Family-friendly vacation rentals in Pulaski County

This is the second time that we have stayed with Donnie. The first time was in one of the cabooses. This time we stayed in The Depot. Both of these places were as described and pictured! I had good enough phone service that we did not miss having WiFi and there was cable for television. I had two children with me, an eight year old and a twelve year old, and they were both fine there! And we could look out the front door and see Buffalo Mountain. Because of Hurricane Helene damage, we did not get to go there but it was not for lack of trying! Sunday morning before we left, I got to see a deer in the pasture behind the depot! And some beautiful sunrises!

We wanted to do something unique & different for our anniversary & this did NOT disappoint. From the “main” road you can see the 3 red cabooses up on the hill & our hearts smiled. They recently had storms & we could see where the flood waters deteriorated the sides of the driveway but it was still wide enough for us to pass another small vehicle if needed. Office Check in was a breeze and took less than five mins before we were standing in our getaway train(caboose) which is on a real track! We were the only ones staying this weekend but if others were present, there was plenty of room. Our furbabies throughly enjoyed having a large field in front of the cabooses to run in. The views from the swings were breathtaking especially during the sunsets. Once Inside, we enjoyed the comforts of home (except for a stove). The hotness of the water & the relaxing hot tub added to our experience. Some things were dated but that is to come with the territory. We hope to visit again in the fall.

Wonderful, clean, cozy place to stay for the weekend. Quiet and comfortable. Well stocked with everything needed. Looking forward to another stay here in a few weeks!

Shirleyann is a friendly and welcoming host with a quiet and peaceful property 10 minutes from downtown Floyd. The BnB is comfortable, clean, and has everything you need, including yummy breakfast foods in the fridge. We look forward to staying there again.

I had the most wonderful stay at Bliss Cabin, to say the least. From the initial photos of the writing desk and yoga deck, to the curious graveled path winding around the property lined with life and decorative details, I was totally immersed in the love and care that was so palpably present! Kathryn & Luke were absolutely lovely, so helpful, and incredibly accommodating! My recommendations while on the property: build and tend to a fire. Journal at the writing desk while playing Miles Davis. Take an early cold plunge in the river, do a round of Wim Hof breathing, then run up to take a hot shower at their beautiful abode. Chat with Luke, have tea with Kathryn. Do yoga on the deck. Say hello to the frogs. Express your inner musician with their drums and sound bowls. Let your soul free here!

Beautiful location, place as described. Jacuzzi was great. Lots of hot water. Good water pressure, good shower. Bed was comfortable. Donnie was helpful and responsive.

This is a phenomenal option for a visit to Blacksburg. The unit is well appointed, modern, and very clean. Todd and Radka are very responsive, and proactive with great instructions. Would definitely stay again!

Our stay was lovely in this organized and clean space. The scenery was beautiful with multiple places to sit, eat, visit, and enjoy our family getaway. Theresa was extremely responsive and left clear instructions. I would definitely consider this rental again as it is close to Radford, but just far enough away to have a relaxing and peaceful spot to gather.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. We hosted a my hokie son and a few of his hokie friends for Easter dinner and this home was perfect for what we needed. The home was spacious, clean and the location to the campus was fantastic. Highly recommended.

What an enchanting cabin! It felt like staying at a cottage you read about in a storybook or fairy tale. The yard and surrounding landscape were absolutely stunning. There is a babbling creek right next to the cabin. We visited with our toddler and two dogs. There is a private trail on the property we walked a few times. Our dogs were able to be off leash the entire time with no signs of other people. The bedroom was so cozy, even in the chilly night. I slept much better than usual! We only had the privilege of staying one night, but I would gladly have stayed much longer if I had the opportunity.

This is the second time I stayed at Erika's yurt. I absolutely love it and it's whimsical design. It is very spacious and fun. Beds are comfortable and the view from the back deck is phenomenal. The only things I suggest since my last trip - this time I went with my 75 year old parents. A light outdoors by the steps to the entrance way. My parents had a difficult time seeing to get down the steps. Also, know that the steps are steep going to the downstairs bedroom and additional yurt. My father couldn't get down there to check out everything. If everyone in your party in young and spry- it's perfect! I never thought about these issues for my parents because it was just my husband and kids the first time I stayed here.

My first stay at The Cabin and definitely plan on returning! It was better than the pictures. Location is very special along with the perfectly decorated cabin. I love antiques and birds and felt like a warm hug the minute I drove onto the property and entered the cabin. So grateful to have had this experience. Thank You Anna.

Had a great stay at Josef’s place. Great location and walkable to everything in Downtown Blacksburg, as well as the campus. The home is very clean and has everything needed for a weekend trip. Would definitely stay again.

I can't say enough good things about The Wandering Goat Lodge. The apartment is spacious with many comfortable throw blankets (our favorite!), room to cuddle up and watch TV, and my VT student felt right at home with all the VT fan gear! We delighted in feeding the goats and the donkeys, all of whom had over-the-top personalities. This will definitely be our go-to stay for VT visits while our kiddo is at school.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful mountain house. The views are amazing, and Berit did a great job giving very clear instructions on how to navigate the mountain on the way up. She made sure ahead of time that we had vehicles suitable for the drive which was very appreciated. She checked in with us throughout the weekend just to make sure there was nothing we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked, plenty of towels/blankets available, and overall was just a wonderful stay. There is a winery, Chateau Morrisette, which was only about 15 minutes away that was really fun to visit, and Floyd is a very cute, friendly town. I would definitely stay here again. We had an incredible stay at Gary & Loretta's cottage Thanksgiving weekend! We were in town for the Tech-UVa game and this place more than exceeded our expectations! Gary met us upon arrival and walked us through the house. The house is beautifully decorated, and they have thought of EVERYthing! We were able to take advantage of hiking their property on the well-maintained and marked trails. We were able to enjoy morning coffee with delicious cinnamon rolls that they provided for us. The beds and furniture were very comfortable, and the 4 of us truly loved the place. We are already planning on events we can go to in the future just so we can return! I was also impressed with the responsiveness to any questions we had and communication was outstanding! If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet getaway, or just want to feel like you are at home, then look no further! Thanks again to both of you!

Joe’s place was exactly as described. The location for visiting our off campus Hokies and doing things around campus was very convenient. The beds were soft and comfortable and there were plenty of towels and dishes for 6 of us. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful, quaint house. Enjoyed the screened porch and yard. Location was convenient for walking to Campus and Main Street. Great stay overall!

We were so excited to see the views and meet the horses . The land here is beautiful and we were excited to see the horses right next to the guest house, either through the window or across the fence. The view of the valley is very relaxing. Donna is very responsive and has great information about how to find the guest house, which is off the beaten track, which is what we were seeking. We appreciated the snacks and drinks available when we arrived, especially for a quick breakfast of oatmeal, cereal, and milk since we had not brought the breakfast foods we needed. The guest house is spacious, bright, and open inside. Easy to relax on couch and big chairs, plus a desk / table for when we needed it. We enjoyed talking to Donna's family about the farm and horses. Thank you for a great stay!

We enjoyed our stay while visiting our son’s at VT, this was our 2nd time staying here. Great location and place is comfortable and easy to get to.

We just stayed at the Dream Rock Silo bungalow for the 6th time, and every visit has been wonderful. Karen and Bill always make us feel like family. They are exceptional hosts, and their attention to detail and their creativity are amazing. The bungalow is super clean, comfortable, well-crafted, and beautifully furnished and decorated. Outside is always peaceful and relaxing with beautiful views, gardens, rocks, and a stream. We love the very friendly, entertaining shepherds, Max and Joe, who spend every waking minute on our covered patio and in the yard playing ball. The sweet older husky, Folger, also spends time with us and gives us a “lean in”. We rarely leave the property and didn’t leave at all this time. We’re already planning our next visit and can't wait to get back to Dream Rock.

Staying at the White House was a great experience. David was very helpful with finding local restaurants and he was an overall cool person to meet. I highly recommend staying here if you want a quiet getaway!
