Alvaro was very friendly and communicative. He met me at check-in, showed me everything I needed to know about the room and gave me some good tips for what/where to eat and what to do in Oaxaca. The room was pristine clean and felt like home. It's walkable to everything within Centro - excellent location. Clean bathroom, hot shower and stocked kitchen if you want to prepare food. The only minor drawbacks to be aware of are: 1) This room (#6) faces the street, so there's a fair amount of street noise at night. Although there's a glass door that cuts down on the noise, I had to keep it open with a fan running to keep the room cool at night. Overall, the noise didn't affect my sleep but if you're a light sleeper, keep this in mind. 2) The bed is rather stiff and the pillows are flat. This is a matter of personal preference, I suppose, but if this is not what you like, take this into consideration. Overall a very pleasant stay!

We loved staying with Luz and Manuel. We stayed for a month while working remotely and they welcomed us with open arms. I joined their dog walks in the mornings and we got to know them very well. The apartment is cozy and has everything you need. There are markets to buy fresh cheese, meat, and vegetables all within walking distance. Taking the bus into town was very easy. We sought out a place near the mountains so that my husband could mountain bike easily and this was perfect. We also wanted to feel like we were within the local community, not in a separate neighborhood where there are only other gringos. I really enjoyed my stay. The place was super clean and well-prepared for the visit. It's small and cozy, equipped with everything you need for short-term or even longer stays. During my stay, I was taken care of by Manuel's lovely parents, who were very helpful and always in contact!
