Monthly Rentals in Cave Creek Canyon

The goal was to unplug from our busy lives for the weekend, and John & Cathy’s place was absolutely perfect to do just that! We felt right at home, the place was just so cozy. They provided an incredibly detailed “instruction manual”, which covered topics ranging from how to use the AC and the ROKU remote to where to get groceries and possible daytrips. This location is very remote, so that came in handy - and so did the full kitchen! No need to leave the place if you don’t feel like it. The highlight, of course, was when John hosted a starparty for us in one of his 3 observatories right in the backyard. Even though the moon was a little bright, he showed us so many amazing things, all with a detailed explanation of what we were looking at. Next time we’ll make sure to visit during a new moon, so we can see even more - because we definitely plan on coming back!

We had a fabulous, peaceful stay. The birds were wonderful, so very many of them. The feeding stations set up behind Quailway Cottage not only called the birds in, but also called in the javelina. There were constant visits from both. We even had our own bird feed supply to add to the fun. The cottage was clean and cozy and had everything we needed. Rhonda was away and we were sad to be unable to meet her. We cannot say enough good things about Mike. We had a tire problem and he had a handy gadget that he lent us to put air into the tire. He referred us to a "local' tire guy for additional help if we needed it. Additionally, he shared a lot of information about the area and where to find things. Portal is an amazing place. We met so many wonderful birders, many of them retired scientists, during our hikes. The night sky was breathtaking. We highly recommend this airbnb as well as a visit to Portal.

I have stayed at Kellye's place multiple times and everytime is wonderful! It is a comfortable and beautiful spot . It is marvelous that you are willing to share your historically significant property with others!

A wonderful house in a stargazers paradise. Spotlessly clean with a view of Cave Creek Canyon from every room. I loved the SW art work especially the pottery which added a classy touch. Morning coffee and warm sun on the deck. Evening sunset on the deck on the other side of the house facing Cave Creek. This is a special home that displays love and care. Portal is a few miles drive and Cave Creek Canyon a few miles further. After a day of exploring I couldn’t wait to come back and relax in comfort. Ive stayed at many rentals and this place stands out as one of the best. I’ll return and tell others.
