Vacation rentals in Hilo

Joshua had thought of everything. The welcome gifts and fruit were a lovely touch. The flashlights and binoculars made our night walk to see the lava glow. Rain shower was a new experience. The extra food in the cupboard meant we didn't have to go back out for supplies when we forgot on the way in, thank you! Mosquito punks and bug spray...everything we needed was there. My wife was hopeful for a hair drier and maybe a camp toaster would be good for the gas stove--I only mention these because this host I bet is the kind who would want to continuously improve. It's a little out of the way but a great experience and much easier to get up to the park than from Hilo. Aloha from the Chapmans. We were able to share in some amazing memories while in Hilo. Suzy was great, responsive and accommodating. The property was serene and centered with nature, which is exactly what we needed. Thank you.

This place is a great home base for exploring Volcanoes National Park and the Hamakua coast. The house was exactly as pictured. We had no major issues. It did get a little warm in there at night but it was air conditioned with wall mounted and window units. It’s located right off of the main road but was quiet at night. The view is next level…literally right on Hilo Bay. Truly beautiful. Super close to downtown Hilo. You could walk if you want but you’d have to go over the Hilo Bay bridge which can be busy. Jordan was a great host…responsive and extremely helpful. Overall I would recommend this place as a quality jumping off point for exploring this half of the Big Island.

Clean, functional space. Amanda answered all questions promptly. We had privacy in our suite and we were a 7 min drive from Hilo town : ) great Airbnb !

We had a great stay, nice home to come back to. Easy trip to Volcano National Park which we took advantage of several times!

Scott’s place is a peaceful retreat just steps from the beach, with stunning ocean views right from the balcony. The surrounding area is beautifully natural and serene—perfect for relaxing and unwinding. While it’s a bit removed from restaurants and services, having a rental car makes exploring the area easy and convenient. Inside, the apartment is exceptionally well organized—everything is thoughtfully arranged, easy to find, and feels welcoming. Overall, a wonderful place to stay. Highly recommended! – Terry

We are so happy that we chose Volcano Hidden Cottage for our home while we explored Volcanoes National Park! The cottage is gorgeous, and the setting is idyllic- completely private and quiet. The only sounds we heard were from the wildlife, who lulled us to sleep each night. We enjoyed spending time out on the large deck, surrounded by lush greenery. The cottage is very comfortable, and we slept so well! We feel lucky to have been able to stay at such a wonderful place that is just minutes from the park entrance. Thank you, Brenda!

Mahalo for everything. I felt at home with Delia & Kim from the very beginning. Their loving nature and the effort they put into everything is extraordinary. I'll never forget the Big Island for several reasons, and staying with Delia and her family is definitely one of them. The location is worth its weight in gold for anyone seeking peace and quiet.
