Hosts were fantastic. Met us at check in, talked about the history and some of the decor in the space. My son and I really enjoyed hiking through the woods, and even though it was subzero outside, we were quite warm and cozy! We can’t wait to come back!

This house was very cute! Our 10 month old loved seeing the cows across the street each morning. Loved the A-frame, eclectic in decor, and very clean.

Overall, our stay here was very nice. The cabin was very cozy and cute and had all the amenities suggested on the page. My friends and I all agree that we would stay here again!

We love this cottage and it has become our favorite very quickly. The most peaceful surroundings, and an extremely nice cabin. Very close to all the sights around and east to get to. Don and Hanna are excellent hosts and we will definitely visit again. Top notch and thank you for the wonderful stay for our visit!

This was a great space for our party of six! It’s located close to Starved Rock State Park, so we hiked by day, then enjoyed cooking dinner in the well stocked kitchen. We felt right at home, and had fun playing some of the games stored in one of the cabinets! We highly recommend for a comfortable place to stay while enjoying the many hikes this area has to offer.

Elizabeth is an incredible host and her house truly feels like a home away from home. The upstairs was the perfect little private loft for my youngest. She was able to play music and games, as well as watch tv and we never heard a thing during the entire visit. We opened the door to the stairs a few time just to make sure she was still alive up there it was so quiet. The bedroom on the first floor was more than ample with a luxurious amount of closet space. We settled in to her home like it was our own. The town is really a lovely spot in its own right. We’ve used AirBNB in Chicago before and usually we spent every moment in the city as the surrounding areas weren’t appealing. This spot made it very easy to get around if you are walking & you could get to a bunch of other hot spots with a quick drive. There is even a wonderful park & fishing a few minutes away. just about any spot in town was under 30 minutes. Best of all Elizabeth is an absolutely joy to work with, so just book it now

Emma’s cottage was the cutest! Perfect for our vacation, so peaceful, lovely, safe and clean! We absolutely loved our stay in beautiful Nauvoo at Emma’s Cottage. And enjoyed the Historical sites! Thank you Sara for the recommendations for restaurants too… We’d definitely stay here again! -~Yvonne

Of all the air bnb locations we have experienced this one is the best to date. I have yet to see owners pay this much attention to detail as Philip and Katlyn have. From the handwritten welcome card, wine, and treats, to the supplies in the kitchen and bathroom everything was thoughtfully done, they did not miss a thing. My partner’s father is a luxury home builder, and she comes to every place we rent with a critical eye for detail from the lighting to the finishing work, even the arrangement of the furniture. Earning a compliment from her is a big deal and she LOVED this place. We will return! .

This is our favorite place to stay while visiting our granddaughter at Illinois Wesleyan. It’s comfortable, well equipped and close to campus and restaurants. We love the college memorabilia decor.

We had such a fun night away at Ambers! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner. We used the hot spot on our phone and brought a laptop to stream Netflix during our stay. The hot tub was perfect to unwind & the chicken and cats were such a sweet surprise. The shower was amazing and we slept great in the bed. The linens were so comfortable! 10/10, will be back. 😍

I had a wonderful stay. Check-in was seamless. The house was very clean. Everything looked just like the photos. They offered alot of local attractions and restaurants. I would 100% book again.

We stayed here for a 3 night stay. This place is great. Very relaxing place except for the train but it really didn’t bother us and Tracy has ear plugs for that. If you are looking for a very clean place, this is it. She also provides some snacks which came in handy for us one night because we ordered pizza and ate snacks. People are very friendly. There are a few restaurants in town and it is a short drive to Mt. Vernon for more. If you are looking for a very reasonable and clean place this is it.

We absolutely loved staying in the Little Slice of Heaven cabin. It was private. Looked exactly like the pictures. The inside was extremely clean and very well organized. Not cluttered at all. Everything you could need was provided. We came during the winter, but really wanna come back during the summer to sit out by the pond. Communicating with Crystal was very easy. If you’re really hungry, go to Gabby andGranny‘s Restaurant. Their food is family style, and it was the best catfish bites we have ever had!

We really enjoyed our stay at Dave and Karen's. it was such a peaceful getaway from the city area and the quietness, the amazing stars, great view with a nice deck were just what we needed. Elizabeth was a perfect little town, lots to check out, everyone so friendly. Galena is only a 25 min drive with lots to do there as well. Great location!

Julia's place was lovely and exactly has described! She gave us recommendations to a lovely state park that was just 5 miles north. Space was cozy and had coffee and bathroom essentials stocked.

We were very happy to getaway for a long weekend/out of town wedding and be away from the hustle of the city we are used to. We wanted a quiet and remote place, and away from technology the best we could to enjoy the countryside and beautiful views. Mary was delightful to work with when it came to booking, leaving, and everything in between to check in on us. The guidebook for places to eat, hiking, wineries etc…were wonderful and we checked out a few of those places! Highly recommend this cozy spot!

My family and I had an amazing stay! The location was absolutely stunning, with beautiful surroundings right next to a Sara lake. The home was super clean and well-maintained, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It was clear that the hosts take great pride in their space. The accommodations were comfortable and thoughtfully set up, making it easy to unwind and feel at home. I can’t wait to come back in the summer to fully enjoy everything the area has to offer, from the lake activities to the peaceful outdoor spaces. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a tranquil and spotless getaway!

This beautiful cabin far exceeded our expectations. The minute we walked through the door we were in awe of the craftsmanship. The pictures don’t do justice to how incredible it is & how beautifully styled it is. We fell in love with the entire place inside & out because it’s truly amazing. We so enjoyed everything about our stay & are already looking forward to the next getaway there. Thank you Joel and Tammy for giving this cabin new life & creating such a peaceful retreat!

Place was great clean cozy and warm. Unfortunately had an emergency come up but was really nice the amount of time we spent it. Would definitely recommend.
