Vacation rentals with a kayak in New Zealand

Beautiful property! We'd love to move in! I loved the open-air living concept that blended the living room right into that epic deck. Tip for travelers who aren't accustomed to coastal living - book a 2-night stay or check the tide schedule if you'd like to take advantage of paddle boards etc to play on the water, since the landscape and access to water (and your view from the property) changes as the tide goes in and out. Appreciated the great communication with our host and would love to stay for longer next time!

Hi, we came to Rotorua to participate in the Xterra Rotorua Festival, while my little boy just got the title of French Polynesia champion in Taekwondo -28 kilo , after 4 months of intensive training. We needed a place where we could recover. And that's what we found with this place. A luxury, peaceful, lakefront villa with beautiful views. Everything was perfect in the house, a large garden with hot tub, fire pit… all the paddleboard kayak equipment to go to the lake… a large deck with bbq… the house, 2 bathrooms! 3 bedrooms. But beyond everything, great hosts, lovese and Dany, always attentive! What more could you ask for? This place is the perfect definition of luxury. Thank you so much.

Mark’s AirBnB is an experience rather than a stay. Is a combination of coastal rural Nz right on the doorstep (short boat ride away) from a bustling town Raglan where there are 5 star restaurants, super markets and everything you would need or expect. And the accomodation itself is nestled on a cliff top with 180 views of the harbour and if Raglan. Private, the feeling of seclusion and neighbour free - the best of both worlds made better by a host that balances your needs with respectful distance. Make a pizza in the wood fired oven and then warm your bones in the spa boat and arching the harbour u til the sun melts away listening to birds evening song. We can’t wait to head back and hopefully catch the big uncle of the 12 lb snapper we caught in the raglan harbour!!! Outstanding place.

What a special place to stay. Beautiful home with incredible views. Every amenity one could need (include a bottle of wine and fab chocolate to welcome us), super comfortable beds, beach towels, a fully equipped kitchen, barbecue, and plenty of seating for our family to socialize in multiple different locations. The views are spectacular (did I mention that already). It was super easy to stroll into town or, even better, stroll down for a swim in the estuary (my personal favorite) or walk on the beach. Our family was coming from all over the world for our reunion and every single person wanted to come back and stay here again. Duane was really easy to communicate with and gave several different sleeping options for accommodating possible additional family members. Would love to stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay here. The view is incredible and we loved being able to access the waterfront and use of the kayaks. Margaret was so nice and was always quick to respond to any messages. The property matched the description and photos.

We loved the house and the view was amazing. All the different activities to keep 2 teenagers busy, was a real bonus. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful time at Kotuku Cottage! It's just beautiful. You can sit in the big living room and look out to the tideland right behind the house and the sunlit hill on the other side. Our kids had big fun playing in the mud and water, and if you walk around the corner you're right at the ocean. It's a very quiet and private location but you can easily drive either up to farewell spit, or down to Collingwood (recommended: The Courthouse Café) or further into the golden bay. Highly recommended for a serene stay close to the sea.

Down the steps and your in paradise. Jane and Ian's place is a perfect getaway.The bach is very comfortable right on the water.Cant wait to go back.

Rob’s lakeside retreat was wonderful!! It was clean and beautiful and perfect for our family! It was larger than we expected… plenty of room for the 5 of us to spread out. And the view was even better than we hoped! There was everything we could have wanted at our fingertips… robes, extra pillows, tea! Rob is extremely organized and helpful! We felt very lucky to stay at this property!

Wonderful stay in an idyllic place. So restful ... it matches it's name.. a real sanctuary. Very comfrtable cottage with all that was required for an enjoyable and peaceful stay. Bed linen was high quality ensuring a restful sleep. Beautiful garden and seafront, where we managed a swim at hide tide. Few minutes drive to eateries and good base for karikari peninsula and Cape Reigna. Would highly recommend. Host was very responsive. One note of caution is to ensure you get exact address in advance as google maps sent us on a wild goose chase!

Fantastic views and space for the price! This is perfect for all types of occasions with a group of family or friends. The host was responsive and we were given clear instructions on everything regarding to the house, check in, directions, recycling, etc! Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at the Love Shack! Florence and her husband were lovely and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay. The property is very peaceful and close to everything in town. We hope to be back on our next visit!

Our sailing team of students and adults stayed at this beach house. Everything was as we expected and everyone enjoyed their stay! Thanks for always being so resposive and communictaive. Much appreciated! We would highly recommend this beach house!

Paul and Katalina place was a perfect stop,it was in a very private part of their lodge looking out towards Karekare beach and farmland. The bed was super comfortable which was so needed after two bad ones. Takeaways close by for dinner and a beer. Will def be back to stay and would highly recommend A++++

Great spot 100m walk to the beach. Just down the road from the boat ramp. Had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. Super easy communication and instructions.

This was a great place to stay, even if it was for one night. The room was cozy, spotless, and had great amenities for cooking, breakfast, and more already available. David was very nice and a gracious host. I wish I got to see more of Picton but I guess that means I’ll be coming back!

Rose was an amazing host, topped only by the wonderfully unique experience offered by her seaside cabin! It was a true escape from the mundane, requiring a short drive on unpaved paddocks to access, adding to its charm and authenticity. (When returning after dark, watch up for furry and featherly neighbours!) You are then greeted with a self contained tiny home nestled between Rose's well groomed farm and the untamed ocean. This is a truly secluded retreat with beautiful sunrises over the pacific, dancing birds, meditating goats and endlesdly soothing sounds of crashing waves. The cabin is well equipped with a mini kitchenette (no microwave), heating, luxurious bathroom and cosy bedroom with a beautiful view of the ocean, and external utilities including a fire pit, BBQ and even a canoe (we did not brave it). Rose was an amazing host, greeting us on arrival and teaching us how to access the cabin. Her Sunday only cafe, the Farmshop, is also highly recommended, especially the pizza!

We loved our stay, beautiful surroundings and nice to get to explore them with the kayaks and paddle boards available. Belinda and her husband were above and beyond hosts, will definitely be back!

Christine’s cabin is private and peaceful. Perfect for a quiet weekend away but also less than ten minutes into Raglan town. Would absolutely stay again!

LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVE! This was well worth it, as somebody who loves Taranaki (from Auckland) this is the best place to show somebody from another country how beautiful Taranaki is. Gorgeous views, sheltered from wind and rain (unfortunate timing for us with the weather haha) and great walks around the property. Lovely amenities, and eco friendly too!!! Awesome garden too.

looking for peace & to switch off from the pressures of city life for a night or two then this is the place for you, Fantastic scenery, private & the option of 3 different rooms. you can hire all 3 and it would be an awesome get away for family or a group of friends. One of the rooms has its own bathroom and the other two shared facilities which were only a couple of meters away in the stockyard shed.All clean safe and great hot shower too! We had the best sleep ever! It is off the grid but the solar power was more than enough for basic power, lighting,charging devices etc.Cell phone reception is patchy but a few steps up to the barn and you well connected to the world again. (also being semi disconnected added to the charm of the place.) Bring all your own food & drinks + maybe a board game or 2 and really just enjoy the awesome spot without having to venture into town &relax. bonus is the use of a private boat ramp, we had our 2 jetskis and had an amazing time exporting the lake

This place is a true find❤️!!! While we have enjoyed our beach stays in New Zealand, this exceptional country accommodation is an absolute must for anyone traveling to NZ. There were 4 of us (my husband and I plus our 2 adult kids). The cabin was perfect for this trip AND on our next stay here we will book at their larger cabin. Both cabins are absolutely gorgeous and decorated beautifully. There are many gorgeous close hikes plus lots of drivable activities. We went to one of the Hobbit film locations (Hairy Feet Tours) just a 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk from our cabin. We have a stunning view of the rock cliffs from our place. I strongly suggest staying at this place as part of any trip to New Zealand. It's private, quiet, has an amazing host, and is totally first class. Simply a must!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
