Lori and her husband Rick were fabulous, My friends and I absolutely loved them! We highly recommend this cute cottage by the lake. The house smelled amazing! No chemicals just a wonderful beautiful scent that made me smile. The warm fire roaring at night while drinking a cup of hot tea and the beautiful view of the lake was a wonderful way to start my healing journey. Everything is neat and labeled for you and she goes above and beyond to really make sure that you are happy. We had quite the snow storm while hunkered in and Rick cleared the walkway, drive way and stopped in to get our trash. They live right next door which was great incase we needed anything but still had complete privacy :) Location is great and you’re not far from stores, restaraunt, etc. I highly recommend, you will feel like you are visiting family.

14th Coffee House is a unique property which is not for those looking for easy access to restaurants and downtown. however, Essex downtown is just 10 minutes drive from the property. It's for those who would like to go to a peaceful, secluded and a farm house sort of setting to enjoy a staycation than a vacation. Uber Eats delivers in less than 30 minutes so that isn't a problem as well. Hot Tub is special attraction. All the interiors are beautifully handpicked and designed based on Warren's preferences. Free Lattes and Coffees in the coffee house just behind the property spices up your stay. Nathan and Johnny were true baristas who provide you with not just warm and delicious coffee but also warmth of a small town. The doors and all the furniture fixing are quite antique so please handle them with care.

Hey! Here's a chance to experience a super-cool place in an naturalistic environment you'd NEVER expect to find in a city - and a unique bit of Detroit's urban history as well. It's a modernist house designed circa 2004 by a couple of Cranbrook architectural students as a challenge to create affordable housing in a several-block area that had been totally cleared of buildings during the earlier urban renewal era of the late 20th century. It sits like a cool modernist island amidst fields of glass and trees, providing a wonderful naturalistic environment unusual in an urban context. Where else could you look out the windows and see wild turkeys flying across open fields in the city?? Open all the curtains on the large windows and let the outside in. Totally safe and secure - and a quick walk to the shops and restaurants of the famous Eastern Market.

Was here for just a short weekend visit - enjoyed staying at Nick's place. Good location, easy parking and a fun collection of vinyl records to search through.

Sara’s listing was very lovely and had a very homey feel with lots of traditional furniture and tons of natural light. Each bedroom has its own vibe. There’s a narrow staircase that leads up to the living space which might be troublesome for some older folk but other than that I love everything else. We didn’t need to use the stove or any appliances but there’s was basically everyone you would need, plus there were some chickens running around the backyard which was fun. Would stay here again. Not too far from downtown.

Enjoyed my time here! Lots of space and the fenced years was great for my little dog. Good location near downtown Ferndale on a nice, quiet street. I had some trouble getting into the house at first, but the host was very responsive and found a solution.

The decor and space of the home was cozy and very comfortable. Cheryl was very kind and left breakfast for us! We thought the treehouse would be a little closer to the house, (about an acre away from the main house) so my adult kids were not happy about being in a separate space entirely, especially with no bathroom. I thought it was darling though.

This is a such a cute house and shows a lot of love and attention to detail to restore this historic home. We had a great time and it worked perfectly for us and our dog, who appreciate the yard and walkable sidewalks. The area is full of good eating and the Ford Museum close by. We will stay here again the next time we are in the area.

Overall a nice place to stay! I liked the area because there were bars, restaurants, and grocery stores all in walking distance and I didn’t have a car during my stay. The only issues I had were with the shower, which drained kind of slowly and the hot water for the building sometimes ran out. The stove is very old, so if you’re looking to cook elaborate meals this would not be the place for you, but it works for everyday cooking.

Auntie Blondie (as she told me to call her) was an awesome host. She was very thorough giving me a tour of the property and was a phone call away when I needed anything. The location and views were great for the price and would recommend this property to anyone in the area. Thank you again for allowing us to celebrate in your property.

Perfect place for a family getaway. The kids enjoyed swimming and playing board games.

Stayed here for 2 weeks with my 2 kids aged 8 and 11. The place was nice and clean and the host was easily contactable and sent us a message every couple of days to check all was ok. We had plenty of room and facilities to cook and do our laundry. The pool area out the back was great and my kids and I spent many hours swimming. I would definitely consider booking again if we are back in the area next year.

My family needed a larger place to stay over the holidays and we required a decent kitchen because we like to cook meals all together. This property met our expectations for every meal we had planned. The beds were clean and the rooms were all sufficiently sized for our needs. The additional amenity of having the indoor pool during the winter was great for all the kids to have an activity to do that they enjoy. This house has clearly served multiple generations of families and it made a nice touch for my family holiday. The host was available to message the entire stay and it didn’t feel like a problem if we needed anything or for questions. The secluded location was wonderful to wake up to but a little tricky to find in the dark for the first time check-in. All in all a very positive experience staying at this property.
