Vacation rentals with lake access in Nantahala Lake

The cabin was very peaceful and beautiful sitting on Alarka Creek. The private dock was easily accessible with pontoon. We had a week long fishing trip/vacation and it was an amazing time with my family. I will say if your driving a truck pulling a boat it is accessible but it can be very tight. I have a crew cab long bed chevy pickup pulling a 21 poontoon. I got in and turned around and backed down the private boat ramp but it was extremely tight. It takes some very strategic maneuvering to do it. So yes it can be done with a truck and trailer that long. The water was down a little so the water was too shallow to lift the pontoon off the trailer so i had to go Alarka Creek boat ramp to put the boat in the water.

great stay right on the lake!! had everything we needed. kitchen equipped with enough to make our thanksgiving dinner. beds were comfy. she even asked if we wanted it decorated for Christmas.🎄 close to some beautiful hiking trails/falls. kids wanna go back for summer! raechel was always quick to reply and helpful with anything

We had an amazing stay! The house was spotless and very cozy. It was peaceful, quiet and very relaxing sitting on the porch and listening to nature. Dawn was a great host!

Beautiful location with lake access right out the back door. Lovely kitchen and living area. We were there during a cold Thanksgiving weekend. The house was warm, no issues. Becky is very quick to reply and you will NOT be sorry that you reserved her place!

The house was exactly as advertised. Incredibly clean and well stocked. Easy to get in and even smelled great. The kitchen was equipped with EVERY utensil we possibly needed. We were only able to use the paddle boards on our last day due to weather but they were great when we did. Also enjoyed a campfire and saw a million stars on clear nights. Overall we loved the place and felt right at home.

I cannot tell you enough how much of a Dream this home is. 11/10!! I truly wish I had booked more days in time! I spent my anniversary here and it was everything I could have ever asked for. Getting there does require going through a gravel path that may be steep-ish to some smaller cars and you may struggle with gps/cellular connection getting closer to the location (as a 100% honest experience worth sharing to consider preparing ahead of time for). Your destination will be more than worth it once you manage! The hot tub, the fire pit, the rushing waters, the loft-style abode with high ceilings, in combo with home-cooked meals will make you feel like you have a slice of heaven on Earth. I’ll definitely be booking again, (hopefully for another anniversary) and you should too!! Thanks Matthew!

This vacation involved checking out the area for an upcoming wedding. For the house, we wanted lots of space in the house and easy parking, bathrooms for each family group, family space to hang out, easy walking, and of course access to the lake. All of these happened plus great porch space with the firepit and also the outdoor firepit. The stairs to the lake provided a work out and planning for the day. That is the only consideration for others to be aware of, is if they have a family member that has issues with stairs. The area is beautiful and exactly what we hoped for and this home with the easy contact for any issues or questions made it a great week!

Basement apartment in a pretty neighborhood with lots of deer and squirrels to watch. 🐿️🦌 Darby and Tim showed consideration by leaving lights on for our after dark arrival, removing scented candles for our allergies, and running an air purifier. The self-check in feature was smooth and well explained. If you’re a heavy sleeper, this will be a perfect place to be. Since the stay is on a lower level, there is noise overhead, especially in the early mornings (people and pets). We had privacy and were able to be left alone unless we needed to ask anything. Very friendly hosts.

Adorable efficiency suite . Great view of the lake and suitable areas to walk our dog. Very clean and quiet. Was an easy drive into Hiawassee.

The resort is lovely! It’s a nice get away. Just keep in mind cell service is limited in this area! It’s beautiful. 😍

My stay was peaceful and enjoyable,and Lynn was a responsive and accommodating host. The apartment is bright and cheery, with a fun, lake cottage vibe. Bed was comfortable and the drapes cut out light pollution at night for a peaceful night's rest. The location between Hayesville and Hiawassee is quiet, but you are just minutes from excellent small town amenities in those towns as well as Murphy, Franklin, Blairsville and Helen. Despite rainy spells during my stay I was able to walk in municipal parks or greenways in just about all those places. This is an ideal spot for singles and couples who like lots of activity options in a quit location. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay! The place was clean, the bedroom in the picture does not do it justice it is very nice in person! The hot tub does take a while (little over an hour) to heat up but feels great on a chilly morning or evening. They have coffee but no sugar or creamer that i could find but we drank ours black so that was not a problem for us. (just be sure to bring that) The only issue we had as apple users was navigating to the house. You have to manually enter the address, if you just click on it from airbnb and “open in apple maps” it will take you to a totally different house (oops🤣) also this is a shared house so you may hear footsteps or noise from upstairs, but that is just the nature of renting a place like this!

First of all, follow Debi’s detailed instructions and don’t rely on google maps! It is easy to find if you do. I got lost and Debi went above and beyond by meeting me at an intersection so I could follow her home. What a peaceful haven Debi has created! Comfortable and cosy with amazing gardens. I wish I’d had more time. I will be back!

Margarita's place had everything we needed, and were looking for for an impromptu weekend getaway. It was close to the Jackrabbit trails, which we enjoyed with friends, and the lake. Plus, we enjoyed a bonus sunset drink, with some great food truck bbq, on the new dock bar! We would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our 3-night stay. Good layout for a family of 3 or 4. Thank you for your availability to respond to questions and being a great host.

My family and I had a great time at Kay's place! We especially loved the variety of kitchenware. The view of the pond was also a favorite of everyone's.

Nice, clean, peaceful, private, relaxing, and as described, except for internet. I did log onto the house wifi. The wifi was not connected to the internet. I had less than one bar of cell service. There was a wired land line phone on the wall, which had no dial tone. There were many notes with help phone numbers, but no way to call. Because I was seeking a quiet retreat, I did not mind this.

We loved our stay at Terry's place in the beautiful mountains of western NC! His place is super comfortable, bright, and convenient to everything. Terry was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. We would definitely stay again!

Had a great stay! While a bit remote, the house was really nice and exactly as pictured. It’s in a quiet and peaceful location on the lake. Bob was responsive and has the house well stocked. We especially enjoyed the kayaks and getting out on and exploring the lake.

This was one of the most magical places we have ever stayed. I can’t speak highly enough about this cottage and its surroundings. It was luxurious, spotless, and had everything we needed for a peaceful getaway. Close to town with great shops and restaurants, but also very private and serene. One of the best trips we have taken in a very long time. I can’t recommend this beautiful home enough.

Bree and Boyd were great hosts! Very responsive, had great local recommendations, and a place that felt like home. The backyard was great for our kid as snow had just fallen, so we all had plenty of room to have a snowball fight. The location was excellent - very close to downtown Highlands, a short drive to activities such as waterfalls, hiking, and snow tubing, but also felt very private. 10/10 would recommend staying with Bree and Boyd!

This cozy, beautiful spot is a treasure! Kim was very attentive to details in creating a space that is welcoming and feels like home. The kitchen was well equipped, decor blends modern and mountain cottage. Plenty to entertain at the house or nearby. The description helped us know how to best plan our visit to the area and there were great tips and maps at the house too. Beautiful scenery and a great place to enjoy birds, fall foliage, hiking and much more. So thankful for a great getaway!
