The Bothy is a wonderful place for both r&r and as a base to explore the wilds of Scotland. It’s incredibly peaceful, cosy, and well located. There are plenty of walks that leave from the front door, as well as some beautiful longer walks a short car ride or cycle away. Susannah was a wonderful host and kept in touch which was much appreciated. Definitely stay here if you can!

What a brilliant place to stay! Unlike most Airbnb’s this one actually is a fully stocked house- all the kitchen needs, cleaning and linen. It was basically like living at home- I was able to do some baking, and we decorated the house for Halloween. The area is lovely and quiet. The house warms up really well too. Easy walk into town, and Forfar is only a 10 minute drive. Beds were super comfy and sheets changed each week (thanks Joyce!). There are some games and toys for kids to play with, and a great little backyard for them to run around in. Living room closes off so kids can sleep in the bedroom while parents watch TV in the living room. Everything was spotless and you can tell it has been cared for. A wonderful home away from home!

A lovely cottage away from the town, set amongst wonderful wildlife and dark night skies. The cottage was very comfortable and welcoming with a stocked wood pile, good heating and hot water, as well as a fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils you expect. It was all you imagine about an old country cottage which retained some old features from the past but has been updated to ensure that you wanted for nothing. It is definitely a place I will return to again.

A beautiful setting, and such a friendly and helpful host. It's even better than the lovely photos would suggest, and we had such a warm, cosy, comfortable January night there. Best night's sleep for a good while, and so nice to wake up to the variety of wildlife outside. Everything we needed was there and more. Great area and enjoyed a beautiful, scenic walk the next day - after a delicious soup in Edzell! Many thanks to our host, Bonny
