Carols farmhouse is lovely! We had an amazing time enjoying the pool, roaming the grounds and watching the horses. Carol is an awesome host, she made sure we knew all details of her home and pool, and was so great to chat and connect with. She even gave our kiddos a tour of the barn and introduced us all to the horses, and her amazing dog Billie Jean. This was such an awesome opportunity and we enjoyed every second, we ended up adding a day to our trip. Can’t say enough about this home and host, thanks for everything Carol!

The place is great, low key neighborhood. The unit was clean and cozy. The hot tub was awesome and I would imagine the pool would be just as nice if our visit was not during February! Will definitely think about going again when a night or two away is wanted.

The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

We loved our stay at Jason’s place! We had 10 total people staying for Labor Day weekend - 7 adults, 3 kids and a dog. We all had plenty of room, the house was gorgeous - especially the kitchen and living room! We used the pool, the lake (kayaks and canoes - lots of life jackets to choose from), the basketball court and were so thankful for the option to rent the pontoon boat! My son had a great time fishing. The neighborhood is very quiet. We also had fun checking out nearby antique shops one morning & going into Bangor one evening for dinner. We will be back!

A nice rustic, peaceful getaway for our crew at the end of a long day. We appreciated the space and the surrounding greenery of Maine!

Convenient location. Cozy old farmhouse. Plenty of room for a family of 4. Easy in and out for quick overnight.

I live nearby but had friends visiting from Germany and wanted them to have the "camp" experience. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. My friends loved it as well as being right on the lake. The place was exactly as described and we felt right at home. I'm hoping this place is available whenever we have friends visit because I would definitely book it again.

This is the second time we have stayed at Olivia’s place and we will certainly be back for a 3rd, 4th, 5th…. She is always warm and welcoming. She goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel right at home. She’s is also extremely responsive and attentive to all questions and requests that we had. The place is beautiful and well kept. She is an amazing host with an awesome property. As mentioned above, we will be back in the future.

I booked this winter stay for my husband's birthday weekend. I had hopes of us relaxing at a little getaway and adding some ice fishing for the guys. I could not have been more pleased, the guys walked out the downstairs door right onto the ice, the ladies were inside with the fireplace on doing crafts and simmering soups. The house was so clean, tidy and welcoming, just like I like my house to be for guests. We were all very comfortable and had plenty of room. You could easily come to Brian and Lois's home, with a small bag of clothes, personal items and food. You really need to think of nothing else, it's all there and more. Beautiful and cozy place. Had a great stay. Since we visited during Fall season, the place was peaceful and full of Fall colors. Acadia national park is nearby and has some great places to visit during leaf peeping time.

Ohhhh my goodness. What a hidden slice of heaven! Yes…there is a 5 mile trek down a bumpy dirt road, but don’t let that deter you, once you pull in the driveway…you’ll understand it was well worth it. The main house and two tiny houses were completely stocked. There wasn’t anything that wasn’t there. Everything was cleaned and well maintained and in great working order. There was plenty of space for our three families to spread out. If you’re looking for a peaceful get away…this is it. We would definitely look into this place again!!!!!!

We were a party of 6 people and had a wonderful stay at the Lakefront cabin in Dedham. We arrived on an evening of a clear sky, did some astro-photography. The dark skies with almost no light pollution was perfect for this. Fall colors were just at their peak in the region, so we would wake up to the most amazing views of the lake. The host provided kayaks with oars, a well-equipped kitchen along with a good collection of spices and seasoning ingredients. The house was also well-stocked with towels, and other daily use necessities. The property is also close to grocery and supplies, so we were able to conveniently obtain food during our stay. Well-maintained house, with good amenities and an excellent host. Thank you Paulina for facilitating a memorable Fall vacation for us.

Chris was very communicative from the beginning. Very peaceful and quiet place. Overall, our experience was amazing. We highly recommend Chris and his place, if you want to have great gateway.

We enjoyed our stay at Amy’s! It was very private and peaceful. The drive in and out each day had stunning views. It was the perfect spot to come back to after a long day hiking. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need. We appreciated the coffee provided!! Laundry was a huge perk for us as well. Our first trip to Maine was amazing!!

The house was great! Clean, cozy and had everything we needed for a long weekend. The hosts were proactive in their communication so I felt confident knowing what to expect ahead of time. We’d definitely recommend it and would stay again!

I only have great things to say about our visit- the area was beautiful and peaceful while still close enough to grocery, restaurants, and activities. We felt at home right away with Ryan’s helpful recommendations and he was always available if we had questions or needed anything. We visited Acadia for a couple of days but other than that spent all our time enjoying the beautiful area by swimming, kayaking, fishing, and stargazing. The kitchen was well-equipped for us to cook and enjoy many meals and we were able to grill given the great weather we had. Easily the most attentive hosts I’ve had, thank you Ryan and Sharon for everything! We loved our stay and would definitely come back!

We were looking for a place to call home base for hunting camp. We have family in the area but wanted our own space and somewhere to host dinners at night. A great place. We would use again.

this was a perfect layover stop for my group travelling into Baxter state park, easy to find, nice kitchen, clean shower/bathrooms and plenty of space. will see if this is available next year.

Very cute place! Great for a small gathering with friends or family with a few kids. Things we loved: the gas fireplace, puffy blanket, and bean bag puffs made for a super cozy living room hang out place! Also love that the bathroom was upstairs with the bedrooms so no having to fumble your way down the stairs in the middle of the night to go.
