Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Canterbury

Such a lovely place to stay in Tekapo. Only 10 min walk to the lake, 15 min to the restaurants cafe supermarket. Lots of privacy, just in harmony with nature, lot of birds. The place was impeccable, clean, tidy and well furnished. We will definitely go back again!! Thank you Tracey!

We stayed only 1 evening and loved it; just wished we could stay more days. Creighton and Shannon's place in Kirwee was definitely one of the best places to stay. It is new house, off a quiet street, in a new development. Everything was clean, well thought out, comfortable, and super clean! Thanks for help making our vacation in New Zealand so much more wonderful with such a lovely stay.

We had a lovely stay at Carla's place. The house was spacious, very clean and modern. It had everything and more that you could need in the kitchen. The TV was large, shower was wonderful and beds were comfortable. Communication was great. It had a great view and was walking distance to the town centre. We would definitely recommend Carla's place.

Atypical and charming place. Our kids loved sleeping in the old stagecoach garage with the horse stools on display as decoration. Mike and Linda were very welcoming and showed us around the property which has many surprises in store! Despite the rainy weather we had a lovely time!

We travelled to Ashburton, Des’ house with our two young grandchildren for our other Granddaughters 5th birthday. Des was awesome to deal with, the house was perfect for us, trampoline, seesaw for the kids, it more than met our requirements and was just around the corner from our families home, Perfect.

Spectacular views and very comfortable for my trip with my adult children. This home offered all that we needed, loved the scrabble and the bird book. Wonderful instructions to make our trip getting there seamless and easy check-in.

Suntrap indeed! Followed it from sunrise til sunset on different decks. Comfy beds. Gorgeous bathroom. Big back yard. Easy walk into town. Love the ‘vintage/ retro’ bits and bobs. Great host

We often stay in Punakaiki but decided to give Te Miko a go. Well worth it and great to have the short walk to join Truman Track. Only a few minutes drive to Punakaiki but a nice private spot in the trees. There are other houses around but you can barely see them, only their lights at night.

The place was really nice, just as I'd hoped. I'd stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you.

We've been there for one day, for a nice barbeque with friends and a hot-tub session. The apartment was really clean and we felt comfortable. Chris and Julie are friendly and courteous. We recommend this accommodation!

This property is perfect and Gaye was a fantastic host. The view of Lake Tekapo and Mount John from the balcony was spectacular. The neighborhood is safe and quiet yet just a few blocks from everything in the village. The chalet itself and the entire village are incredibly clean. There are spectacular views of the night skies from either of two balconies — or guided tours ($) from at least 3 sources. We watched the full lunar eclipse from along the lake and wish we could stay for a month. We highly recommend!

Well the pictures instantly appealed- but it’s much larger in real life. The accessibility for me of being able to check in at 9pm was very helpful and as I had a lot of gear with me having the door at the front was very useful for loading and unloading. The details in the memrobilia were very interesting and yet a classic collection that was visually appealing A very classy apartment. Also much warmer and quieter that I had expected.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The space was immaculately clean and the beds were amazingly comfortable. The host was incredibly responsive and thoughtful. Perfect location with epic views across to Mt Hutt. Would definitely book again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Stayed in early March 2025. J and G provided a very comfortable home-like feel in this beautiful location overlooking the beach, which is about a 10-minute walk down the hill. The views out the back window to the east are beautiful, and the central living area is very usable, with a deck attached and plenty of windows to soak in the views. The location is within a 30-minute drive of central Christchurch. We should have stayed longer than two days here!

Second time we’ve stayed here while visiting Hanmer with family, and another great place to stay. Very close to downtown and the water park. Only shortfall is dishes, glasses and cups are very limited, so you’ll need to hand wash before you come close to filling the dishwasher. Hand to believe they don’t stock more than six of each item.

Maree hosts a fantastic, beautiful, comfortable renovated villa home in a superb location that remains private and serene. She was a great host and I could not recommend staying here highly enough.

This home is in a beautiful and serene setting. It was about 1.5h from Christchurch airport and was the perfect antidote to the craziness of flying. At night, the only thing we could hear was the breeze and the gentle rain. I’d love to stay for a week. Annie was incredibly friendly and the welcome basket with homemade granola was tops. The basket also included potato chips made from the potatoes grown on the property! The kitchen was amazingly well stocked and my kid got to try Milo for the first time.

Perfect for what we needed. Super homey and Steve was super thoughtful and helpful.

Absolutely amazing house - large new and extremely well furnished in an excellent location close to everything Hanmer has to offer.

We had such a restful and relaxing time at Caroline's house. The view is SO much more incredible in the flesh than the pictures. The water is always changing and when the sun rose the entire bay was crimson. The house is extremely tasteful, the veranda is beautiful, and very well appointed. The fire was very cosy. I wish we had had more time to stay longer.

Spectacular view and comfort. Janice had every detail covered. Directions were excellent. Very easy to find location. The inside and outside was gorgeous. Beds were comfortable. Water was hot. Hot tub jets and temperature was ideal. Very spacious (there were 7 of us … from 30’s to 60 years old). Janice was prompt in responding and thorough. Close to town … restaurants, bars, shopping, grocery stores, gas stations, Dusky dolphin snorkeling, kayaking, sightseeing fur seals, zip lining and so much more. We HIGHLY recommend Janice’s place.
