Barn vacation rentals in River Dart

We had a wonderful stay at Bridesmere over New Year and it was just what we needed. Peaceful, beautiful area, lovely comfortable home from home. We appreciated the enclosed garden for our spaniel, the beautiful and spacious bedrooms and the living area which was large enough for all 7 of us, two families. WiFi was strong upstairs so no issue with all of us connected and the tv had all apps we needed to watch films with no buffering. There is a beautiful walk through the forest along the river just minutes from the house which leads to a very nice pub serving good food. As other reviews mention, the kids room smells a little musty/damp but this was not a huge issue and we opened the bathroom window after showering which helped. Kitchen well stocked but knives are a little blunt! Children loved the games barn and not having to bring bikes with us was really helpful and appreciated. Overall we couldn’t have asked for a nicer stay and we would definitely return. Thank you for having us.

A comfortable and peaceful place, with good walks and pubs with great food nearby. Giles was fast and easy to communicate with, and checkin and out was easy. The only slight drawback we found was that we were using the space for a work get together, but the bedrooms and bathrooms are more set up for two families sharing as each level had a main bedroom with an ensuite and a smaller bedroom suitable for kids, so 4 individual adults sharing the space didn't work that well for us. But the communal space was great, and for a family holiday it would be perfect.

The Old Dairy is lovely cottage in South Hams and is near Bigbury. It is comfortable period cottage. The bedrooms are a good size and tastefully furnished. The place is clean and worked well for us - Grandma, parents and two children. We enjoyed the stay here.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this perfectly located cottage. The area is quiet yet a short walk to the local M&S. we loved spending evenings in front of the log fire. Kate is very friendly and a great host. The cottage is very well equipped, we appreciated the pint of milk in the fridge so we could have a cup of tea on arriving. I was celebrating my 50th birthday and Kate had left a cake for us in the kitchen which was a lovely gesture.

We were a multi generation family group and wagtail cottage was great for all of us. The younger ones loved the games room and swimming pool. Having 2 babies it was lovely to have the washing machine and tumble dryer

The Perfect Getaway! We were in the area to attend a retreat and explore Devon. The Cider Barn was a lovely place to stay and ideally located. Plus our hosts were extremely accommodating - highly recommended.

This is a gem of a place - we loved it and so will you! The barn is in a beautiful spot, so relaxing and peaceful yet a great base from which to explore North Devon and Dartmoor. Loved meeting Penny and Paul and hearing about how they arrived at the now glorious Hole Farm.

A lovely apartments. Very spacious, more than shown in photos. Everything was spotless. Very comprehensive info pack with everything about all appliances, area, beaches etc. the property accepts pets but because of the excellent cleanliness of the property you would not know that previous users had brought their furry friends with them. It is off the beaten track which is part of its charm. A lovely group of converted farm buildings. Would def stay again.

This is the most beautiful, tranquil, calming place to spend some time with a loved one. Beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Would absolutely recommend 🙂

A fantastic and fun place to stay - our two girls had a great time feeding donkeys and finding eggs from the chickens. Place is really well kitted out, comfy beds etc. We stayed in February and it warmed up quickly and stayed warm. Great location close to Totnes and close but not too close to the roads to go further afield.

We and the kids loved our stay in the Long Barn. Louise was super helpful and the accommodation was perfect for our week away with the family. The girls loved saying hello to the goats in morning and exploring the farm to find the geese, sheep and chickens. Lovelly place x

Beautiful property and Leanne was a great host. Family enjoyed the welcome cakes and we had to buy more to bring home! Took my parents to see family and it was not the best for a wheelchair getting out and about due to parking otherwise and hill to main Rd, however all this is explained beforehand. Would stay again if we were on our own or with different family members.

We had such a lovely time staying at Claire & Marks cottage. It is in an absolutely breath taking location with many beautiful walks right on the doorstep. The cottage itself is stunning and was spotlessly clean throughout. It felt like home from home with absolutely everything we needed for our stay. The pictures really do not do this place justice! Claire went above and beyond to make my birthday extra special and we can’t thank you enough. Perfect home and a perfect place to stay! Thank you xx

A wonderful, peaceful Air BnB! Maria’s place was really spacious and immaculately clean. It’s in a perfect location too, being close to amazing walks, cafes and places to visit all while feeling totally secluded. Highly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in South Devon!

One of, if not the best Air bnb we have had to date. Everything was perfect and every little detail was thought about. Location was great, interior was lovely and homely and furniture was 5/5 comfort! Lovely hosts, made you feel welcome immediately. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Katie and Ruby (the family’s gorgeous 14 year old golden retriever) made us feel very welcome when we arrived and the cream tea that Katie provided was yummy. The accommodation had everything we needed and if it had been warmer we would have enjoyed sitting outside on the private patio, overlooking fields. The local area was peaceful and Tavistock was only a few minutes drive away. We had a lovely time staying here and hope that everyone else does too.

Brilliant, a little difficult to get to but once there everything was perfect

Just back from 3 night break at Old Orchard. Great for families and children. The hosts were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. The whole place is lovingly looked after. My son had a great time in the pool. We enjoyed food and drink in Chagford. Plenty of good pubs and coffee. We would love to visit again soon.

This is a spacious, comfortable, very quiet and relaxing home in absolutely idyllic surroundings. It has a well-equipped kitchen, an excellent shower, and you can eat inside or out.

Clare was an excellent host. The place was so beautifully decorated and pristine. All your needs accommodated. No stone was left unturned catering for their guests needs. The views were breathtaking from the bedroom and sitting room and we were fortunate to have lovely weather to enjoy the spectacular views over the estuary and the sunsets were incredible. One of the most beautiful Airbnb’s we’ve stayed in. Thank you.

Gorgeous building, in a great location to visit Dartmoor and the nearby towns. Good communication from the friendly hosts, who are nearby for any issues. We had a lovely time!
