Family-friendly vacation rentals in Popoyo

Wonderful place, with a spectacular view! The statue of Christ is super close to Malibu and the host was also super helpful in recommending local restaurants with a 20% discount :) They’re super attentive when it comes to any inquiries or maintenance questions. However, I will say that there were a lot of bugs outside so I recommend bringing repellent. Its location is not that inclined like most places in San Juan, so that was another upside to it. Great location, great staff, great place ❤️

We have stayed in the general area before but this was the first time we stayed at Casa Tranquila. There was 7 of us saying there so it was spacious enough for all of us to still have our space. We loved the kitchen area and cooking in the kitchen with an amazing view was amazing. Having fans in each room, including the outdoor dining area made a difference when the heat was 90+. Communication with Laura and Vero was super easy and they provided resources of car rental and a chef that came in to cook for us. We were all very happy with the recommendations. I definitely recommend this beautiful and spacious home.

Amelia's bnb was an excellent place to call home for a month while in San Juan! The property was quiet but close enough to town to access everything very easily. I'd recommend renting a motorbike while staying since the road up is an adventure. The property manager, Walter, and his family were so kind and helpful to us. The best part of staying here were all the neighborhood dogs that make the stay extra memorable :) 10/10 would come back!

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful two weeks over the holidays. This was our second time in SJDS but our first stay with Tanguy. The house is excellent, the view is magnificent, and everything is within easy reach. We would love to stay here again if we return to SJDS.

The place is beautiful. It is retired but at the same time close to the center of San Juan del Sur (approx 10 min). Amelia is quick to answer and Walter (the caretaker) is super friendly and attentive.

The house is super comfortable, with a pool overlooking the ocean that allows you to see incredible sunsets. The service and housekeeping was excellent . I would definitely come back and recommend the stay.

A great place, close to the beach and local restaurants. Gaby was really helpful on advice before and during our stay. Plenty of room in the apartment, especially on the outside terrace. A well equipped kitchen. Highly recommend walking to the far end of the beach to Juanita's kitchen for lunch one day, our favourite restaurant in the area. Watching a sunset at Hush was also amazing and it's only a 10m walk away. The power was a little on and off so make sure you have a charging block for your phone.

Our family of five had a fabulous vacation for seven days. The water with the ocean and unbelievable waves. Jim was very helpful and we loved our time. Thank you,, Christine Curran.

This was out seconds stay within a month and we had a great time. The apartment was spotless!

We had a great stay at Casa Buen Vivir. The house is beautiful and in an amazing setting. We enjoyed sitting on the covered porch each morning drinking coffee and having breakfast together as a family. It rained quite a bit during our stay. It rained everyday but it didn’t rain all day. We still enjoyed the beach almost every day. It is about 5-10 minute walk to the beach and we saw very few other people on the beach which made it feel like our own private beach. We did travel in November which is shoulder season. We had read that the southern coast dries up this time of year even if there is still rain elsewhere in the country but this was not the case for us. We really enjoyed our stay regardless and can’t thank Till and Nelson enough for their support and guidance while we were there. We hope to return someday.

We stayed at CasAnika for three weeks and had an amazing time! The house is spacious, clean, and cozy, with a beautiful terrace and a well-equipped kitchen. The Wi-Fi was great for remote work, and we loved the pool area and the friendly dogs and cats. Tony was a fantastic host, always helpful and full of great tips. The location is quiet, private and ideal, within walking distance to Maderas and Marsella beaches. We rented a scooter for trips to town but rarely needed to go as the area was so peaceful. Highly recommend!

We loved staying at Salty Surf. The location is ideal in Popoyo and very walkable to restaurants and beach breaks.

Most affordable way to surf the awesome waves of Playa Colorados. Located next to a great pizza place and the bikes made getting around Iguana a breeze. Would definitely stay again!

5 STARS all the way around for Miki’s house. She was amazing to work with, her house was so cool and super close to the beach. We loved the vibe, the plants, the pool, everything was spot on!

100% recommended, the house is very spacious, clean and tidy, the kitchen is sufficiently equipped, Don pedro and his lady are very friendly, a very quiet place, we had a great time, I would go again.

This is a beautiful house and the view is exactly as pictured! We spent three weeks here and had an amazing time spending each day in the pool and evenings watching sunset. Dan has great recommendations, communication, and a guest discount to his catamaran tour which is tons of fun. We were three people working remotely and occasionally faced problems with power outages, often multiple times per week and day. If you are working remotely I would recommend flexibility and/or also having a local sim/ external data connection to avoid issues. However, I will mention that these issues are not unique to Dan's place and can be expected at any location in San Juan del Sur. The house attendants are readily available for anything you might need, however we sometimes faced miscommunication issues in regards to cleanings and laundry. I would highly recommend Dan's place for a relaxing vacation and remote work, you cannot beat the pool and view!

Casa Mafalda is a unique place, in this beautiful beach, it feels a tranquility, peace, and being surrounded by trees and vegetation , next to the cottage, in front of the beach, it does better, we had a great time, both María Elena and Julio and doña María, very attentive to everything, we are going back

This place was incredible! The views were out of this world, the house was spotless and cozy, and everything was set up perfectly. Zachary and Suyen were great hosts, and Ricardo was super helpful and easy to work with. If you’re looking for a relaxing spot with beautiful scenery, this is the one. Highly recommend!

I loved the place, it’s a beautiful house with a huge pool to spend the entire day in it, it’s very private and quiet if you want to disconnect from the city! Well recommended for big families!! Just be aware of rainy season because you’ll need an All-Terrain Vehicle with 4WD.

We loved our time at the house-- the kitchen is really well stocked, the pool and grounds are beautiful and well cared for, and Francisco was very friendly and helpful!
