Absolutely loved the place. Beautiful home. Description was accurate. Keep in mind there is someone next to your space in the same building and you can hear them if they make noises (singing, whistling etc). This is in a small city so there are dogs that bark and can be heard in the house, sometimes during the night and early in the mornings. However, we loved the spot and would definitely come back if we are in the area. Great space for the 4 weeks we stayed there. A grocery store with essentials a short walk from the house. Aida’s sister Dinorah kept in touch and checked on us often. She does not speak English but with google translate l we were able to communicate clearly. Definitely recommend.

Greatly located accommodation in the green on the flank of a hill with a fantastic view of the valley in which the lights of San José, Alajuela and Grecia gather during the night. In addition, several volcanoes and a mountain range embroider the panorama. In the village, San Juanillo, instead of the lodge, there is not much to do, but equipped with binoculars you can spot a lot of bird species. By local bus, you are 20 minutes away in Naranjo (costs 365 Colones = less than a Euro). This is a small town with a nice, quiet Parque Central where the youth and other age groups meet. From there, one can easily travel to Sarchi or Grecia. José Gerardo and his wife are an excellent host!! Super likeable, friendly and always willing to help! Very worthwhile to spend a week or more. Bring warm clothes because when the sun disappears, it can cool off quickly at the altitude of 1670 meters!
