A warm welcome greeted us at this lovely private airbnb. Eveything was very clean, tidy and organised and wished we had time to stay another night. Eileen kindly spared us some time to talk about life in New Zealand and gave recommendations of places to visit, do and see. I’d highly recommend.

Quaint Essential Guest & Bath House

What a find! Such a comfortable bed in a sweet Airbnb in Arapuni near the Waikato River Trails and close to the world famous in Arapuni Rhubarb Cafe with delicious food! Actually, mine was a last-minute booking due a last-minute work reschedule, and so I decided to take two days for some much-needed down time. A perfect place to do that! Gorgeous scenery and drives to do nearby; places to walk and sit looking at the looking at river. Thank you to Nicki for accepting my booking later in the day. The Airbnb is in two separate spaces with a connecting area under cover with a perfectly appointed green table and two chairs. A beautiful and well-kept garden. Nicki was helpful, friendly and gave me good ideas of where to go for rest and relaxation. Highly recommended for a weekend or few days getaway.

Pine Hill Cottage

we loved staying here! the views are stunning, and it was so fun to wake up to loads of birdsong, little bunnies frolicking in the yard, and crisp, fresh country air. and the stargazing was incredible! it's relatively remote, but that's one of the things I liked about it. and it's still close enough to drive to Hobbiton, waitomo caves, and rotarua. we found a brochure in the home for Jim Barnett reserve, which is pretty close by and one of my favorite things we ended up doing. a few things of note: it's the first turnoff after you get onto the gravel road. because it's the country there are many moths and flying critters outside, but if you're careful, you won't get too many inside the house. also, there is no AC, however, it cools down a lot at night (at least in Feb) if you open all the screened windows. so close the blinds and curtains during the day, and open windows at night.
