Vacation rentals in Lower Portobello

Best Airbnb either of us have ever stayed in, in our extensive travels. We are still in disbelief of this home. If you have the chance to stay, do it. We had hesitated to book because there’s so much to do along the South Island, but now we know that this home is worth making the special visit. We will not be forgetting the serenity and beauty of Fallow Ridge: the uninterrupted panoramic view of sheep-dotted mountainside, the warm bath overlooking the sunset, the beautiful fog rolling in and out around the house. We walked along the road and down to the river and never actually went back down into town in our two nights because the property was just too awesome to leave; we recommend you arrive with some groceries as we did, in case you feel the same! The thoughtful details from our hosts made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We were glad to meet David out on a walk and we regret to have not met Sarah, who we wish to also sincerely thank for such a lovely stay!

Everything about our stay was wonderful…except for the weather. But what a beautiful property and a lovely host! We had such a great time. Communication was great and the experience of the stay exceeded our expectations. Would not hesitate to stay again and hope to be back soon.

Just amazing!! Perfect location, short walk/drive into town. Speights Brewery at the bottom of the steep stairs where had 2 amazing meals. Great views. The house itself is so stylish and well done. Loved having the 2 bathrooms. The most comfortable bed that I've ever slept in, lovely bed linens. Everything you need, really felt comfortable and loved it here. Highly recommended.

Really nice, cosy place in a good location, noting we had a party of six overseas travellers. Julie was nice and responsive with all communication and the property was well situated for travellers with transport. Great VFM and would recommend staying there!

Beautiful views and wonderful location. We really enjoyed our stay! Please also note; no coffee maker, furniture is a little more lacking than the photos portray, and the space feels a little older than expected. Otherwise excellent! Thanks again Tamara!

Such a lovely peaceful place to stay and has everything you need to feel right at home. Great location near the beach and local shops. Easy to get into town. Thank you for such a great stay.

Lovely property in prime location. Well presented and clean. Plenty of space for 6 adults. Location was chosen as it was a street away from our sons. Close enough but far enough away. Had a slight hiccup with the tumble dryer as it is a condensing dryer and you need to empty the water tank all the time and it takes an age to dry clothes. Apart from this the house was a home away from home with all that was needed. Thank you

Sylvia's cottage is a real gem. super comfy bed with heated blanket. Bathroom was spotless with plenty of towels. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own food, it was exceptionally well stocked. Lovely front porch where we enjoyed watching the birds come & go. Close to the beach for a lovely stroll, the general store was amazing, we bought our stamps there, wine & a few provisions, the cheese scones were to die for. Judy has thought of everything ( yummy cheese board ) This has been one of the best air b and b's we've ever stayed in. It comes highly recommended. oh, forgot to mention the ping pong table in the garage...delightful.
