Bungalow vacation rentals in Borneo

Eric’s unit is very spacious and we have a pleasant stay here! Eric is very responsive and we love the this house. Everything we need is there. Most importantly, every room is equipped with hair dryer and there’s washing machine in this house! I would definitely recommend this house especially for those who are travelling in big group. Would definitely come back again if I ever go back to Sabah for a trip in the future!:) thank you, Eric for hosting us!:)

The bungalow is very spacious and ideal for large groups. Its location is convenient, and the host is highly responsive. However, one area for improvement would be the bathroom, which could benefit from some upgrades.

A beautiful place Within the heart of Kota Kinabalu. Free from the Hustle and Bustle. This is the best homestay i habe ever stayed in Kota Kinabalu So far. Jacqkie is a kind hearted host and is very helpful. Definitely will come back here again and recommend it to everyone out there to come here.

Breath taking view from the villa. Clean n tidy place to stay. Margaret is a very helpful and friendly host. She often care about our needs and provide great recommendation. She gave us 100% privacy and assure our stay is comfortable. Just have to be alert if you have young n active kids in the top room. Other wise all perfect.

There are no words for how beautiful Maratua is! Jun and Ana were amazing hosts -- we spent our very short 3-day stay snorkeling (the marine life right outside the guesthouse is incredible!) and on Kakaban Island. Jun and Ana lent us all the snorkeling gear and Amelia helped facilitate our stay before and after. Be aware that there isn't wifi or an ATM on the island, so come prepared! All in all, a magical stay, and I can't wait to return!

Greenish surroundings! Friendly owner and helper! The person who works in the building gave us papaya! He was so nice! Plus the house is very big! 5 large rooms with very large dining area! Each room has toilet?!!! lol that’s really amazing. I feel lucky to be able to rent the house even just for awhile cuz I have a very big family 😭❤️ the parking lot can fit up to 5-6 cars under the house lol the house near to the city, and shopping mall with 10min drive only. Everything was so smooth. I will come again! One more thing , THE INTERNET WAS UNIFI 5g!!! It’s frigging fasttttt, every night I game with my friends online smoothly! ❤️❤️😭 you can cook too, wash clothes and everything in that house is complete with everything you need! ❤️❤️ Thank you very much for letting me stay in your house.

House is quite big and spacious. The host is really friendly and able to respond fast for our request. Also the owner willing to go extra miles to add in more equipment for cooking and provide us drinking waters. Since it's a family trips, sharing of 1 toilet with heater for this occasion is workable but might be a bit challenging for different groups or individual. Overall we are satisfied with the stay.

We had an amazing time here! Before Arrival Our relaxing vacation started when we booked our bungalow at Sea Dragon Adventures - AB sent us a detailed “Almost everything you need to know” packet - an informative packet with everything you need to know about the stay there (over 1500 words on getting to the Airbnb from Kota Kinabalu airport, to items to bring, and things to). In addition, AB’s clear and quick responses to our questions were very helpful while we planned our KK trip. We arrived at the Airbnb with no worries about our stay. During Our Stay It is very difficult to explain the experience we had at the Sea Dragon Adventures because quite literally, words do no justice in conveying how much we enjoyed our 4D3N. But I will try. Location - everyday was a photoshoot day First off, the location is perfect. It is 5-10 min boat ride off a coast(only way to get there) therefore the Airbnb gives off a secluded private beach vibe (which is true - there are currently only two SDA bungalows on the location). EVERY PART OF THE AIRBNB IS PICTURESQUE- the bungalow, beach with clear water, Santai Café, hammock at the beach - we especially loved seeing the exceptional sunsets that showed different colors every day. On our first day, when there was little cloud, we could clearly see the sun setting. On our second day, sky was filled with cloud during sunset hours and the entire sky turned pink reflecting all the sun lights. On our third day, we could see the sun beaming orange lasers through the clouds. I have seen many beautiful sunsets but these have been one of my favorites. Activities - so little time With Sea Dragon Adventures being on a remote island, we initially thought 3 nights there would be enough to enjoy but we couldn’t have been more wrong. Like people have mentioned in their reviews, there is so many things to do as there are beach and jungle. You can spend a day doing a short hike up the jungle located at the back of the bungalow, SUP-ing to the Snake Island (about 1km one way), getting tanned at the beach, chilling/reading at the hammock by the beach, hanging out with the dogs and cats that are very playful. As most areas being off the grid (there are some areas where you can get signal but we recommend putting away your phone during your stay) we thought time would pass by slowly but on the last day of our stay, we regretted not doing more days there (hint, hint). Stay/Hospitability - home away from home Every meal was home cooked and delicious. The meals included local Malaysian and Western dishes ranging from French toast to a big seafood BBQ. We devoured them. But what makes this Airbnb remarkable are the hosts Martini and AB - the warmest hospitality and the wealth of knowledge they have! As mentioned above, we were fully prepared for our stay at Sea Dragon Adventures thanks to the very very detailed packet even though it was our first Airbnb experience. Once we were on location, Martini was there to help us with everything. She was very helpful in planning our spontaneous trip giving us tips and arranging our rides to the Kawa Kawa river cruise. Also, when we had a minor problem with shower (which can happen in any location) it was immediately fixed, which shows how attentive she is to guests’ needs. We enjoyed hearing Martini and AB’s stories as they themselves have been and are travelers. So in a nutshell, Sea Dragon Adventures is an extraordinary Airbnb, hosted by Martini and AB, travelers themselves who know what guests look for in an exceptional vacation. I would 100% recommend to friends and family and to people who are looking for a relaxing, active and private place looking to spend some serene time. I can see the place being suitable for couples, friends, and families. Thank you Martini and AB for an amazing time! We hope to return soon :)

My stay at Brahminy Kite in Kota Kinabalu was fantastic. The host was incredibly supportive and made sure everything was perfect. The view is breathtaking, and the privacy of the place made it a peaceful retreat. One thing I loved was how clean the whole area was no mosquitoes or flies, even outside. It was such a pleasure to relax without any disturbances. I highly recommend this homestay for anyone looking for a serene and comfortable getaway.
