My stay was beautiful. The home is bright, clean, & spacious with a well-stocked kitchen. There’s no oven, but I cooked every meal I wanted. The bed is comfy, & the patio is perfect for breakfast. There’s a stunning hike nearby. Map to “Montecito,” take the left fork, and it loops back to the house. More trails are a short taxi ride away. Buses to the city are easy (10 pesos), & DiDi for taxi. Maria offers a ride if it aligns with her work schedule. She’s incredibly kind & genuinely cares about her guests. Filtered water is available upon request, which was super helpful. There’s also a sweet cleaning service from Carmelita. The local market near Mula Café has amazing fresh produce. The neighborhood is peaceful & friendly. If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs as dogs sometimes bark at night. This place feels like home thanks to the love and generosity of Maria and her family. I’m so grateful to have found it.

We had a wonderful visit to Calpulálpam de Mendez thanks to Yolanda, Marta, and David! The cabin was very comfortable and cozy, staying cool even when the daytime temperature spiked and staying warm enough overnight for a restful sleep -- plus, they even provided firewood for the fireplace. Marta gave us great local recommendations via chat, and everyone we spoke with in town (in Spanish, never heard a word of English) throughout our stay was incredibly nice. We hired a local driver from Oaxaca City to take us to and from the pueblo. The more affordable alternative seemed to be taking a colectivo van from outside the city to Ixtlán, then hiring a cab from Ixtlán to Capu (but we didn't take that approach because we had some luggage and have limited Spanish skills). However you get to Capu, please make the effort to visit this peaceful mountain town and pay respect to their community :)

Manuel's is the perfect little tiny house for the solo traveler. I always felt safe. It is exceptionally clean, well equipped and while it is located in a quiet, refined neighborhood, it is still within walking distance of cento. Getting a bus or taxi back was easy. The True highlight of this stay was the hospitality shown to me. I felt truly cared for by Manuel, Patricia and Manolo; who showed sincere concern for me. Thank you. Yes, I would highly recommend their home.
