Monthly Rentals in Auchencairn

We have just returned from a fabulous week's holiday at Craigroan, in the beautiful village of Rockcliffe. A wonderful place for peace and relaxation, gorgeous scenery and coastal walks. We were very lucky with the weather but I think I'd still be happy in the rain. Craigroan is a pretty and cosy, compact cottage which makes good use of its space with a spacious kitchen to dine in and appliances to support an easy holiday. The large comfortable conservatory boasts lovely countryside views and colourful sunsets. The garden was a good size with seating to enjoy both the morning and afternoon sun. A hot and cold outside shower for our large muddy dog was very useful. Hilary was an attentive, helpful host with good communication. We'd recommend the Anchor Hotel Kippford and the Crab Pot, Sandyhills for lunch and the lovely Garden Tea room for coffee and cake in Rockcliffe itself. We'd lovely to visit the area again and would happily return to Craigroan. It was an extremely relaxing stay.

Prepare to be astounded when you arrive at Auchengashell. The scenery across the Solway Firth to the Lakes District is breathtaking and it just gets better from there. We were a group of 7 adults and our time at Auchengashell will stay with us forever. The house is beautiful. Spacious, comfortable, beautifully decorated and has everything you need. The gardens and surrounds are peaceful, tranquil, well kept and the wildlife will keep you entertained for hours. Red squirrels, pheasants, deer, Guinea fowl. The walks around the property and surrounds are well worth doing and the gardens are a delight. If you meet William and his dogs on your walk, you’re in for a treat as he tells you about the history of the estate and the inspiration for some of the garden art and installations. It really was an exceptional experience. Thank you Melinda and family for sharing your slice of heaven with us.

As this was a return visit to Susan's house we knew what to expect. It's in a quiet spot just off the High Street and parking is fine. It's in a great position to explore the town and beyond and has everything needed for a relaxing holiday.
