Waterfront vacation rentals in Nova Scotia

We are already planning to book this place again! We were visiting family in the area and decided to have a place of our own uptown. The location is next to our favorite restaurants and central to uptown. Everything we needed was within a block or two. The building was immaculate and secure which is very comforting when you are away from home. When we first walked in, we thought we'd like to live there (maybe not quite big enough for 4 adults permanently, but absolutely perfect for a vacation). We each had a turn sitting in the window seats and looking out over the harbour. When the Harbour Quay is finished, this will be such a beautiful place to people watch from. The space was clean to the standards of a high-end hotel and decorated beautifully. The beds were so comfortable, I hated to leave! The bathroom was huge with a separate entrance from the master bedroom. And finally - although it was actually our first stop - the local pub downstairs has local micro brews on tap.

This was a perfect place to stay…located along the waterfront, near to restaurants and grocery stores, and also the rail trail. It was very comfortable and quiet. I will certainly look to stay here again!

Was a lovely place to stay!! They had everything we needed for our one night there. Super cozy and they were quick to respond if we needed anything. Definitely recommend this place if you are in the area!!

Myrtle is a wonderful host. She is very willing to help guests and solve various problems. Her Airbnb is wonderful, even more so than in the photos!

Great spot for rest while traveling on Cabot Trail. Perfect location and idealic setting right in the water. In negative that comes to mind is that we checked in after dark and the entrance was dark bc the overhead door light was burned out. Otherwise, exactly as described.

Such a cozy stay! The skylight window looked out onto the ocean which was beautiful.

Our stay at Sara's place was just perfect! What a tranquil, beautiful, spacious, clean, fabulous spot! Sara is a fantastic host, who greeted us with coffee, muffins and wine! Her lovely property is well-equipped, private, and we enjoyed the woodstove! Although we didn't have time to sit at the waterfront, it has great views. Her location is very central and easy to get to the Cabot Trail. All-in-all, a first-rate BnB!

We had the pleasure of staying at Meghan and Marc's Airbnb once again, and it was another fantastic experience. Just like our previous stay, they were excellent at communicating and made sure everything was clear and easy from start to finish. Their place was spotless, exactly as shown in the photos, and incredibly comfortable. After long days of work, it was the perfect retreat to relax and unwind. We truly appreciate the attention to detail and hospitality, and without a doubt, we’ll be back again for another stay! Highly recommend!

We were celebrating a 50th birthday with a spa day nearby. The 4 bedrooms was a dream! The house had all we needed and then some. The host was amazing from beginning to end. Responsive. Proactive. Friendly. We spent 2 stormy nights and we're cozy the whole time. Thanks for the great weekend.

The house was amazing. Very remote and quiet. But only 30 minutes to busier locations with shopping, restaurants, etc. Within 10 minutes, RoseBay Bistro & Market and Dear Emma Pizza (incredible!) provide all you need otherwise. The beach is incredible. Sitting in the chairs at the edge of the beach, over the dunes, is the perfect spot for morning coffee or a happy hour cocktail! The house design is like a piece of art - the many levels and nooks make it a very unique experience. It is well furnished with all sorts of things you might want to enjoy your stay. Very thoughtful. We look forward to a return visit.

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay!! And we would return!!

We were in the area visiting family and friends. The cottage was on a beautiful waterfront. The bedrooms were very comfortable and spacious with games to play, netflix etc. We found everything we needed to cook in the kitchen. The house was clean and a beautiful place to stay. Just a ferry ride away to brier island, we visited pond cove (beach), western light has a breathtaking sunset, nothern light has nice walking trails and we had drinks and a delicious meal at Chetwick's !!

Spent Christmas week, location was beautiful n peaceful yet easy enough for family and friends to find. The two living areas made it great for entertaining family. Laura was very approachable and facilitated any needs we had.

The Harbour House was simply amazing. From the view of the bay, the charm of all the decor and old pieces of the home to the record collection, this place was perfect for our family gathering. Tim and Logan were amazing at communicating and accomodated all of our needs. We hope to come back again.

Gorgeous property. Better than photos convey. Decor is very tasteful, bathroom large and beautiful shower. Everything was done thoughtfully and professionally. Hosts were very responsive and clear. We got some snow during our stay and they were on top of having everything shoveled. Stayed for Christmas while visiting family and couldn’t get over how cozy the place was. I felt like I was staying in the Nova Scotian version of Kate Winslet’s cottage from “the holiday”. Would be gorgeous in the summer too.

Lili & Cristian’s place were as described, well-equipped kitchen and cozy living area, which made my family stay feel like a home away from home. Additionally, the location was perfect, allowing easy access to the national park and many other local stuff.

We loved Jeanne’s condo. It was very comfortable and in a great location. Could walk around the little town of Mahone Bay, or enjoy the view from the balcony.

Had a great stay at Angela’s place. Very smooth check-in, Angela was very friendly and accommodating. For the apartment, the attention to detail was excellent. You can really tell this is a “home” that’s looked after well and has been lived in. Gizmos and amenities in all the places they should be, whether it was little hooks for towels, the kitchen scales/appliances/utensils or the clock in the bedroom. These are all small details, but really make it feel homely- everything seemed to be where it should be! Highly recommend!

Awesome experience to stay at the rotating house! Condo was very clean and felt like right at home! Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

Everything was just as it should be. Great views. Emily was prompt and helpful in providing a couple of extra things we requested. Very nice place for a winter get away!

Fred was very responsive and helpful. The place was exactly as described, with a nice balcony with a view of the water. It was very comfortable and well equipped. We really appreciated that it was stocked with coffee and tea, and that there was laundry detergent available. The whole apartment was in pristine shape, and Ingonish Beach is a great place to base yourself when visiting Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

Catherine’s place is in a spectacular setting with stunning views out to sea. We received a wonderfully warm welcome from Catherine. Do not miss sitting in the sunroom looking out to sea and chilling. The apartment is spotless clean. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom a lovely size. If you are looking to get away from it all, this is a great place to do it. We wish we could have spent more time there We ate at the Red Shoe pub about a 15 minute drive away. Food was decent and live music on the Friday was very enjoyable. You do need a car to stay here but if you’re travelling around Cape Breton, you will already know that Catherine & Francis took the time to give us some great recommendations and places to stop around the Cabot Trail. Catherine also baked us some extremely good cake that was fantastic with our morning coffee. I’d highly recommended staying here

Sylvia’s place was beautiful and quiet. A wonderful place to get away from a hectic schedule. The house is fully stocked with everything you could need! I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.!! 🩷
