Kid-friendly vacation rentals in North Shields

This is the second time that we have stayed at this property and it was a great homely place for work purposes. Jamie responded to all queries and was helpful. Would recommend staying here and stay here again should we be working in the area. Thank you Jamie.

Excellent location within walking distance of the beach, good restaurants and amenities. The accommodation was clean (bearing in mind it's dog friendly) and looked newly decorated. The only downside was the heating, as it was very cold and the settings meant it took a long time to get warm. It could have been because it hadn't been occupied for a while and it was February, but found I was unable to leave my dog downstairs, on a tiled floor all night without any heating on. A setting of 12 degrees would have been enough.

Clean & tidy, nice & quiet, perfect for every thing we needed it for. Would stay again.

Jaya was a very attentive host and responded promptly always. It was a perfect place for a group to stay over that had plans in Newcastle. Plenty of space and exactly what we needed. Some of the kitchen essentials provided as well which was a nice touch and saved us going to the shops!

Great location, around the corner from the Metro. Exceeded expectation as haven't used air BnB before. Hosts were helpful. A lovely place, highly recomend!

Had an absolute great stay from the hosting to the house itself. I couldn’t recommend this any higher! It’s a beautiful home and Frankie was amazing in helping with anything.

The house is just lovely, there is everything you could want in the kitchen to use. The best bit was watching tv in The bath after a long day out. Waking up to the sea and galloping horses from your patio window is a definite plus from us. Anywhere you want to go is easily accessible, the dogs loved being on the beach and meeting dog friends. We took our doggy stopper for the stairs to stop our dogs going upstairs. Absolutely brilliant stay and we would definitely book again Thank you

We enjoyed our stay in this property, it was decorated to a high standard and had a good amount of space for our needs. It had almost all the facilities we needed to celebrate Christmas (we needed to buy a few more trays for the oven but that was about it). One thing to be aware of that we missed when booking is that the bathroom is downstairs at the back of the house, behind the kitchen, which was a bit of a surprise as we didn't remember seeing that noted before booking, however didn't cause us too many issues during the visit. The only other thing to note is there were a few minor maintenance issues (missing/dead light bulbs for example) that should be fixed, however again this didn't cause any problems during the stay, just something that could be improved to fully bring out the potential of the space.

We loved our short stay in Newcastle at Clives place. it was clean, comfortable and just what we needed. the views from the apartment of the Tyne were beautiful, and walkable from bars and perfect stay for our gig on Saturday. Thanks to Brenda aswell who was very friendly and responsive for check in and very understanding about our issues with traffic and bad weather making us late! :)

First of all, Jacinta is the best Abnb host we have ever encountered. 💜 This is an historic building full of character. It was welcoming and warm with everything we needed. Jacinta kept in touch to check out if things were ok which was so helpful. The house was cosy, beds comfy, great warm shower and a thoughtful welcome pack and fresh flowers. Thank you Jacinta.

Great flat in a quiet street. Metro stations close by. Plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs in Jesmond. Flat is spotless, warm, comfortable, quiet and light. Very well equipped kitchen with new washer/dryer. Everything you could ever need. Bed was comfortable with quality bedding and lovely towels in the bathroom. So pleased to have found this flat and Ben was a pleasure to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble. Recommended without hesitation.

Niels place was lovely to stay in. Very convenient for visiting the area. Very well equipped for cooking. Very quiet. Would definitely stay again.

I couldn't recommend Will & Dawn's place more. The place was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The instructions on how to find the place were detailed and Will was proactive in communication, ensuring we knew how to get there. We received a warm welcome on arrival. The place was done out to a very high spec. The pool was also a big draw which our four year old boy particularly enjoyed. The location was a great base for exploring Northumberland. We'll definitely be back

Immaculate, definitely home from home. Very comfortable. Milk, tea, coffee biscuits etc left for us. Also lovely touch of toothbrushes/toothpaste left for each of us. Great host. Beautifully presented apartment within easy walking distance of the train station and Durham city centre. Fully equipped kitchen with good quality appliances, comfy bed with quality bedlinen, and very responsive and helpful hosts. I would stay again if visiting Durham and am happy to recommend.

Excellent, spacious flat. Really nice touches of bread, milk, coffees, teas. Ideal location for beach walking and exploring the Northumberian coast. Super hosts - nothing is too much trouble. We'll definitely book again.

Absolutely great place to stay with 2 12 year old boys. Brilliant location and so much to do - Caroline gave us some fab recommendations. The flat was in a perfect location - close to the beach and loads of places to eat. The boys loved the bunk beds and I was impressed with the size of the rooms. Kitchen well equipped if you wanted to cook but we ate out for most meals. The bathroom is a wet room - so take crocs for using the toilet after a shower to avoid wet feet - this was not a problem for us at all and the shower was lovely and warm. Lots of little touches were great, biscuits and tea and coffee, toilet roll, cleaning products so if you arrived late no problem - also a shop over the road. Highly recommend as a lovely downstairs flat with parking near the sea - perfect.

As soon as we walked through the front door we were pleased with our booking. It’s beautifully decorated and clean. We had a lovely stay and the hot tub just made it even more enjoyable

We had a truly wonderful stay at Kathryn’s seaside holiday home. Kathryn popped along to ensure we had checked in successfully and gave us a very warm welcome. The apartment is ideally located for the metro, the beach and everything Whitley Bay has to offer. The apartment itself was super clean, comfortable and very homely with everything you need for a great stay, from a well equipped kitchen to a selection of board games. The parking area was ideal and being so close to the beach and metro meant we didn’t have to use the car again during our stay. The space was perfect for us as a couple with two large dogs. Kathryn made recommendations of local cafes to visit which was a lovely touch. Would absolutely recommend and hope to return. Thank you for a great stay

This was our 2nd stay and it was just as we remembered. Immaculately clean, easy check in, great location, easy to walk into Durham yet peaceful. We love staying here, it feels homely and has everything you need. Already looking at dates for our next trip. Thanks Steph ☺️

Beautiful apartment. Lesley-Ann was very helpful, much appreciated sorting out a highchair for us at short notice despite not being on the initial listing. Exceptionally quiet considering its location under the bridge, walkable for great restaurants etc. We didn’t find the steps to be much of an issue at all despite having lots to carry. Easy to unload bags from the car on the road, then Quayside multi-storey was very convenient and cheap. Loved our stay! To note for other parents: The travel cot provided was basic, with a thin and quite hard foldable mattress that doesn’t stretch to the sides of the cot, and doesn’t attach to the sides of the cot. The sheet on the mattress didn’t fit, so spare material creasing up. It did the job for our toddler but if he had been a baby I’m not sure I would’ve been happy with it.

A spacious, cosy flat in a friendly, quiet neighbourhood. Cat was so welcoming & really helped with my same day request to stay at the flat. She made sure that the flat was cleaned thoroughly & made sure it was warm & cosy when we arrived only a few hours later. Highly recommended.
