Beachfront vacation rentals in Mendocino

There was no one around during our stay. Had deer in the backyard along with a little fox friend. Very relaxing and much needed break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Would definitely recommend.

From the moment you enter this cottage, you are transported to a place of unbelievable tranquility and calm. The view of the ocean greets you like a soothing hug, and you immediately know you’ve entered a very special place. The house was beautifully appointed with everything you could need or want. It was super clean and tidy, uncluttered but cozy. Whether you sat on the deck or cuddled up in a warm blanket in the window nook, the ocean views kept calling to us to take another look. We even cancelled dinner reservations and decided to cook at the house so that we could drink in more of this wondrous coastline. There was a well-stocked market not too far where we could get provisions. There is also a private beach access for those who like to wander in the sand. If you are looking for one of the best seaside experiences of your life, do not scroll by this beautiful cottage. It went way beyond any of our expectations, and I’m sure it won’t disappoint you either.

I was so sad to leave the River House! It was peaceful and private even with hosts on the same plot of land. The house is beautiful and full of thoughtful details, and we loved spending slow mornings reading and playing piano taking in the natural surroundings. We originally chose to stay here because the house itself looked amazing and like a lot of fun for our dogs to play in the River, then we fell in love with Ukiah too. We hope to come back and kayak when it’s warmer out. Thanks for having us

This place was beautiful, homey, relaxing, and all around an exceptional stay. Lisa, the host, was very responsive and kind. The place is in the heart of Mendocino Village yet very quiet and private feeling. We will stay again!

Beautiful, peaceful and lovely stay. This was a fantastic place and one of the best Airbnb stays in my experience. Paulette is a friendly host and has included so many extras in her rental. The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything you would need and she has stocked the bathrooms with many extras. The location is beautiful with decks and windows that view the lake. The completely fenced back yard with the private beach really was beautiful and relaxing. We could let our dogs run free and they loved it. There are California buckeye trees there so I picked up the fruit that had dropped so my dog wouldn't chew them. There is a nice pergola on the beach so we could sit in the shade while the dogs played. Do try the Crestview walk listed in the binder. We drove to the dirt road, parked and had a really nice dog walk. We also walked the Redbud trail off of Hwy 20 which was enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful location right on the coast. Wonderful views from the deck and hot tub. You didn’t need to leave the property feel like you were on vacation.

We are in love with this neighborhood, the kids loved having their own upstairs space, the neighbors are so welcoming and knowledgeable, the yard was perfect for our dogs, the scenery with ocean views and wildlife frolicking about it unreal, and we absolutely love Ft Bragg including the botanical gardens and bakery within a 15 minute walk or 2 minute drive. We hope to be back another time!

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Kevin’s place and it won’t be the last! Perfect location next to the lodge (walkable for meals and drinks) but completely private and very well equipped to never leave if you don’t want to!

Beautiful home perfectly situated on a quiet cul-de-sac. Gorgeous ocean views with a lovely deck with dining table and outdoor seating area with gas fireplace. Spacious kitchen and living room - plenty of space for our family with two young kids.

Wow! This home has an exceptional setting - the spectacular views of the ocean from the great room are mesmerizing. The master bedroom and lower level bedrooms all have gorgeous views of the ocean as well. The Ocean Bluff Trail passes right behind the house, making it so convenient to explore the coast. Great for nature lovers - we saw seals, deer, rabbits, fox, and many varieties of sea birds. Also the home is pet friendly and our dog loved it! Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

Such an amazing stay and visit! We had an extremely relaxing a peaceful stay at Sea Ranch. The house is so welcoming and stocked with anything you could need. Everything is so thoughtful, and well appointed, you feel like you are at home. We loved all the little details about this place that is such a treasure and clearly so loved. We saw so many animals, and could easily walk to the beach. You can hear the Ocean from your window and enjoy your coffee in the morning watching the ocean. Honestly, Nate and Nora’s place is our new favorite at sea ranch. Hosts are so nice and quick to respond. We had a lovely time relaxing, and being out in nature. Thank you both so much, we only have good things to say, thanks for sharing your beautiful home.

Beautiful and super clean house in the magical woods. We loved the window seats everywhere and watching the deer visit every day. The beds are very comfy and towels plush. We enjoyed the sauna and hot tub under the stars. Some aspects of the house are a little more rustic than modern, but still very comfortable and cozy. The owner is super responsive and thoughtful and obviously cares a lot about her home.

Had a wonderful stay at Willa and Craig's home. The house is beautiful and had plenty of space to spread out. The loft was a hit with our five year old. Location is great, roughly five minute drive to Gualala and a short walk to the beach. Would stay again!

Beautiful view and such a pretty home! Loved the handpicked selection of things in the home and the plants. The big glass windows with a beautiful view of the ocean was such a treat!

The house is in the most beautiful and dramatic setting. We didn’t want to leave! The kitchen was a bit tight for group cooking but it’s super well outfitted with plenty of plates & glasses and every gadget & serving piece you could want. We had a great time here & I would book here again in a heartbeat.

A spacious, beautiful house with amazing views of the ocean, cove and beach.

Debra is an excellent host and communicator! The place completely exceeds expectations. Beds are extraordinary, kitchen is clutch, hot tub is great, and waking up to the ocean view is serene. Having access like that to kayaks and the bay from your bedroom is extremely unique in that area of California. There is really nothing like it! Would book again in a heartbeat.

The view. It's maily the view that no picture can really describe. But than again, the house itself is so nice, with great feeling of privecy but still near fine restaurants, wineries, short or long hiking trails, sea and forests. Perfect location

Wow, what a special place. The rainy days couldn’t ruin the trip, even though they tried. Gazing out the huge windows in the living room was peaceful and more entertaining than we could have imagined. Seals resting on the beach between the estuary and ocean, plenty of birds and beautiful spring blooms. The property is exactly as pictured, if not even more impressive in person. Super clean, well equipped, comfortable furniture and the bathrooms were very luxurious. We spent a lot of time in the kitchen; which is well equipped and comfortable for preparing meals. One of the best AirBnBs we have stayed at and plan to return soon (if not annually).

Charlie is a great host and very responsive. You have a great view of Dillon’s Beach and the ocean. The family loved staying there, just be aware that you have some stairs to go up to get to the house. For most people, that should not be a problem. My 3 year old grandson loved to go up and down them and hike to the beach(definitely with in walking distance). Beautiful location and we saw plenty of wild life in the area. We had a lovely experiecne at Greg's property. The location is pristine - right by the lake facing mountains! We had toddlers with us during the stay and they thoroughly enjoyed camping out in the porch. Greg was a very responsive host, and easily accessible. We highly recommend this place for families looking for peace and quite, and that enjoy getting close to the nature. We look forward to staying at Greg's listing again!
