Family-friendly vacation rentals in Porthtowan

We stayed in the Melyn cottage, it was so lovely and spacious. The location is perfect for exploring different parts of Cornwall. Sue was a fantastic host and explained everything before we arrived, we were even greeted by a bottle of Prosecco which was a lovely surprise! We all loved it and would definitely stay again! :)

This was our second stay and, like the first, it didn't disappoint. The views, the Lodge itself and the hot tub all make for a perfect, peaceful weekend retreat. Caroline is a fantastic, friendly and responsive host who communicates quickly.

The house was amazing,ample space for 2 families getting together-never seen such a massive tv in our lives so watching a film was like being in a cinema! Kitchen fully equipped and lots of kitchen towels provided which we had forgotten to bring! Bathrooms and toilets were spotless and lots of loo roll provided too (a bug bear of mine when you only have 1 for your entire stay so have to make a mad dash to a shop as your first outing)! Location wise it was perfect,sea views,plenty of parking,short walk to the train station 3 mins away from st Ives,games provided (tho we are in to monopoly at the Mo and brought our own for some epic games nights)! Tesco a short drive away too which was handy if needed! All in all a fantastic stay-both hosts were super responsive too and should we have had any issues im sure would have been able to help quickly!

We booked a 1 night stay as we are locals for a 16th birthday celebration which happened to be during the latest storm! I was offered to rearrange for another weekend which was lovely, we didn’t and we had the best time! The tent survived the storm, the hot tub was piping and the fire was cosy. Lovely extra touches of hot water bottles which came in handy! Beautiful peaceful surrounding despite the howling wind! Will recommend and be back. Thank you

Liz's place was exactly as described. spotless and spacious. Waking up viewing the Atlantic ocean brought peace and serenity. The property was perfect for the 8 of us. With two reception rooms some could enjoy the view while others could have some quiet space. The bedrooms were huge and well laid out with lovely king size beds. Hot overlooking the ocean was great. Liz was the perfect host and always on hand if needed. All amenities were available including travel coat and high chair etc. Would stay there again in a heart beat and have indeed booked it again for this summer. 5*

Exactly what we were looking for! My partner and I wanted a two night stay in the countryside with a cosy, smart and relaxing place to stay and this is exactly what we got! Kate was extremely helpful from the point of booking all the way through till the end only being a message away if we needed something or couldn’t figure out how something worked! Thank you Kate! The place is lovely and we couldn’t fault it. All the amenities you might need with a comfy bedroom, very smart and aesthetically pleasing bathroom and lounge as well as the nice addition of the hot tub and sauna! With Padstow and other places around a 30 minute drive away you can spend the day out or equally stay at the cottage and relax. No complaints from us and would throughly recommend to anyone looking at staying here. Just book it! Many Thanks, Will & Alice :)

This was our second visit to Tygwella and it was as enjoyable as our first. The house has an elevated position next to the coastal path which makes it ideal for walks in either direction and the views are stunning. The house is well equipped and had everything that we needed and is nicely furnished, and also spotlessly clean. David, the host was really helpful with arrangements before our visit and always responded very quickly. Many thanks.

What a fantastic long weekend. Karen's place is lovely, the place had everything you needed for your stay, was clean & tidy. The location was fantastic easy access to many different locations to many beaches and lovely walks. Karen was fantastic host, very responsive, polite and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, along with her resident animals it was perfect! Highly recommend and will be returning!

Gila was a lovely host, with good local recommendations. Fantastic, charming house full of character. Lovely touch with the eggs, bacon, bread, butter, milk and coffee pods. We had 3 dogs and there was a surprising amount of space. The kitchen had everything you would need for a long stay. Small enclosed garden, but fantastic field the dogs could run in, and lots of lovely walks on the doorstep. Easy parking. Although we never made it to local pub, we thoroughly enjoyed going to Godrevy beach. Highly recommend as a base for discovering Cornwall. We would definitely stay again 😀

Robyn was always very quick to respond and answer questions. The house is a typical old Cornish stone cottage, basic but clean and tidy. It is a minute walk to the harbour and all of the restaurants, cafes and pubs nearby. It is located in a traffic free and very quiet area and at the front of the house is a little sheltered sun trap with a table and two chairs, which was a very welcome respite from the near gale out on the beach.

We had a lovely stay at Sharon’s air bnb. Beautiful home, extremely clean and a lovely location with Falmouth just a short drive away. Would stay again. :)

As a family of 8 & 3 generations celebrating Christmas & a special birthday, the farmhouse was simply magical. Will & Danni went above all our expectations with Christmas trees & selection boxes for the kids. The farm looked so beautiful with all the fairy lights & we found everything we needed to cook Christmas dinner for 12! Thank you so much for a simply amazing stay which allowed us to celebrate our first Christmas in six years as a family. We couldn’t recommend you highly enough & hope to be back in the future. Very enjoyable stay at Roy’s loft. Ideal location with St Ives centre less than 10 minutes down the hill yet away from the crazy St Ives holiday traffic. Roy is a very friendly and helpful host.

A fantastic place to stay beautiful property, spotlessly clean and brilliant amenities. Everyone was super friendly and helpful with any queries. Location is perfect for the beautiful beach and village. Our family had the most amazing holiday and highly recommend a stay at Bassets Acre.

We have just arrived home after a fantastic stay. The lodge was beautiful with everything that we needed. There is lots to do locally as well as in the resort. We enjoyed it so much that we have already booked for another stay in Easter. Thank you once again.

We had an absolutely superb time at Shell Cottage. The weather was fantastic, and the location was perfect for exploring Falmouth and the beautiful nearby beaches. The cottage is set in wonderfully kept and manicured grounds, creating a peaceful and picturesque setting. Inside, the cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay—it really felt like a home away from home. Shelley was an incredible host we had a little difficulty finding the property at first, and even though she was away herself, she was quick to help us get sorted straight away. Lovely setting - very peaceful and private - peacocks, geese and a cat were there to greet us most days. Stephen was a great host and explained everything clearly and was very helpful. The place was compact but had everything we needed for our stay and was exactly as described and very clean. Asda Express within walking distance. Great location for accessing other parts of Cornwall - we ventured to Perranporth/Newquay which was around 40 mins. Also Tintagel Castle was around 25 mins. We would stay again. Thank you.

This was our first time booking an AirBnB and I needn't have worried. Marcus is a great host, very helpful and the property was exactly like the photos and description. It was in a perfect location for us, in a quiet part of town, but just a 10 minute walk to the town centre where there were some great pubs and Newquays beaches and harbour are also not far away. We found it very quiet in the apartment and weren't disturbed by any noise at all. We thought the Christmas tree and other decorations were a lovely touch and we felt at home and very comfortable.

We’re so glad we chose to stay at Halula Beach House for my hen do weekend, it was the perfect pad! Pool, hot tub, silent disco, huge table we could all sit round… and just a few minutes walk to the gorgeous beach. Would highly recommend it!

We had a lovely stay at Kirsten and Bens flat. Loved the view and the beach themed decor. Had everything we needed, spacious and perfect location. The hosts are absolutely lovely and very responsive. Really recommend this place and will be coming back!

As a family of three the apartment was ideal for us. The apartment was spacious, included the essentials, plus the view overlooking Newquay and the surrounding area was stunning! Added bonus to have parking included as we rarely used the car due to the location of the apartment making it easier for us to walk more. The gym and pool looked fantastic but on this occasion we didn’t have the time to use them. I’d highly recommend the apartment ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
