Cottage vacation rentals in Melides

An exceptional secluded paradise. We stayed there for a week to visit the Algarve and were there as a couple and with our dogseta who was delighted. Silvia provided us with instructions to get to the house properly (not following the gps). The place is very quiet, secluded and is reached by a flattened dirt trail between vineyards. The house is wooden and very big and spacious. It has a large enclosed deck ideal for being read there or playing board games. The house is well finished and secluded and has screens on all windows. The kitchen is very well equipped with all the utensils and some basic ingredients. The garden is wide with a very clean pool, of which Silvia takes care of daily without disturbing. Silvia has made it easy for us any needs and we are very happy about it; we repeat the stay without a doubt.

My family and I had an amazing time. The host, Raquel, was amazing and very responsive. The amenities of the house, the cleaningless were perfect. Our kids loved playing with the toys provided in the house or in the pool. We also managed to go to the beach (3 minutes by bike) to watch the sunset. We will definitely come back in Troia and we recommend anyone to stay there. All the best, Sébastien

It's been a wonderful vacation - the place is perfect for rest, and the photos don't do it justice. The property consists of four houses, one common (with pool, treadmill, etc.) and several lounging areas around the pool, clean and good size, as well as a pond full of fish. In the area there are several villages with supermarkets and good restaurants; Évora is 40 minutes away. It is a perfect place to get to know the Alentejo and spend the day for example in Lisbon or Évora. The owners, Mathieu and Martha, are absolutely lovely, attentive, polite and respectful. They have been attentive to our needs without being invasive. We are sure that we will repeat it, and we highly recommend it to everyone.

Excellent stay at Ana Maria's, everything is done to ensure your stay goes smoothly, the setting is beautiful and relaxing and the accommodation is very functional . We stayed for 2 weeks with the family and it was certainly the most pleasant vacation we had between the calm and the space that dedicated you without mentioning the so refreshing pool. Really a superb discovery , close to all amenities (less than 5 minutes from the village and about twenty from the beach) and at the same time so far away a real paradox that makes all the charm of this property .

Very spacious house with pleasant terraces and a lovely swimming pool. Carlos and his wife welcomed us with open arms! They were very friendly and very flexible with check-in and check-out. Absolutely recommended!

Maura is an excellent host and ambassador for the region. Nothing was too much trouble, even delivered breakfast to our room that evening, as we had to leave before breakfast was commenced in the dining room. The accommodation was exceptional and spacious..quiet and peaceful. Would be a nice getaway if we had longer!

Hosts were incredibly gracious and helpful. Made our stay feel very welcoming. Absolutely spectacular location within a nice hike to Guincho beach. Small market around the corner for essentials. Couldn’t be happier with our stay. If we go back to Cascais, will absolutely look to stay here again.

It was great to have the possibility of spending a few days in the mountain of the buganvilias! Isabel and Madalena are very welcoming people who have created a space that reveals that! I hope to have the possibility of coming back again!

We've been very comfortable at Rob's place. Very comfortable house where you could find everything you need for your stay and find the tranquility that many of us need when leaving the big cities. In a few kilometers by car huge beaches where you can enjoy a day at a quiet beach and be with the dogs. Well located to enjoy Lisbon, Sintra, Sensimbra Setubal etc enjoy its gastronomy. A pleasure to have been 15 days at Rob's place.

We were delighted with the house! The space is fantastic and it has everything we need to spend a few big days. André is extremely attentive and friendly. Always available for whatever it takes. Let's go back for sure!

This was a secluded place in the countryside but very close to town - a real cottage. Kitchen was not fancy but well stocked. We really appreciated her bringing a couple of electric heaters and firewood as it was cool in Jan. Too cold to swim but we could image hanging out by the pool. So quiet to sleep and be away from busy for a few days. Recommend.

I absolutely loved staying here. The views, both to and from the house, were spectacular, and we really appreciated the privacy the location offered. We arrived at 5am after an early flight with two toddlers, and Aline and Dinesh were incredibly gracious, allowing us to check in early to accommodate our timing. Also allowing them to work through their timing as well. We had the pleasure of meeting Dinesh in person, and he made us feel so welcomed, showing us around the house and explaining everything we needed to know. The home had such a warm, private, and inviting atmosphere with a charming cottage feel that made us feel right at home. We also had the opportunity to meet Antonio, who took us to their farm to visit the animals, which our kids absolutely loved. This place truly felt like a gem, and we could feel the magic of Sintra in every corner of the home. Should we return, my husband and I would absolutely book again.

We had a great stay and would recommend. The house had everything we needed including heating as it was pretty chilly in December! The kitchen was fully equipped, the bed was really comfortable and everything was really clean. We really loved staying within the farm and witnessed a goat give birth to two kids which was wonderful. The house is one of a few houses within the farm grounds but our pool was private and we weren’t really aware of any other guests. Quick drive to supermarkets and the beaches of Comporta and Melides were about half an hour away.

We decided on the eve to book Marías place and their reaction was promptly a very flexible. The house was just as they described, calm and private, with outdoor garden and spaces. Our 2-year old was very exited about the swing outside and we really enjoyed the indoor fireplace. House was fully equipped and the hostal were very flexible and accommodating to our requests. We certainly recommend the place!

The house feels relaxing and offers a beautiful view. We had a great time and would have loved to stay longer. The host is helpful and kind.

Beautiful property 15 minutes walk to the ocean, right on the Fishermen’s trail so you can do stunning coastal routes in both directions. The house is cozily furnished and very light as there is a lot of glass. You are staying at their property so there are people around (which we found fine). Tiago was super accommodating and friendly, gave us a lot of advice. We were there in January. As the temperature drop in the evening, the house can be cold as there is no heating. Make sure you keep the fireplace running 🙂 The dogs and cats are super friendly and welcoming (and almost don’t bark which is very untypical for Portuguese dogs 😅) See you next time, thank you for everything!
