Apartment vacation rentals in Lake Atitlán

the positive: the space is in the middle of the town. next to the lake within a three minute walk. the town is not a tourist destination but offers and experience of what life is like for the residents. Parking above the stairs is safe and cheap. I liked the location and the hotel but you must understand that it isn't luxurious. it is fine for travelers who are used to staying in a location for a day or two. Everything but restaurants closes by 7pm. Internet was fine. Everyone is nice and helpful in the town if you have questions or need suggestions. the negative: noisy if you do not like noise. Not because of parties or music or cars but due to animals since it is a small town. Water in shower is freezing. Alot of stairs and hills to drive or walk to get around the town. I don't mind but you might.

The Aura apartment is beautiful. The view is even more beautiful than the pictures! We also had a lot of fun with the black house cat that visited us every morning. The contact with Aisha was always super friendly, quick and helpful! The fact that the accommodation is located on such a steep mountain and you have to be well within walking distance should be aware, but it is easy to bypass by taking TukTuks. We would always come back!

Phyllis is a wonderful host. She and Blaine have an absolutely gorgeous property; the pictures don't do it justice. We actually booked a different part of the property now and plan to stay much longer if we can! We love it here. It's a perfect distance from town so it's quiet and secluded, but still close enough so that walking is great. Would highly recommend this place. The wifi is great. Lovely cozy space. Stunning Views. We arrived at night when we couldn’t see the lake, making waking up to that glorious view a truly magical experience! The place was clean and comfortable and an easy walk to many restaurants, bars, and tour guide outposts. Highly recommend this place.

We adored our time here! Annika was amazing - so helpful and always responsive. Anything you need including cleaning she would arrange. The apartment is in a perfect location within a gated and private courtyard that’s super green and lush. There are also at least 5 super friendly cats there! It made it really feel like home. It was a great set up for as digital nomads and staying right next to a great cafe. Also water delivery is included which is such a nice touch. Thank you and we can’t wait to stay here again!

The best thing about the apartment, is the view of the lake, it is located on the 10th level, the photos on the page are real, very good location, has parking, access to the pool, Jacuzzi and the hotel beach. Close to the Atitlan Reserve and other hotels that provide the Restaurant service, the Panajachel village is 5 minutes away by car. Glenda would meet our request, easy check-in and check-out.

I really loved that the room was so bright and clear with an amazing view of the lake. You can even see the sunrise from there! I would say that in 95% of accommodations in San Marcos you would not get such a bright room with that much daylight coming in, this cannot be appreciated enough! Israel also always helped me very fast with some issues (broken shower at the beginning and slow WiFi), and he even installed a new router outside of the door so that the WiFi was perfect then to be able to work from the room!

I stayed here on glorious week and could have stayed another. The place was exactly as described and the rooftop deck/kitchen was an amazing place to work and chill. It was a 50 yard walk to the lake and only a 5-10 walk to the main tourist area. It’s also about as peaceful as San Pedro gets. Town has a party vibe so you will still hear music at night and the occasional dog barking but nothing that even cheap earplugs can’t handle.

I felt immediately at home in Tzanabaj! Nico and Venus are great hosts and I loved my studio! right by the lake, peaceful, while also close to the city center (10 min tuk tuk), where the restaurants and supermarkets can be found. There is also a beautiful community living in the other houses, so you can have your privacy and socialise with other like-minded people if you want. Totally recommend!

Simple accommodation with a view to die for. the chairs should be upgraded to enjoy the patio better, but we were really happy to stay here. You need a tuktuk to town to enjoy the place comfortably, but distance wise its possible to walk. Recommended!

They would only have to improve the bathroom keys because they fall down and the things of the tinas to fill them are not, osea that are not functional. The sheets don't smell clean.

We had a great stay at Maria's! Both Maria and Rudy were super responsive and helpful throughout our stay and the check-in/out process was smooth. It was a great home base for exploring Pana and other towns around the Lake, and the view was amazing! The location was good for our family (2 adults, 1 toddler) -- a little outside of the bustle of town but easily accessible by tuk-tuk (we never waited more than 5 minutes for a pick-up, and the ride into town was less than 10 minutes). Our daughter loved the pool and playing on the grounds - it was so nice to have a safe, grassy place for her to run around! The apartment building is right next to the nature preserve, which is lovely and a great activity with kids. There's a restaurant on-site which was helpful when we didn't feel like cooking or heading into town -- we also ate at a couple of the hotels nearby (a short walk from Maria's) once or twice which was very convenient.

The suite was situated up the hill from the main town so therefore the view was absolutely stellar. It was bright, open and clean and Hodges was very responsive when we had questions. It's possible to take a TukTuk up and down the road from the main town, or you can choose to hike the stairs. We just used the TukTuk when we arrived and left, due to our luggage, but did the stairs every other day just like the locals. We looked at it as great exercise that offset our chill time in the great coffee shops and restaurants. There are no window coverings, so its essential to bring an eye mask for the light and earplugs for the dogs and roosters at night. The suite is up in the locals part of town, so although there a lot of dogs in Guatemala, there are more in the locals area, along with, chickens and roosters. This is authentic Guatemala, and the locals and super friendly. They also appreciate your greetings (hola, buenos dias... etc) when passing by.

Samuel is a great host, the atmosphere is nice and the views are amazing! We will visit again. Recommended

Hans's place was perfect for us. It is quiet yet near the town and easy to access to Panajachell The view is amazing, the house is very comfortable, and we highly recommend it.

Miguel’s place was beautiful and relaxing. Clean and spacious. Santa Cruz was a great location with less action than some of the other areas along the lake. Would highly recommend!
