Monthly Rentals in Maejima Island

Very comfortable whole apartment in a good and quiet location. The apartment is very well furnished in traditional Japanese style, has a full kitchen, a modern washing machine, a comfortable bathroom. Everything is of excellent standard and well maintained. I can only recommend it. Communication went smooth with hosts. Reply time was excellent. Personally however would have preferred personal contact not anonymously via AirBnB. For Western guests a real chair and a high table would be appreciated.

The accommodation is filled with the care and dedication of the host. I rented a whole house away from home, but it also accommodated two additional people. The breakfast ingredients we asked for were also fresh and the homemade bread and jam were very delicious. It was a pity that we could only stay two nights because the sea was still cold and we couldn't play in the water. I want to come back next time when I canoe. Thank you very much.

The house reflects a traditional Japanese aesthetic and is located in a small, peaceful fishing hamlet. It offers non-Japanese visitors in particular an experiential glimpse into the everyday living environment of Japanese households from the post-WWII era, but with a few strategic updates that help ensure a restful stay. The kitchen is well-equipped and even includes a blender and seed grinder—rarities in Japan. There is an air conditioner/heater and an air purifier. There’s also a small yard and garden area where you can laze away the mornings over a cuppa and a good book. Anshang-sensei is a polite, professional, responsive, friendly, insightful, and helpful host and property manager. The property is strictly for guests staying there, and yet she seamlessly answers questions and helps solve problems as if she were right there with you. Wi-Fi is sufficient and stable. Were we to return to the island, we would stay here again. Thank you so much for hosting us!

Greatly enjoyed stay at Hamada-san’s place. It truly feels like a cozy home, and has every amenity you could wish for. The washing machine came in very handy, and I appreciated having a bike to go around town. Glad I managed to meet Hamada-san and his wonderful dogs before I left. Thank you!
