A wonderful Sassi experience. Staying in a cave equipped with modern facilities was a valuable experience and my kids loved it. Tiziana and her parents are approachable and gave us useful information on check-in and sight seeing spots. Highly recommended.

Staying in the Historic Center of Matera is like being in a movie, in a story, being part of a story. Undoubtedly an unmissable place in Italy! Marcella's house is a luxury! Better than photos! You can tell that you thought about all the details. For us it was a plus to be super comfortable that the armchair is made 2 separate beds with good mattress as we have a college son and daughter. The location is perfect! In the historic center but very easy to access from the covered parking lot. We checked in with Michele what went to look for us in the parking lot and while he accompanied us to the accommodation he gave us a little walking tour! He told us the history of the city, as the Sassi lived, what to do, like moving around the village, like going to the caves. A genius! Check out we were able to do it autonomously leaving the key in a box outside the house what was for us a plus. Super recommended! We hope to go back!

The Vialetto in the Sassi house carved into the tuff

A lovely authentic cave dwelling. Had everything we needed. A little kitchen where we made our morning eggs, the shower was clean and roomy (important!) and had great water pressure. The bed was comfortable. the location is steps away from some of the most beautiful views in Matera (especially at dusk!). We would happily return.

Linda's place was amazing - it has the most 'personality' of any Air B&B that I have stayed in. As soon as we sent our friends some photos - they were all saying "wow"... I really appreciated Linda giving me some handy hints on where to park our hire car and was glad when she helped me work out how to get her to her place. The mistake we made was relying on the maps link which was not accurate. I know understand that Maps are hard to use in places that are as steep as Matera. Matera was so quiet just before Christmas that we were concerned that nothing was open for dinner. This was our mistake - once 7:30/ 8pm hit, there were many amazing places to eat at. We have recommended Linda's place to some of our friends who now kow about Matera as it is not a usual place on the tourist map for a lot of Aussies doing their whirlwind trips to the other side of the world!

Such a unique place! It had so much character and made for a really special experience. Anna was fantastic, great communication, super responsive, and very accommodating. If you’re looking for the full Matera experience this is the place to stay. Highly recommend!
