Beachfront vacation rentals in Hawaiian Beaches

This was an awesome place! We loved our stay here and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip around the island. We were planning on getting out and doing more in Hilo while here, but decided to skip it and spend more time at the house and the beach.

If you're looking for the perfect vacation, get away, then this is your place. It is remote, relaxing, quiet and romantic. It's away from all the hustle of normal tourists and high prices of Hawaii. Above all, Howard and Greg are the upmost hosts. They are above and beyond the expectations of any hosts that I've ever encountered. Howard took us to the local spots like Uncle Roberts', the local drum circle, and restaurants in the area. The black sand beach is a 5-minute walk from the house, and we witnessed several whale sightings. The outdoor shower and bath are a must! Howard informed us that Kilauea was erupting. We immediately took off and witnessed the most amazing display that nature has to offer. She only erupted for 22 hours so it was an absolute stunning experience. You will not be disappointed with this Airbnb. Tip...skip the hotels and Kona and book here instead! Thank you, Greg and Howard!

We stayed 4 days here with extended family in the smaller home on the same property and it was great. The kitchen was well stocked, there was plenty of space for our family of 5 (larger group was 10 total) to spread out. The best part was the beach across the road with good snorkeling (stronger currents so be careful) and lagoon with turtles. Plenty of outdoor gear to borrow- SUP, kayaks, small boogie boards, water shoes and snorkel/fins. Would definitely stay here again.

Janice was so helpful and fully detail on the house. The place is perfect and beautiful. To wake up to the sunrise and the crashing of the waves you will get a peaceful sleep and wake up full energized. This is one place you want to stay and worth every $$$$!!!!

Great place, literally paces from a BEAUTIFUL lagoon and beach filled with turtles and fish. Nice quiet road dotted with 4 or 5 beaches/parks, and about a 3 mile drive to the shops/grocery stores to keep the kitchen stocked. Also had a French press so we could enjoy our fresh Kona coffee every day.

I was there with my boyfriend for the week. The location was great! Within walking distance g distance to great restaurants and the best farmers market I’ve ever been to. The views are absolutely stunning. Watching the sunrise in the morning was so beautiful. We felt right at home. I would definitely stay there again! Thank you so much Carla and Joe! It was a little slice of heaven there.

Beautiful home and wonderful host. We had everything we needed or could ask for. Mari was a perfect host answering any questions, providing many local recommendations and even met us at checkin to show us her home. The view was magnificent, opening the doors in the morning and sipping on coffee on the deck watching the sun rise was my daily ritual. It was a nice surprise to have chairs and snorkeling equipment available to us. Grocery and Walmart minutes away for quick pickup items. The must see sights were just 10-20 minutes away. We visited the caves, snorkeling in the bay, national park and the gardens.

Paradise Waits is true to its name! We had a lovely stay here, enjoying the beautiful surroundings and luxurious amenities. We delighted in cooling off in the pool, and also enjoyed soaking in the hot tub. Suzie went out of her way to make sure that we had everything that we needed. Mahalo!

I enjoyed every day of my month long stay! The view of Carlsmith Park from the room was great. If you feel like it all you have to do is walk practically only 100 feet and you have some great snorkeling. The place is a short drive from downtown Hilo. The one thing I would draw attention to is the lack of AC however using the screen door you get a sea breeze off the water which works out. Sometimes I had to use a fan but the fan paired with the sea breeze was more than comfortable. All in all I would definitely recommend this place

Mika Kai is beautiful. The ocean views are mesmerizing. Being able to walk out on to the cliffs to catch the sea spray and see the turtles, was phenomenal. The hot tub and pool are delightful! Four spacious bedrooms each with its own bath. A great kitchen dining area. We had a wonderful stay and the hosts were very responsive all our questions or requests- Amber and Terry went over and above. Be aware that the close neighbors on one side are very, very close. They seemed to spend an inordinate amount of time watching our group when outdoors, and reported to the hosts any discomfort that they felt. Our host did their best to mitigate the impact of the neighbors.

Great stay! Very relaxing and peaceful place. Place had everything we needed from cooking, grilling, relaxing in the pool overlooking the ocean and wifi/TV. Stayed in other Air bnb’s in this area. So far the has been the best by far. Clean, comfortable and plenty of room. Check in was easy and accommodating for our early arrival. Thanks again for a great vacation, we will be back!

Sonja and Alex are exemplary Airbnb hosts! They are thoughtful and attentive. We could not have asked for more! If you are going to the Big Island, do yourself a favor and stay in this beautiful oasis. My husband and I had an amazing time, Sonja and Alex left chocolates and fresh island fruits in our space and made us feel 100% at home. Future visits to Hawaii (big island) will be spent here. Better than the photos. So comfy, beautiful and peaceful. Was great for my family including a 1 year old. The beach nearby is phenomenal (bit of steep walk down) for those with mobility concerns). Already planning to rebook!

We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful ocean view. We even heard the whales at night! The location was convenient to Hilo and Volcanoes National Park. It was a treat to be here when the volcano started erupting. A bonus! Well apportioned and clean. Thank you!

Wow, what an amazing place to stay on the Big Island! The view is even better than the pictures. Listening to the waves crashing and watching for whales from the deck was a highlight of our trip. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals at home. There is so much to see and explore on the Big Island but each day we looked forward to returning to this beautiful home in the evening to relax. Thank you so much for allowing us to experience this wonderful place!

Lovely suite in a house, very nice quiet neighborhood only a few minutes from town

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy and well-appointed home! The highlight was undoubtedly the stunning tropical ocean view—we even spotted whales and dolphins right from the deck! The location is fantastic, just a short walk to a breathtaking black sand beach (clothing-optional), though swimming is best for strong swimmers. The home is comfortable and has everything needed for a relaxing stay. As expected in the tropics, the environment can be a bit tough on materials, but that’s just part of the charm of being in such a beautiful, natural setting. The host communicated really well and has done a great job keeping the space welcoming and well-equipped. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway immersed in nature, this is a fantastic spot. We would absolutely stay again!

Incredible place and prime locations. Just walk across the street and you're at the beach. Walk a little to the left and you're at another beach with a huge wading pool. Kids loved snorkeling there. And, although I didn't know at the time of booking, the side and backyard is huge with lush tropical plants. Felt like we were in Costa Rica! As previous guests mentioned, the upstairs is apart from downstairs, with a separate side entrance (they are not connected). But there are no visible neighbors due to all the trees, so I don't know why other reviewers mentioned neighbors being loud. Such is not the case at all; but the beach across the street is public, so it gets crowded during the day. Felt completely safe the whole time.

Great quiet place to stay. Large covered lanai at both front and back of house. Quiet area and friendly neighbors. Large kitchen, good fridge and a few extras in cupboard including spices. Great view of ocean and saw whales both in the distance and closer to shore because of sharp drop off of the ocean floor close to land. If you needed a few supplies "da store" wasn't too far away (still 2-3 miles) or the town of Pahoa 8 or 10. King Bed was softer but I actually found very comfortable. Nice having on suite. Loved our stay and found Richard to be a great host.

Beautiful location. Bit of a drive to town, but the quiet location was well worth it! Spectacular view, can watch the sunrise over the ocean from back door! Lovely place, would stay again in a heartbeat!
