Houseboat vacation rentals in Westeinderplassen

We had a wonderful stay on the houseboat! The amenities were great and everything was clean and the living room, as well as the dining room were very cozy. Perfect for relaxing and enjoying. We will be happy to come back!

There were four of us on Jan's houseboat. The boat is in a quiet area, close to the Olympic center. Just outside, to the center of Amsterdam by metro about 20 minutes. The houseboat was cozy and clean, Jan personally greeted us on the first day and the contact was very nice. There are 4 bicycles available, but we did not use them as the Dutch have too fast a driving style...🫣 we had 4 great days in Amsterdam and on the houseboat.

Kay and Santiago were extremely helpful and hospitable, they were highly responsive and very accomodating when we asked about leaving our baggage at the property + checking out late. The houseboat is in a lovely location, close to public transport but also easily walkable to different suburbs and surrounding areas. It is exactly as listed, easily accessible and comfortable for 4 people to stay in. Santiago was kind enough to send a very helpful list of recommendations for the city, would definitely recommend and hope to book here again.

We stayed at Anouks boat house in the winter so didn't really have the time or daylight to explore with the boat but I imagine spring and summer would be great, the boathouse was aways warm and spacious, plenty of room for 4 of us. We all loved the boathouse and would definitely recommend it.The train station was a short walk and the trains were very regular, so no problems getting to and from the city.

Everything went well. We had a very nice time in Amsterdam. The boat is in a very beautiful and peaceful neighborhood. Everything was as expected.

We were so lucky to be able to stay in such a beautiful place! The beds were comfy, the surroundings were peaceful and beautiful... it was a lovely escape from the busy, city-center. We LOVED the use of the kitchen and the deck just off the kitchen. Hein was so good to have bikes available for us. There is little available directly near the home but a 10 minute bike ride along the lovely road and over the bridge gets you to all you could want. We were sad to leave our Amsterdam home and will hope Hein's home is available when we return.

We spent a family holiday with our two awakening children in Justin's floating house between Christmas and New Year's Eve. It was ideal to have time together in peace. The house is clean and modernly furnished, the heating is wonderfully warm even in winter and you have everything you need. Most of the time we took a trip to Rotterdam, Amsterdam or the sea during the day, which is only 30-45 min. away. In the evening we cooked, played, read or watched a movie in the house. Everything was great, and highly recommend it.

Easy to find. Host speaks only Dutch, but has prepared well with a translation app. The location is very quiet and you can walk to the bus to Amsterdam

Coming from German heritage, I really felt at home at the water villa. My grandfather and father always kept manicured landscapes at their houses, everything was so organized and pristine surroundings.- this describes the water villa to a tee. The water side was so serene- close enough and walkable to many restaurants, bike rental etc… and far enough away from the busy canal traffic. The outdoor space cannot be matched, as the garden area is just as nice as the waterside lounge. Host was very good in communication and check in and out was a breeze. I would love to bring my parents here next year, my kids and I had such a memorable time! …what a great and unique experience!

Surprisingly pracefull place in the middle of an industrial and bussines aerea. Some trees, water around, free parking - for even two cars. Close by Utrecht, just lovely. We have enjoyed peace and family gathering surrounded by water and ducks. Comfortable beds, good equieped kitchen, even dishwasher. It was a nice week.

Our stay at Claire’s place was nothing short of magical. The location is hard to beat in the heart of Jordaan, steps away from great Dutch cafes, every restaurant we ate at was within a ten minute walk, every one was fantastic. As well as minutes walk from transit. Somehow though being in the middle of everything, being on the water in this houseboat makes you feel like you’re in your own private oasis. Claire has great taste, her home is designed impeccably, with one of the major highlights being the record player, listening to classics like the Beatles, Bowie, The Doors while sitting on the back porch taking in the incredible view of the canal. Bonus was the most efficient washer dryer I used during my 3 week stay in Europe and the large dishwasher. Had we stayed longer, we would have cooked, there was a fully stocked Chefs kitchen. Thanks for the perfect end to our adventure!

We returned for a second long stay and it is still wonderful! Great location just far enough out of Centrum to be missing all the tourists but still close enough to easily get in there every day. Liz is a terrific communicator and it is super easy to get in and out. The house boat is very comfortable and well maintained. I hope to return next year!

It was incredibly beautiful there! For a few days, it's just perfect to unwind. Always happy to come back:)

Transportation: The house is slightly outside the city center, but since we traveled by car, we had no issues. It takes around 30 minutes to reach the city center. 15 minutes of it takes the city center alone to reach due to lights. Location: Just as seen in the photos. A peaceful and enjoyable home. House in general: The house had everything we needed; we didn’t feel the absence of anything. It was very clean. One morning, we planned a trip to Amsterdam, but we enjoyed the house so much that we almost canceled and considered staying in instead. Host: A very sweet, helpful, and responsive host with great communication. Parking: Available. If you have a baby, Anne kindly provided bed and baby chair. There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby. Despite being very close to the airport, we didn’t experience any disturbances. We would come and stay exactly in the same place.

This unique spot was perfect for enjoying the art and food of Amsterdam. 30ish minutes on public transit to basically anything and walking distance to great museums and restaurants. We also enjoyed the neighbors and their recommendations.

We enjoyed the stay at the boat house a lot! The location is beautiful and we loved the views as well as accessibility to the places around. There are assigned co-hosts who are very responsive if you have any questions or issues, big thanks to Philo for helping us with everything and Nina for calling us to check up if everything is great. The boat has everything needed for a stay - comfy beds and sofa, toaster and coffee machine, bean bags to sit and cozy living room. The kitchen might not have enough pans, but overall is good if you prefer to cook on your own. It's not a 100inch TV as it was marked in the description due to typo, but it's pretty good if you want to watch some netflix or youtube at night. There is street parking nearby, which is quite pricey, but hosts can advise on the parking house nearby. We had a lovely stay and would love to come back again!

we had a great time ... only regret is not to have stayed longer

We wanted to treat ourselves to something really nice for the turn of the year and found a wonderful atmospheric place here. On Veras and George's houseboat, you can relax and cook very well - the kitchen is well equipped. The feel-good factor on a houseboat is great anyway, which is even increased by the high-quality cozy furnishings. We really enjoyed the break and felt very welcome from the two of them! Vera's numerous tips on (bicycle)excursions in the area were particularly helpful. We were very happy that despite the half-way weather, we took our bikes with us and were able to explore the beautiful surroundings with the many pretty places.

The houseboat of Hjalte in Vinkeveen is really something very special and highly recommended. Strategically located very conveniently between Amsterdam and Utrecht, you can easily get to both cities from there. The location on a dredged peat pond is beautiful and it's nice to be greeted in the morning by the ducks on the floating pontoon in front of the houseboat. What may not be quite clear from the description: on the street you can only park for free in winter (from 10/1 to 3/31), otherwise there is a paid parking space for €10 per day or by exit. From the street to the houseboat there is only a 7-minute walkway, which is unfortunately very poor or not illuminated at night. However, there are free wagons to rent on the street for the transport of luggage. We didn't get to know Hjalte ourselves. But he was very easily accessible via Wh...app and gave us so much information about check-in and the accommodation.

We had a lovely time in Mariette's house boat. She was very friendly and welcoming, and despite the poor weather we felt very cosy and comfortable.

Even though we could not move the housebot due to the season and also rowing drill and canoe were not needed at 5 C°, we had a very nice time on the housebot. Nevertheless, it was nice and warm inside and very comfortable with the wood stove. It really has it all! Even washing machine and dishwasher. Everything on the boat is well thought out and perfect for a family with 1-4 kids for holidays on the water.
