Earth house vacation rentals in Southern United States

Being able to walk out the back door for 5 minutes to the river was amazing. And the yard was fenced in so my dog could sniff around off-leash. Mary gave great recommendations for restaurants and hikes. It was a very peaceful stay.

We've stayed in Crestone multiple times, and this was by far our favorite place. We felt at home immediately and had a wonderful time here. Nothing cozier than the dome! We will be back.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was spacious and the views were spectacular. the house was very cozy and close to everything.

This was a truly serene and beautiful destination. The unique housing made for a memorable experience, and we enjoyed hiking to the waterfall on both days of our stay. The grounds were well-maintained and lovely, adding to the charm of the location. We hope to return when the plants are in full bloom. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Sandra's place was peaceful, immaculate and offered spaces to sit and interact for all times of the day. The area was beautiful and I wish we had more time to explore and walk. A gem, a wonderful place to retreat to.

A gorgeous, cozy place that was a nice, quiet break from town. We were working remotely and had no issues with the internet. Loved having the indoor fireplace to use at night!

Well appointed casita in a tranquil area. Interesting artwork and a great place to look at the stars. Plenty of firewood and the water was fresh and clean, which is not always the case in this area outside of town. Great place! Would stay there again!

We had a great time at Linda’s place with our two kids. Her house is a lovely little museum where you feel cosy and at home. Very nice backyard where you can enjoy the sun and the peaceful neighborhood.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at Virginia’s place. Amenities were all available, including a portable crib for our baby. Virginia’s instructions were clear and thorough, and she was very responsive by phone and via Airbnb. The house itself was as described. There was a good amount of space to accommodate all of us, beds were comfy, and we enjoyed using the backyard. The location was fabulous- very walkable to shops and restaurants. Don’t miss the food trucks a couple blocks away!

This was our second time staying at Kirstin’s house. It is incredibly clean, in a great location with easy access to both downtown and the ski Valley. The sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. We will definitely keep coming back.

This is such a wonderful property! All the appointments you will need and the property itself is very peaceful, great views and the yard is full of personal appointments that are fun to look at and utilize. You like playing horseshoes or sitting around a comfortable fire pit? They’re there. This is probably our 8th or 9th time to stay here. It is a lovely close gateway to Big Bend Nat’l Park. Theresa, the owner/host goes out of her way to provide guests a comfortable visit to this historic wonderfully redone house. We highly recommend staying here out of all places in Marathon! Pat’s Tiny Home was amazing! It was the perfect location and had everything I needed and more for my two month stay. Pat always responded right away and had wonderful suggestions for activities to do while I stayed there. It’s so peaceful and quiet. I was able to work from home and record my podcast- that’s how quiet it was. It has beautiful views from the patio area and I found a great walking trail 5 min drive away- dos arroyos walking trail - if anyone wants to know. :) I mainly stayed in and cooked every night. I had a safe place to park my car, plenty of storage in the tiny home to put my things and I felt extremely safe being there. It was such a healing place too. I felt very comfortable and at peace. Pat even welcomed me into her home and showed me how to peel the green chilies for hatch season. It was such a fun experience! Stay at Pat’s place! You won’t regret it! Thank you, Pat for being such an amazing super host!

Lots of kitchen amenities to have coffee and cook. Lots of power outlets for charging. High quality linens.

Great place to stay with dogs- definitely recommend! It was a really comfortable spot and the yard was perfect for the dogs. Would stay again!

Absolutely beautiful place!! We loved the stay. The hosts were responsive!! We had to cut our stay short and the host was very understanding and helpful with our quick checkout.

The house and property were so peaceful and beautiful, unlike anywhere we’ve ever stayed! I’m not exactly sure how everything worked with the earthship, but when we arrived it was very cold outside but warm and cozy inside. The decor was unique and inviting and gave us the NM experience we were looking for. There were a few drafts from the exterior doors and the sky lights, so we got a little chilly overnight, but we had plenty of blankets so it sort of felt like we were camping under the stars. I will say the duplex felt a little odd; it would have been useful to have another bedroom/ living space instead of the 2nd kitchen (only 1 kitchen had an operating refrigerator- I assume to conserve electricity). Overall a wonderful experience and would love to go back someday!

Staying at this cozy home was so special. We enjoyed the stunning sunsets from the bay window and stargazed from the hot tub. Josefine was a lovely host. Our dogs lived their best lives running in and out of the home into the fenced yard, exploring all the nooks and crannies it had to discover. We’ll certainly try to book this listing next time we visit Taos!

I’ve been to many places before, but up to this moment, I sincerely have never seen a place that would be one step ahead of me in every single detail. A lot of accommodations and facilities are available (board games, kitchen tools, much extra towels, pet facilities, extra mattresses, etc.). Also, what I really liked during my visit was the interior decoration, specially the photos, colors and frames, they literally fit so well and gave the place the identity it needs. Overall, I enjoyed my stay with zero problems and I recommend Casa de Cooper for every group that is looking forward to renting a cozy nice place away from crowded environments. Finally, the host was very helpful and responsive. Thanks a lot Jessica!

Lora’s Bali Earthship is truly amazing! The experience was incredible and one of a kind. We’ve stayed in off-the-grid homes before, but not like this… it’s a fully functional house with all the luxuries of a home that you’d expect to have. We were fortunate to arrive before a major snowfall, and it was beautiful to see the light snow falling for hours and hours, covering the grounds like a white blanket. And even though we live in a dark sky city, the night sky here was mind-blowing. The photos we took were unreal. We would definitely come back again!

my husband and i stayed here for a few days for our anniversary trip. marlan was super flexible on our check in time as we’d had to leave a couple hours later than we wanted to due to a snowstorm. when we arrived he helped us get in and get connected to wifi. there’s a walmart about 15 minutes down the road, and tons of stuff to do in the area. we went to d.c., shenandoah caverns, and luray caverns, but there’s tons of other caverns, civil war battlefields, and shenandoah national park all within a short drive. the road leading to the airbnb was paved and the driveway even with a bit of snow was just fine for my honda accord. overall we had an incredible time!

I had an amazing stay! The space was absolutely perfect—spotlessly clean, exactly as pictured, and in a great location. Everything was well thought out, making it super comfortable and welcoming. The check-in process was smooth, and the host was communicative and helpful. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay!

This is genuinely one of the most beautiful AirBNB’s I have ever stayed in, couldn’t recommend a space more for a romantic getaway!! The location and the view were incredible, and the space itself was truly one of a kind. Bed was like a cloud and you really can’t beat waking up to that view!! And the host was so proactive and helpful with instructions on how to get to the cabin, we can’t wait to come back and visit the rest of their listings!!
