Great place to stay! Beautiful mountain views:) would highly recommend it for seeing north west Iceland.

Beautiful house in a beautiful place

This is our second visit to Hvammsvik Resort. Originally we stayed here 2.5 years ago and stayed at the Hilltop house and Hvammsvik was just being built into a resort. It was beautiful, and Ive already left a review for that house back then because it was one of our favourite airbnbs that we have ever stayed in. This visit we have the luxury of staying at two different houses on the property. First we stayed in the Club House. (this one was our personal fav for this trip) but only because of what we travelled to Iceland for. The house is so cozy, but large enough for a family with children, or even two families. HUGE kitchen and dining room, cozy couch and TV area. Our second house we stayed in was the Lake House (the most stunning views) This place is a bit smaller, but just as tastefully decorated, and I cannot even describe the views in such few words. Such a magical place to wake up to, surrounded by mountains and water.

The house was modern and very clean. The wall of windows gave us incredible views from sun up to sun down. The host was helpful and responsive. I would come back to this property in a heartbeat. We had an unbeatable experience in this house--which included hours of Northern Lights dancing above us as we luxuriated in the hot tub!! Magical!

The most incredible house we have been in, all luxury of details.. there was nothing missing, the house beautiful, the jacuzzi is an authentic madness, we have fallen completely in love with the house!! We will be back for sure!

The host was responsive and helpful, the guesthouse was exactly as described and felt like home. The hot tub was great despite the thermostat not working during our stay. We saw the northern lights perfectly from this place in mid February 2025!

Our favorite Airbnb ever! This gorgeous house was tastefully decorated with amazing amenities and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Everything was spotless, and the instructions were clear. Telma was friendly and responsive, making us feel right at home. It was the perfect end to our vacation – waking up on the lake with mountain views and goats passing by each day. The weather was rough during our visit so we spent a lot of our time indoors - this was the perfect retreat. We already miss the sauna, it was hard to say goodbye. Absolutely perfect in every way! Thanks for the memories.

The hottub is fantastic. The greenhouse is awesome and really worth a visit.

This was the best place we have ever stayed as a family. Sigurdurs place is beautiful with the most stunning view. The house is spacious and very warm and cosy. It is absolute heaven, the perfect escape to the countryside with a chance of seeing the northern lights over the lake. I would definitely recommend Sigurdur’s place to everyone. We loved it! As a group of women, spending beautiful time together in our favorite fjord by cooking, late night talks, sitting in a hot tub under the stars and auroras, long walks to the island, seeing seals and warming up in the sauna afterwards… Precious! The surroundings are incredible! The house is a dream, the view is unbelievable and everything is super clean and the kitchen is well stocked. Sarah was always helping us when I reached out. Amazing communication. I’d say it’s perfectly comfortable for people who know each other well and maybe no more than 8-9 people if you stay a few days, especially in the winter when you’re mostly inside.

Great and peaceful location, with good access to Reykjavik and road network for exploring further, especially the West. Second visit to this lovely home with fantastic views. Even managed to see the Northern Lights on this visit, despite partial cloud cover. We will return again.

Kjartan's Borgarnes Villa was everything we hoped it would be. The views were amazing, the lake access was enjoyed and the deck time was spectacular!

10/10 recommend. Perfect trip from start to finish. Eugenia is a lovely host. Personable and kind to communicate with via the Airbnb platform. This house is simply incredible. If you’re thinking of visiting Iceland don’t hesitate, you’ll be blown away by the nature, peace and beauty. The house is 45 mins - 1 hour from the airport and Reykjavik. It’s in the middle of the “Golden Circle” where you’ll be able to see many waterfalls, the Geyser etc. It’s a private community of secluded houses in the valley of some mountains. 4x4 recommended as it’s a dirt road for 5-10 mins from the main road. Everything works perfectly in the house. Fireplace, BBQ, well stocked kitchen, all taps had boiling hot and freezing cold water (so refreshing!). Very clean house and felt like home for the week. Jacuzzi, sauna and cold plunge were nice perks. You can hike the mountain behind the house and find blueberries. 100% perfect stay for a family or a group of friends. Thank you, Eugenia!

Such a fabulous cabin in a stunning location. We enjoyed our stay immensely and wouldn’t hesitate to return. The hot tub was a bonus. We used it several times during our four nights stay. The cabin was spotlessly clean had every amenity to make us more than comfortable throughout our stay, the hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful. Such a wonderful place, we really didn’t want to leave. Make sure you stock up on groceries when you pass a supermarket (as the nearest one open during our stay was a 25 minute drive) and you won’t want for a thing. We forgot to purchase some sugar for our hot drinks, so Matthias, one of the hosts, called round within a couple of hours with a bag of sugar cubes for us. Amazing service! The horses in the adjoining field were a delight to watch and kept my daughter entertained for hours. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

We had a lovely time staying here! GORGEOUS location and so peaceful. Felt right at home here, it was truly a beautiful stay.

This feels like less of a "review" and more of our most sincere and incredibly heartfelt Thank You to Zoei and Bab. We came to Iceland for our secret elopement and booked our flights only after finding this Airbnb... we knew it was the perfect setting for our private ceremony, and there are truly no words to describe just how magical Zoei's Garden is. From the moment we walked in, we could feel the immense care and love and spiritual energy that they have poured into every corner of this home / property. The private hot spring lagoon was the most magical we experienced our entire time in Iceland. This home is by far the best kept secret on Airbnb, and hands down the best Airbnb we have ever stayed at. Zoei was extremely communicative and helpful and so sweet and kind. It felt like we were staying at the home of a dear friend. We will never forget Zoei's Garden and cannot wait to come back. Aron’s place is small and cozy with beautiful views! The goal was to see the northern lights and it turned out to be the perfect spot! Truly unforgettable!

Ágúst was a wonderful host and this place was great! The cabin was very clean and exactly as shown in the photos. Everything we needed was easy to find and we were provided with very clear instructions on how to use the different amenities in the house. Check in and check out were a breeze! The bed was amazingly comfortable! We came to Iceland specifically to see the northern lights and they made a showing while we were at August’s place. If you stay here, and the lights make an appearance , you will not have to go anywhere except outside!

The home was absolutely stunning! Took advantage of the hot tub almost every night during our stay. The location was about 50 minutes away from Reykjavík, making it extremely quiet and peaceful. Gudrun was always quick to respond and super helpful whenever we had questions. The only things that my family had some issues with were the sulphur smell from the water and the water pressure of the shower. The pressure got progressively worse that by the end of the trip there was barely any water coming out. Regardless this place was an amazing experience and made our trip to Iceland 10/10!

Wow! The cabin is in the most spectacular location with amazing views. Inside is spacious and well equipped with just what you need, also nice and warm. The outdoor hot pot is a great addition. Instructions to the cabin were easy to follow taking us straight to it. Neighbouring property’s around but the cabin is private and peaceful. Would certainly stay again.
