A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. It was clean snug and warm and had everything we needed to make it a memorable weekend. Diana is very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home straight away I would thoroughly recommend it

The cottage was very cosy and catered for all our needs. The cottage is in a great location for The Lakeland Trial we had come to see and we enjoyed the walks and the scenery. Had a wonderful week staying in the Spinney. The location is perfect - away from everything it gives the chance to relax and reset. Plenty of wildlife about for nature lovers - it’s a paradise! Lovely walks and lakes nearby as well as some nice small towns all within driving distance. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others!

Lovely stay at Alan and Gillian's cottage! The location is fantastic, right on the water and so close to town but also very private feeling. Alan was very responsive to messages and kind enough to even come find us when we had trouble locating the proper parking area. The cottage was well-stocked and just as described. We only used one of the bedrooms, but it was comfy. Our pets enjoyed the garden, but it might not be ideal for daring pups who want to jump in! We also loved the wood furnace, with coal and kindling provided (we brought our own larger logs). We stayed warm! The area is full of restaurants and pubs, with a Sainsbury's only minutes walk away. We no issue with WiFi and were able to explore the Lake District without issue. Plenty of walks within 20-30 minute drive! The only negative thing was an occasional slight damp smell, which my husband didn't even notice - understandable when so close to water, though. Overall, it was a great stay and we highly recommend to others!
