House vacation rentals in Mad River

We had a great 3 night stay for a family ski trip to Stowe. The place was much nicer than the pictures give it credit for! Felt pretty updated and we loved the art/decor. The 2 br and 2 full baths are on the 2nd floor. Our kids stayed in the br with 2 smaller twins (beds perfect for smaller kids & fit our middle schooler, but beds likely not big enough for taller adults/teens!). AirBNB was stocked with games, and we didn't have time for the pool/hot tub, but was a quick drive through the parking lot. We bought food at the organic grocery a few minutes away for snacks/breakfasts, but had lunch/dinner out. Piecasso and Idyletime were both great meals and only a few minute drive away. We ended up driving to the mountain and (paid) parking wasn't an issue in the mornings, but over the holidays, parking filled up at the main lots by afternoon. The shuttle bus is a close walk, but parking at the resort was surprisingly easy. Thank you!! Would definitely recommend!!

This is a beautiful property tucked away in the hills of farmland above Norwich. It was perfect for an extended family getaway. Kids loved the pool, ping-pong table and pool table and we loved cooking in the well-appointed kitchen. Great little hike with outstanding views about 20 minutes away on Gile Mountain.

This location was one of my favorites! More than accommodating, so clean, super family friendly! perfect space for family and friends to gather and enjoy the time together 💜 it was an incredible stay, we cannot wait to come back!

Our stay in Sara and Mikes home in Waitsfield was incredible! Upon arrival into the mad river valley, the surrounding views were instantly beautiful and calming. The moment we stepped in the house we honestly felt right at home. The layout of the house is so calming and tasteful. Everything is perfectly organized, down to the labeling for all of the dishes and cookware so you’ll never have trouble finding what you need! Waking up and heading by downstairs for a workout in the home gym, followed by a dip in the hot tub on the secluded back deck was an insanely relaxing way to start the day. The custom built bed frames/furniture and the overall craftsmanship of the space added a comforting artistic value to the stay. Don’t get me started on the screen porch! This house is full of amenities and I’ve honestly never felt more at home at an air b&b stay. Nice quiet respectful neighborhood in an amazing community, would recommend this spot to anyone and we hope to return in the future!

Karen’s home was so welcoming and she responded very quickly to any questions I had. I would/will book again soon! I felt very at home!

Loved this place. Both couches have pull out in addition to the two bedrooms. Plenty of linens as well. Easy ski in ski off access as well.

Lovely house and beautiful lot! Spent lots of time playing in the yard, swimming in the pool and exploring all the things that Stowe has to offer. We'll be back!

We had a great time at this modern but cozy house! Very spacious and well stocked with everything we needed. The sauna was a great addition as well. The only issue was the driveway which was extremely challenging for our cars to get up with all the snow. Having all wheel drive is a must for getting up the driveway in the winter and for navigating all the surrounding area’s roads. The host was very responsive and friendly. Would recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful VT stay. Was about a 40 minute drive to sugarbush resort.

This is a great house to stay in. There's a lot of space, places to sleep, sit and relax, eat, watch tv, play games, work, read, cook. Plenty of hot water.. Very private, although in a neighborhood. Nice back yard area when not covered in snow, looking up at the mountains behind. Sheri is top notch. Easy to reach, super friendly and helpful, easy going. We came at the tail end of a snow storm, but the driveway was cleared enough to get our car in and then Sheri worked with us to make sure everything was cleared before we had to go out the next day. Easy walk into the cute town of Bristol. Handful of nice shops (books, games, art, crafts, gifts, toys) and restaurants: Wokky's--ok Chinese/great staff; Minifactory--out of sight coffee/biscuits/sandwiches/fresh ingredients/lot of gluten free; Cubber's--locals' joint/excellent pizza/sandwiches; Farmhouse Chocolates--superb fresh organic truffles, bars, caramels/chocolatier is wonderful. Easy drive to Mad River Glen, Sugarbush for skiing.

Beautiful home, as described. Nice personal touches with towels and mini shampoo/conditioner. Kitchen is large and has most every appliance you would want. Caretaker does come in twice per day but is friendly and unobtrusive. You do need AWD/4WD to access the house.

Incredible space - only complaint is we didn’t rent it for a week! Luxe details - the beds, the towels, even the smallest thoughtful details made it extraordinary. Jen nailed it, 10/10. My family agreed it was one of the most relaxing, comfortable weekends we could’ve experienced. Truly special. Thank you to Jen for taking the time to create such a wonderful space for guests to enjoy.

High school reunion weekend with friends was great because this house was so versatile. Dinners, games and chillin’ were easy to do here. The view of Stowe was amazing. If you have a small group or a large group this place is great.

Tamara’s place is awesome! Big enough space for everyone to hang out which can be hard to find for bigger groups. 3.5 bathrooms are another huge plus! I would highly recommend her place, great location and great host!!!

The house was perfect for our large family in town for the UVM graduation. Very close to school and close enough to walk to Church Street. The house was comfortable and clean and came as described. Having no access to a kitchen sink was the only thing that was somewhat difficult but we knew going in that we had no kitchen to use. Coffee machine, microwave and toaster got us though the weekend.

Aaron’s place was awesome! Nice cozy home up in the mountains with a great view! We could even see the Stowe resort which was a plus! Place was very clean too! We loved the wood burning stove and sauna, perfect for our little winter get away. We would love to come back!

Liza’s home was beautiful, and it couldn’t be closer to Stowe Mountain Resort. It was the perfect ski trip house for my group, and the host was incredibly accommodating and helpful.

This home is beautiful, spacious and is surrounded by nature. The backyard had a huge deck with a tree lined backyard and you can hardly see the next neighbour. There are rolling hills and cows in the next pasture. So serene. The house has lots of room in the main area for our family, it never felt crowded. The kitchen looks better then the pictures, with a huge island and the entire house is fully stocked. You can tell this is not just a rental as it had more then we expected to live comfortably. She was also kind enough to bring us some baby items. The location is great as wherever you turn it's beautiful but also within driving distance to Stowe. The local towns are really cute too. Our family really enjoyed our time here.

Very unique house with incredible views. Great location for getting outside, and had everything we needed. Was perfect for skiing and we would love to see this place in the summer!

Home away from home! Susan was a fantastic host. She was very responsive and communicated quickly. This home was perfect for our group of 6 and it was extremely cozy! This was our first time in Vermont and it definitely exceeded all of our expectations. If you looking for a pleasant place to stay with amazing views, look no further than this adorable Airbnb! We skied in Stowe, toured the Ben and Jerry’s ice cream factory down the road and enjoyed some live music at the ZenBarn. I would highly recommend this property! We hope to visit again soon :)

My group and I enjoyed staying a few nights at Karen’s place. Great location in terms of being close to the town center and Stowe Ski Resort. For such close proximity to attractions, my group thought Karen’s place was a great value compared to some of the other listings in the area. It also felt private and had a very nice view. We enjoyed warming up by the gas fireplace after a long day of skiing.
