Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Hawaiian Islands

We loved staying at this magical treehouse. Falling asleep to the sound of birds, wildlife, and occasional rain at night was so peaceful. We slept so well! It was incredible to be immersed in nature but to also have great WiFi, very hot water, and a washing machine. We loved the indoor/ outdoor bathrooms and the beautiful woodwork in the house. Beds were super comfortable and the hammock was awesome. Joe is an excellent host. We hope to be back!

Upon arrival, the hostess was extremely quick to answer a question I had. The home was easy to find and located close to town, which met our needs perfectly. The house was immaculate and cutely decorated with local touches. My only suggestion to potential renters is to only bring 1-2 vehicles since parking is limited and you share a driveway with another home. We had 3 cars and it was a tight squeeze, however, we made it work. I would definitely rent this home again for my next visit to Kona!

Had a great stay at Lindsay’s! Loved how close it was to the north shore, food trucks, and swimmable beaches. Neighborhood was lovely and the place was clean and comfortable.

Lucky to grab this location for a few days. Accommodations were great for three parties of folks. Especially great one couple could bring their dog. Unfortunately, we missed the volcano eruptions, which started the day we checked out for home. They seemed to have everything you might need and super cozy, including the reclining couch sections were comfortable enough to sleep in!!

W enjoyed our stay. While somewhat out of the way from Hilo, it was a great spot for enjoying Volcano National Park and the south of the island. It was a very private area. The coqui frogs were loud but we expected it. It was very comfy and had what we needed. The place cooked off work at night with windows open and the fans going Doug was very helpful and offered some great suggestions of places to see. We wish that we had more time!

Great place to stay, especially with little ones. Has everything you need for beach days. Hosts were accommodating, home was clean.

Our family of 6 spanning 3 generations had a lovely time at the Lime House. The home was spacious and the backyard was private and peaceful. The location was perfect for our group and we all enjoyed our stay very much. My 3 year old grandson told me repeatedly that we were already home when we started discussing our plans to leave, we all felt like it was a home away from home.

We really enjoyed our stay here at the plantation it was so peaceful. Such a great place to stay at. Would love to come back in the future. Thank you sue for everything!

Timmy’s listing was very accurate and he was very responsive! - Awesome location and apartment was well thought out (efficient use of space, lots of storage for clothes, toiletries, other belongings, etc). - Really appreciated the beach accessories provided (sand toys, boogie boards, small cooler, 1 beach chair) There were even 2 umbrella strollers. - Beautiful views when waking up in the morning. Kitchen was good for simple meals (hot plate available) Stayed with 2 young kids and would stay there again for the value.

Clean & Simple! Everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location could not be any better, perfect walking distance from Kihei night life and multiple beach fronts to choose from!

Great location for the price. Close to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. Perfect place for couples. Peter was responsive. Parking is the biggest problem as the hotel has very limited parking and we were never able to park at the complex. This sould be stressed a little more in the description if folks are planning to have a car. Would definitely come back.

Della and Max were very friendly and nice. They were very helpful with checking-in our room when we had trouble. They both shared a bucket full of fresh off-the-tree macadamia nuts which were delicious! Max shared some local suggestions with us as well. It is a quite place and isn't too far outside of Kona. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The view was amazing and the ability to open the windows and let the fresh air flow through the unit was very appreciated and added to the appeal of the space. Ash was incredibly helpful and answered any questions that I had in a timely manner. I look forward to coming back and hopefully this space will be available again!!

We travel frequently with our teenage/ adult kids using Airbnb or other home rental services. We've only come upon a handful of hosts and homes that really seem to understand the needs of the traveler. Priscilla and Rob's home is one of them! I unfortunately did not get to meet Priscilla on this trip, but Rob went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and yet also give us our privacy. The home is clean, organized and has all the essentials and more to make meals, and enjoy your time. The hosts provided a lovely welcome gift of food items for breakfast and snacks, as well as some beautiful produce items. If you know how expensive groceries are in Hawaii, it tells a lot about the generosity and caring of the hosts. Thank you Rob and Priscilla for a wonderful week! We made wonderful memories.

The apartment was exactly as described and just what we needed. Just a 10 min walk into the heart of waikiki, with lots to do and see close by. The added bonus of having parking included was invaluable, and the host’s instructions and communication were clear throughout our stay. They were so accommodating and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The parking garage has a clearance of 6’6” which is actually a little taller than a few other parking garages we found during our stay. Thank you so much, we’ll definitely be back!!

Stayed here for a week with my boyfriend and it was exactly what we wanted! Felt private and comfortable - we loved the little touches like the local coffee and granola left for us. Highly recommend taking the bikes out on the bike path and borrowing the snorkeling gear! Made our trip 10/10

Very pleasant

Great stay in Kihei. Everything you need is there. Many good restaurants and shops within walking distance. Easy walk to beach too. The only drawback is the lanai overlooks restaurant parking lot with the beach across the street. There is a fair amount of noise from many deliveries every day.

This condo was the perfect spot for my wife and I to stay while we visited ALL of Maui. In a great location, had the pool to relax, activities to stay busy, and was in a location that made all of Maui accessible. They had all the necessities needed to make a beach trip worth it, and even tennis rackets that we were able to use on the private tennis courts. Countless time we said we were so happy with our choice of stay. We can only hope to make it back someday!

Julianne is a great host. Very responsive, gave recommendations. I felt that if I needed something she would be there to help. Her place has all the amenities you could want. Lots of bath/beach towels, utensils, appliances, dishes, pots/pans etc. There were boogie boards, beach chairs, snorkels/masks/fins and an umbrella as well. The location is 4 minutes from Kahalu'u beach which is great for snorkeling. Five minutes from Kona/shopping/restaurants. The little beach across the street was nice for watching the sunset. Pool was great with lots of chairs/lounges. Hot tub wasn't always hot. The vacant lot that the condo overlooks was great for me as I am a bird watcher and there was no shortage of parakeets, and other Hawaiian birds. There are roosters though that start vocalizing at 4:30am so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs. Beds were soft and comfy and the sofa with chaise in the living room was great for evenings.

An incredible location and quality furniture that we all appreciated when we arrived after long flights. Walkable to everything you could possibly need. Megan was extremely responsive and helpful. Hands down 10/10.

Keisha's place was great. All instructions on how to find the place and get in were very clear and easy to understand. The place was squeaky clean and very nice. We enjoyed spending most mornings on the outside back patio area. It is a peaceful location, and within walking distance of numerous restaurants and attractions. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and we would recommend this place to anyone.

What a wonderful place to stay. The kitchen was well stocked. We loved the large bottles of shampoo and conditioner. The pool area is absolutely beautiful. We would stay again in a heartbeat. We loved the ease of access to the grocery store. The beach is beautiful, even saw a seal sunning himself just feet from our condo. Jann made sure that our stay was fabulous.

I rarely review stays but Mitchell’s place was top notch. There are lots of Airbnb where you wonder how the host ever lived there. At Mitchell’s, it felt like a home away from home. It was the first place that had fully stocked all the amenities and had thoughtful additions such as: enough towel racks, lots and lots of towels, extension cords everywhere, TV in the bedroom, rice cooker, and more. Plus the place had everything exactly as described: fitness center, pool, BBQs, free parking, private lanai, ocean view, and coin (app) laundry. Wonderful place and great work on keeping it fresh. One minor issue not related to the place but to the season: during our stay in early October was renovation season so there was a ton of construction noise during the day time.
