If you want a private cottage right on the water - this one is for you! What an amazing location. James' cottage is right on the water and there is a beautiful rocky beach to explore. The cottage is cozy and the kitchen is well stocked. Very private! The views are amazing. We had a chilly afternoon so we spent the day looking out the windows at the view. James was kind enough to let us know when there were whales passing! This is a very special and unique spot - I highly recommend booking!

Great place with a beautiful view. Inside was clean and had all the amenities. Right on the water and secluded in the forest away from noise! One of my favorite Airbnbs I’ve stayed at so far. Lorrene provided clear instructions on how to find the place along with local recommendations which made my stay easier. Will definitely stay here again if I come back next year!

Our stay at Kimberley’s place was very comfortable. The best pillows for sure ! The beds were extremely comfortable. We had my aunt with us , who has lots of pain issues and she said the bed was the most comfortable bed ( aside from her own) that’s she’s ever slept in ! She shower was fantastic! We loved the pressure. The whole place was very nicely decorated and had a very homey feel. We would definitely book again ! Thank you for the great experience during our stay. Shandi

I had a great stay at Morgan's place. The house itself is beautiful and clean. The view from the windows is stunning - it looks right onto the ocean, and if you open the windows, you can smell the salt air. It's a dream. Erin, the property manager was super responsive and extremely accommodating - she offered local sight-seeing recommendations, and kindly lent me her bear spray (which I thankfully, did not need!). I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

**Review for Airbnb Stay:** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently stayed at this incredible Airbnb, and I can't recommend it enough! The views were simply breathtaking, with stunning ocean scenery and majestic mountains. Every morning, I woke up to the sounds of waves and the sight of a picturesque sunrise that took my breath away. The hosts were absolutely spectacular. They went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable, providing great local recommendations. Their hospitality made me feel right at home. The space itself was cozy and well-maintained, with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing getaway. We had a peaceful rest in a lovely little town. We walked to get groceries and had everything we needed to,prepare dinner. After a great sleep there was tea, coffee and even oatmeal, which allowed us to have a leisurely morning before heading out. I’d recommend the suite.

I was lucky enough to stay at Gord’s place for 3 weeks and I had an amazing time. The kitchen was VERY well equipped with all the appliances and cookware you can ask for. Very comfortable beds! The standout feature of this place was the amazing view of the ocean. I’d highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again if given the chance

Ruth's home was lovely to stay at! It felt very homey and clean. The beds were comfy and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. All the decor was nice and was interesting to look at. The covered deck with the view of the water was great too. Ruth was responsive to messages and let us rent her kayaks as well as lending us some fishing equipment and giving us some tips on good spots to fish and paddle. We loved our time in Port Alice and staying here was a big part of that.

Exemplary accommodation with breathtaking views and a kind and responsive host, always quick to respond to queries. Take yourself to Alert Bay and experience this lovely place when you can! Steps from whale watching tour - and the grizzly bear trips will collect you here too. You don’t really need a car and the ferry is easy. Loved this place and would love to return with my extended family - thank you, John 🙏

BEST. TRIP. EVER! The Whale House is a gem! This little slice of heaven has gorgeous views from every room. The house is secluded and serene but is a quick drive to town and surrounding activities. The house has every amenity, and as a bonus, there is a crab pot and instructions on how to crab! It was enjoyable. The northern end of Vancouver Island has many things to do- fishing, whale watching, Grizzly bear viewing, kayaking and so much more. You can also relax easily in this place. Sitting on the deck, reading my book while watching the resident bald eagles go about their day was one of my favorite memories of our time there. Nancy is the best hostess. She had many recommendations and was full of good ideas to cater to the needs of our group. We will go back to the Whale House again. We were already planning our next visit as we pulled out of the driveway. :)

Lauren was welcoming, warm, and friendly - available to help us when we had unexpected issues (eg. when my hiking boots fell apart - loaning us tools to help glue the soles back together). Her place is quiet - we enjoyed watching 4-5 deer regularly grazing in the yard, and walking along the beachfront at low tide. Beds are super comfy :) Kitchen is well organized and the place was spotless.

Wonderful place to stay! We come up every year and this place was the best we’ve ever stayed in. Clean, cozy, so nicely decorated and very well stocked. These hosts have thought of absolutely everything and put in a lot of attention to detail to make their place a home away from home. Will def stay with them again.

This is a charming and cozy little cabin that's got everything you'll need! This may be surprising, but, it's bigger than it looks in the pictures. It also came with some nice extras: tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. Plus duck eggs in the fridge! We hope to visit again next time we want to visit the area.

Me, my 9 year old daughter, and two friends stayed at Amanda's place for a couple nights on a Mt. Cain ski trip. It was the perfect place to come back to after a day on the mountain. The place was cozy, clean and had everything we needed. We had fun playing some of the many board games, and unwinding on the comfy couch watching Netflix! The outdoor area with a firepit looked awesome, too. We will be back!
