John's bungalow is the place I'm always coming back to when in FNQLD. The bungalow is located in the bush full of nature so you can listen to the frogs, geckos and crickets from your bed and watch wallabies from the bathroom window. The place is very clean and comfortable and the owners are some of the frendliest and most helpful people you will meet.

Highly recommended, lovely little home in the rainforest. I loved my stay there. It felt peaceful and private. It was beautiful to sit on the outdoor deck and listen to all the birdlife. There was a big folder jam packed with info of things to do in Kuranda, Cairns and surrounds. I hired an indigenous tour guide, and he did a brilliant job, very special. At night there was a firefly in my room, how very magical indeed. Definitely would return here.

A great location with views over the lakes and the added bonus of the Osprey Nest. Short walk to local park. Handy to drive to nearby attractions or a little further into Cairns CBD just 10 mins away. Neat and tidy, easy to find, all you need.

We loved our stay in Kuranda. However couple of things worth noting are the oven doesn’t really work (the gas kept turning off), and the only aircon upstairs is in the second living area which could be uncomfortable if it was really hot. Also we struggled to find restaurants open for dinner in Kuranda so you may wish to consider cooking at home (on the stove). Despite these minor inconveniences we enjoyed making cheese platters with a drink and sitting on the verandah looking over the fantastic view in the backyard. There are heaps of things to do in the day time in Kuranda, and most activities are within walking distance of the house which was fantastic. It’s a really big beautiful house so would be a great place to stay with a group or family. Thanks for your hospitality Marie 😊
