Cabin vacation rentals in Reykjavík

The cabin was away from the city which was what we wanted. Unfortunately we happened to stay when there was a storm so we didn’t get to enjoy the beautiful views. You definitely need 4 wheel drive during the winter, be barely made it up the driveway most nights even with 4 wheel drive. The cabin is small but functional, plenty of kitchenware to cook at home. If we were here durning the summer I would really enjoy the deck. Overall it was a nice stay!

The cabin was located on a small road outside of town, near other cabins but still very quiet. It was a good balance between being in an isolated area while also having 15 minute access to stores and restaurants. Cabin was small and cozy and sufficient for 3 people. The top bunk of the bunk bed was a bit too tight against the ceiling but my daughter had no trouble sleeping on the big sectional couch. Instructions provided by Katrin were clear and helpful, including ensuring we got a 4x4 rental car for the road in winter!

We had such a great time, the cabin exceeded expectations in every way! Lilja was very responsive and helpful for any questions we had. The most beautiful surroundings and so peaceful! We enjoyed the hot tub, dart board and pool table. We even got to see the auroras on 2 separate nights which was a real highlight! The kitchen is small with a small over, this didn’t matter for us but could be useful to know if you were not planning to go out much. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this cabin!!

These cabins are so magical and beautiful. This is our 2nd stay here and we love it. This place holds a lot of sentimental value after getting engaged here in November 2022. The cabins are clean and cosy, and in a great location. Close drive to Reykjavík but also remote and peaceful. We saw the Northern lights from here, and enjoyed some beautiful snow. The hot tub is a perfect addition and very welcomed after days exploring the breathtaking scenery of Iceland. Would recommend again and again. We will be back again!

We had a lovely stay at Hélgi's, the accommodation is very nice and the hot tub was very appreciated at the end of the day it was tip top!

A bit remote, but very peaceful place. Make sure you have supplies or be prepared to drive 20+ for the most simple sandwich. It was pretty chilly when first entering, but the place heats up pretty quickly. Soaking in the hot tub and looking up to see all the stars and aurora activity was pretty special. Tumi upgraded me to the main house which was great, as he needed to do some work on the cabin. On your trip to Thingvellir National Park you'll pass the Þórufoss falls. Use the google link to get directions to the place!

Very attractive and comfortable cabin in a beautiful area which feels entirely private despite being only an hour from Reykjavik. Great base for hiking or sightseeing. We had five days here and felt we only scratched the surface of what the area has to offer. Cabin is very well and thoughtfully equipped. Matthias was a great host and offered fantastic recommendations of things to do and see. No hesitation at all in recommending.

I had such an incredible stay, the house was very cosy and surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. Everything was extremely clean and well thought out. Ágúst provided easy to follow instructions to find the place and was very kind and helpful throughout our stay. Watching the stars from the outside jacuzzi was particularly special. I highly recommend!!!

Staying at Anton’s cabin in Ölfus was an unforgettable experience. The cabin is beautifully designed—cozy and equipped with everything you could need. Nestled in a peaceful and scenic location, it offered the perfect retreat for relaxation while being close enough to explore the stunning Icelandic landscape. Anton was an outstanding host, always quick to respond and incredibly thoughtful in ensuring we had everything we needed. He even shared great recommendations for local spots and activities. Waking up to the breathtaking views of the surrounding nature and enjoying the tranquil atmosphere was a highlight of our trip. We can’t recommend this cabin enough for anyone looking for a serene and authentic Icelandic getaway. Thank you, Anton—we’ll definitely be back!

Quaint little cabin in a great location for a very reasonable price. The host was very quick to respond and helpful with any questions I had. The host was very friendly and gave us some itineraries we could follow which were very helpful. Overall, it was a great experience!

What a beautiful little cabin! Everything you need for a few days in Iceland. Great location as only 15 mins from Reykjavik and ideal for driving around the golden circle and fjords near Akranes. Great communication and instructions for checking in. The hot tub is a wonderful addition for star gazing and spotting northern lights (we saw the Aurora for two out of three nights!) We had the BEST time!

This feels like less of a "review" and more of our most sincere and incredibly heartfelt Thank You to Zoei and Bab. We came to Iceland for our secret elopement and booked our flights only after finding this Airbnb... we knew it was the perfect setting for our private ceremony, and there are truly no words to describe just how magical Zoei's Garden is. From the moment we walked in, we could feel the immense care and love and spiritual energy that they have poured into every corner of this home / property. The private hot spring lagoon was the most magical we experienced our entire time in Iceland. This home is by far the best kept secret on Airbnb, and hands down the best Airbnb we have ever stayed at. Zoei was extremely communicative and helpful and so sweet and kind. It felt like we were staying at the home of a dear friend. We will never forget Zoei's Garden and cannot wait to come back. Really enjoyable stay at the lakeside lodge, a beautiful location and a great place to jump in the car and explore the surrounding areas., the lodge was perfect and the hot box was perfect to get in and enjoy the stars on a clear evening. Would definitely recommend this place for a family to stay who want a true Icelandic experience. 👍🏼🇮🇸

The small house is lovingly furnished and equipped with everything. It was very cozy for 3 people.

We had a great time at the cabin! Actually, one of the highlights was our host Ylfa, who was always very helpful, provided a lot of very detailed information up front and reacted very quickly to all remaining questions we had - the communication was really a pleasure to us and on a level I have not experienced on Airbnb before. About the cabin: Our kids (3 and 6 years old) very much liked what they referred to as "the play cave", which is the upstairs sleeping loft. The kitchen is well equipped with all necessary things needed, far exceeding what would be minimal kitchen setup. Another highlight to us was the hot tub, which we used almost every day (despite wind and a bit of rain outside). The open view towards the west is very suitable to search for Northern Lights in the dark or just watch the stars. We mainly used the cabin as our homebase to different day tours around in western Iceland. In total, we really had a great time!
