Farmstay vacation rentals in Matamata-Piako District

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Teresa and Peter’s place. Having a second bedroom for our 15 month old to sleep in worked out well. Teresa had kindly placed some breakfast items in the fridge for us and Denver the dog would constantly drop fresh avocados outside our door. The tree-lined driveway ushers you up a hill to the main house and detached apartment that has magnificent views over the countryside towards the Kaimai Ranges from the lounge and main bedroom . The large wooden deck is a great place to relax and take in the scenery after a long drive. Matamata has a good choice of restaurants just 5 mins away. I highly recommend this AirBnB. It is clean, modern, well appointed and the hosts are very friendly and accommodating.

Such a lovely stay. The rooms were perfectly clean, comfortable and stylish. The hosts were very welcoming and thoughtful. We enjoyed Michael's archery session and Mia's amazing breakfast. The freshly baked bread was fabulous. And the lovely dog Hunter showed me around their beautiful garden!! We had a great time and it is actually the most pleasant accommodation we have ever stayed at in NZ.

Really enjoyed our two night stay here. The location was beautiful. We loved sitting out on the balcony and watching the farm animals in such a peaceful setting. The place itself isnt very large but was immaculately clean and perfectly cozy for a couple. It had everything needed - nice bed, a/c, comfy sofa, cooking equipment and even a washer. Would definitely recommend this place!

My wife and I stayed here while on a get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. What a quaint, quiet and peaceful spot! Central to Hamilton, Tauranga and Coromandel areas, with beautiful walks and views makes this spot a great base for a weekend get away. Start the morning picking your own berries. Take them with you up Wairere Falls to sweeten up your lunch. Come back and enjoy a hard earned fresh real fruit ice cream made by Sue herself to cool down. Then enjoy the rest of the afternoon basking in the sun! Thanks Sue and Ron for the lovely stay!

Stephen and Sue have a lovely wee air bnb studio on their property. If you like some country air and peace and quiet this will be a good choice for you. Made to feel homely and equipped with all the basics you need.

Private and cosy . Loved the outdoor shower and toilet . Thanks for the care and attention to detail in the cabin.

We had a great stay! The place was as described, beautiful setting and had everything we needed. Loved using the pool! Juliet was a lovely host and we got to meet her lovely doggie who was absolutely beautiful!

Jane’s accomodation is in a super easy location near Cambridge with a lovely peaceful environment. The house had everything we needed plus a very generous breakfast (not only eggs!).

Great big space, would be good for bigger groups. Perfect base for Hobbiton Clean and tidy Nice big TV!

Fabulous spot. Of the 10 air BnBs we stayed in here in New Zealand this was our favorite. Quiet, Clean and comfortable, the spot had high end amenities and linen. The shower was awesome. Kylie made the extra effort to ensure that all of our needs were met. The fresh hot bread was a super bonus. From the fresh eggs from her chickens, fresh picked lettuce just outside our door, home baked cookies and a refrigerator stocked with fresh breakfast goods…this place had it all! Highly recommend 😀

Great place to stop on our journey up and down the north island. Perfect for my family with young ones. Very cool to have kune kune pigs, chooks and a playground right in the backyard. We hope to stay here again in the future!

The cottage was well maintained and thoughtfully supplied with all kind of useful kitchen tools and equipment. It is in the peaceful and beautiful location, the host is responsive and helpful. The location is very peaceful and beautiful. I would strongly recommend this place if you are looking for rural getaway to relax and recharge.

Perched high on a hill in Te Miro, this B&B run by Tony and Zani is an absolute gem. The panoramic views over Cambridge are breathtaking, and the attention to detail makes every moment feel special. From the private spa pool twinkling with fairy lights and serenaded by morepork calls, to the infinity pool with views that stretch forever, relaxation is effortless. Freshly baked croissants in the morning, chocolates on your pillow, luxurious linens, and a bath overlooking native bush — complete with candles and scented oils — add a touch of indulgence. Swooping kererū, drawn to the ancient Miro trees, bring life to the peaceful surroundings, while Woofie the dog adds a heartwarming touch. A truly tranquil escape where nature and luxury intertwine perfectly.

My family stayed here at the last minute when our other accommodation fell through and we were absolutely blown away! A beautiful home with beautiful surroundings. So peaceful and awesome waking up with cows around you! Felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Wendy was a superstar host with fresh milk and a fully stocked cupboard and freezer for us for a continental breakfast. We felt very spoiled and well looked after by Wendy. Never been happier to have our accomodation fall through - can’t wait to stay again soon!

Our stay at Sue's place was great. The views of the lake were beautiful and the place was clean. Sue was incredibly sweet. She helped us with check-in and also stopped by the next morning with fresh baked bread. She left peaches and apples from their farm for us as well. So delicious! The water was just sprayed for weeds so we couldn't swim. Also, opening the back slider for even a brief second after dark let in tons of bugs. Overall, though, our stay was awesome albeit brief.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It was peaceful and relaxing. We loved spending our mornings on the sunny deck and lounge, enjoying the beautiful surroundings. We hope to visit again.
