Vacation rentals with a kayak in Salt Spring Island

We had a wonderful time at Shawnigan Lake, staying in Todd's beautiful cottage! It was perfectly situated right on the lake, with a fantastic dock space perfect for swimming and other activities. We were close to the train trestle, a lovely walking/running trail, a restaurant with a picturesque lake view, and a corner store for quick purchases. Grocery stores were about 15-20 minute drive away. All in all it was an incredible place to vacation for an active family! Thank you so much Todd!

Nice location on lake. Large deck on the back of house with lake views. Large dock with easy water access. Quiet location at end of the road so no road noise. Sean is friendly and will greet you at arrival, gives interesting history about the house and is responsive.

We had a weekend on the lake at Scott’s! The place was cozy during the snowy weekend. Beautiful lakefront spot with incredible outdoor area that you can enjoy year round. The hot tub was great to relax in and look over the lake. Would absolutely come back here again!

Our stay at Gavin’s place was perfect. We had plenty of room for our group. The house was comfortable, well appointed, comfortable beds and had everything we needed and more. Gavin was super responsive to all my questions, he is a great host. Thank you Gavin! Highly recommend this home when staying in Shawnigan Lake. Lots to do, and we had fun adventuring around. Would love to come back in the summer.

This is a beautiful home easily accessible from the highway with easy, walkable access to a very nice grocer. We tend to cook a lot of meals when we stay at airbnbs and we found the kitchen here great and well equipped with all the pots, pans, and dishes we needed. The back deck was incredible and peaceful for family meals. Check in was totally painless and the house was very clean and well appointed. Beds were very comfortable! Nicholas was very quick to return messages and was pleasant every time we spoke. Great airbnb that we’d recommend for families.

The place was great and wanting for nothing. Very clean and comfortable and had everything to accommodate a big group. The kitchen was especially well equipped. The hosts were very welcoming, generous, and accommodating. It was lovely that we could arrive earlier in the day and relax in the morning with a later check out. We loved the “single lady” chickens and being able to gather eggs in the morning. The hot tub was a great size for a large group, very clean and well maintained. Comfy beds as well. Thanks for a delightful weekend for our Bookgroup!

We came to visit our son who was having surgery. We got caught in the highly unusual February heavy snow, but April responded quickly to get us help. Great place w big beautiful view of lake, Terrific kitchen. Two levels to house. We didn’t check out the hot tub, sauna, pool and lake access due to weather, but they looked great,

Jason is the best host I have ever had with a rental property. His place is beautiful, fairly priced and he was very communicative throughout the process. I would highly recommend Jason and his property for families.

Beautiful cabin with amazing view of the lake. Very cute and cozy! Peaceful and quiet, clean, and had everything we needed. Hosts were very kind and flexible with our late check in and bringing us firewood at night. Would stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carmen's Cottage. It was a great place for peace and quiet, as well as a good location to explore nearby attractions of this area. The cottage felt like home, with a comfortable interior and plenty of outdoor space! Thanks to Carmen for sharing her place!

The cottage and surrounding area was extremely peaceful and absolutely beautiful. I recommend coming out here if you want true relaxation

This is our third year returning to Maple Ridge Cottages and we will absolutely be back again. Salt Spring Island is beautiful and very peaceful. We felt right at home in the cabin we booked. It was spacious, clean, and equipped with everything we needed. Convenient location and seamless check-in made it a perfect choice for a comfortable getaway. Travelling with a small child isn’t always easy, but Ashley and Bill always make it all so easy from the checkin to the checkout. We even noticed the child sized picnic table had been put on the deck of the cabin we booked. Such thoughtful thinking! Last and certainly not least, we asked to extend our stay - and Ashley and Bill accommodated this extend and were very fair. Bill came by a few times and was lovely to speak with in person. While we were unloading he came and introduced himself to us and told us ways we could get in touch throughout our stay if we needed to. We felt very taken care of. Thank you Ashley and Bill!

The cottage is amazing, direct access to the beautiful lake. There are boats, kayaks or stand-up paddle boards for free including life jackets. The kitchen is very well equipped and the hosts are super friendly and supportive. We had an amazing time here and we can totally recommend this cottage to everyone.

lovely place right on the water kayaks, canoe etc all readily available. we were there in October so too cold to swim. it would be amazing in warmer weather. Lots of local things to see market, hikes etc. you do have to drive

Thank you Lesha for a wonderful stay. The private cottage had everything we needed and more. We loved that we could take in the beautiful lake view from the dock, the deck, and from inside the cabin. It was a treat to have a kayak to enjoy the lake by water. Shawnigan lake and the Cowichan valley is a beautiful place with so much to explore (great restaurants, produce/products from local farms, walking/hiking/mountain biking and quaint shops. We hope to stay again.

Such a great place. We have a big family (lots of kids), small budget, we love nature, food and family time. Our oldest kids are at uvic and this was the perfect place to meet them for an affordable weekend together. This place is right on the water looking over at a beautiful forest, so we felt immersed in nature even though it’s a neighborhood. Lots of lovely walks nearby. Big kitchen with everything we needed to cook all our meals for a crowd. Lots of beds and bedding. Super cozy. Lots of nice little perks like cozy blankets and a fireplace. Would love to come again.

Beautiful location and view from house and backyard. Anne was welcoming and responsive. The kitchen was very well stocked with cookware and staples. Fun to play pingpong in the backyard. Easy walk to the Mayne Island Resort for kayak rentals and dinner.

The cabins are very cute, and the lake is beautiful.

This was the ideal place for our relaxing weekend . We all commented on how we wished our own places were decorated like it! Views from the deck were amazing and it had everything you could need.
