Family-friendly vacation rentals in Lake Buchanan

Well equipped, comfortable, and spotless place… location is very peaceful and serene… Overall we had a great stay! Few nitpicks to note: 1. Hard to comprehend from pictures alone how low the lake is. There really is no lake access at this time. 2. Not sure I would call “private”. Hosts live upstairs and have a full view of the patio area. Not an issue for us (and hosts are unobtrusive and very friendly) but could be for some 3. I’m very picky about light bulbs so this is a personal preference, but the light bulbs are very bright white LEDs which, in my view, takes away from an otherwise warm space.

Our family had a very enjoyable stay over Spring Break. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed, and the pool and hot tub on site were fantastic. Location was perfect for exploring the beautiful Texas hill country, but was offered great proximity to town as well. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone considering it.

This was the best birthday trip ever! Jaya was very responsive to messages and provided plenty detailed useful information. Her place was quiet and just steps away from breathtaking views. Perfectly located from the parking garage, elevator and pool/spa. We would definitely choose to stay again in the future.

We went there to celebrate my daughter’s sweet 16. The girls loved the goals, fire pit for smores, and hot tub. A great time was had!

Travis was an exceptional host. He was quick to communicate if anything was needed and offered multiple amenities. The space itself is very private, great for photos especially around the lake, it's just you and nature. If the weather wasn't so cold we definitely would've hit the water. Hadn't ever heard of spicewood before, but would come again! Thank you again Travis!

My family and I only had 3 days to get in a quick getaway. We wanted scenery - we got it . Right on top of a huge lake. Unfortunately -it was so cold we never got to sit on the porch and enjoy a cup of coffee . Perhaps next time. The condo was very clean and the rental agency was extremely great about returning messages and questions . I can appreciate that. The only very minor issue was the garage parking . It was just a bit dated and dark . Could possibly use some repairs and HAPPINESS lol. It did give me some concern because this is the first visual you have BEFORE you get to your condo lol. However the condo was very nice and we overcame the parking garage esthetics . Would we come back again -yes very possible . Thank you for the trip !

Love this hidden little Hill Country gem of a place! Hosts greeted us & gave clear instructions prior to arrival. Friendly goats & chickens! Lots of variety of birds! Really enjoyed the climb down to the hidden deck at the creek. So grateful Patti & David shares their little slice of Heaven with others!

Janet’s place was absolutely beautiful! From the amazing decks to the great space of the acreage, the stars at night to the gorgeous vantage points for the sunset and sundown, it was amazing! We accidentally and embarrassingly locked ourselves out the first morning and Janet was so quick in her response, and was able to let us in. My wife and I are little nature nerds with a sweet tooth and the thoughtful details of the trail books and field guides, and the apple pecan muffin and lemon bars were magnificent. 10/10 would visit again.

This was our second time staying with Jim and Deb. They are wonderful hosts and their place is beautiful.

Her tiny house is adorable yet very functional. So peaceful with beautiful views of sunrise and sunset.

Gayle was extremely helpful for the whole process. She was very quick to respond and accommodating. I took my grown twin daughters, and my niece and their families and their two weenie dogs. It was very comfortable. We had plenty of room. The view was great from the deck. The fence in the area out front was great for the little weenie dogs. We loved the back shower! Thank you for the hospitality!

Kris' cabin was wonderful. The location was good and we enjoyed the ranch land and animals behind the cabin. We highly recommend this cabin for others. Cleanliness is my priority when booking a stay and Kris' cabin was very clean. Thank you for a great weekend stay. Shawna

This was our second stay at Sans Souci and we knew what to expect: a clean house, comfortable beds, a well-equipped kitchen, quiet, and directly on the water with kayaks we could use. We mostly came to see family, but we loved our time at the house, in the garden, and on the water.

The home met our expectations and was a practical solution for our trip.

Beautiful place. Beautiful views We loved the amenities with two really nice pools. 15 -20 minutes to cute spots to eat. Host was great with all the suggestions. The unit was nicely stocked and they did not expect us to clean just pick up and take out trash. We loved our time here, it was the perfect space for our two families with teens.

Liza's place was truly a tropical gem! Just a few steps away from her clean & comfy condo was a sandy beach with plenty of seating, umbrellas for shade and warm sun for hours. There was a fishing dock, playground and huge, beautiful view of the lake. My family of 3 had plenty to do, felt safe and had everything we needed thanks to our generous host. I knew if I needed anything I would be assisted by her quickly. Highly recommend the home & host for future trips!

The place is beautiful and quiet. The amenities are good and as described. There were tons of deer on the property and nearby (be careful when driving). Not too many interesting places nearby in the "neighborhood," but that should be obvious. The lake and the on-property amenities are the attractions. Only negative was that the place was not very clean: some things had stains, a lot of things were dusty, nothing smelled clean, and towels and bedding in storage smelled funky. The place was not disgusting or anything, but the cleaning fee set expectations that were not met.

Awesome place, good for big groups - great view of the lake from the back porch. Very peaceful place. Our group had a nice time, if you want to get away from the city things a great place for it.

We've stayed at 10 different airbnb's this year and this place was by far the best! From the spacious secluded backyard to the extra amenities throughout the home. We loved spending the holidays here. Their family decorated the place for Christmas to make it feel like a loving home. We come to Austin several times each year and look forward to coming back!

The condo is nicely decorated with a comfy bed. Hosts were incredibly responsive. Kitchen was well stocked. Our grandchildren who came to visit one afternoon enjoyed the pool that was right next to the building. One thing to be aware of is that the TVs are not smart TVs, so you have access to the 50 local channels rather than using streaming accounts. This wasn't a problem for us because we could still access our desired content, but think you should know. Another VERY enjoyable amenity is the large soaker tub in the bathroom. Great place to relax after a long hike. Will stay here again if in the area.
