Villa vacation rentals in La Fortuna

All the reviews are spot on! This is our 3rd trip to Costa Rica and we were looking for something a little different than a normal stay at a resort. Eduardo & Marshal (father & son) were the most wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcome. The house is huge! We enjoyed the balcony the most because you won’t have a better view in all of Costa Rica. It’s phenomenal! Towels were provided for trips to the hot springs. We did a rafting trip with our boys in the area, recommended and booked by Eduardo, that we will always remember. If you want to see toucans flying in the wild…book this amazing place right now. It was perfect sleeping at night. The windows were open, no bugs, and it even felt a little chilly during the night. Extra blankets were provided in all the sleeping areas. Our kids enjoyed the one bedroom apartment up top. The house has 3 separate areas for sleeping and hanging out. We loved it all and wanted to take the dog home with us! We hope to stay again!

Great place for a romantic getaway! Place was by far the cleanest place I have ever stayed, even the glasses seemed polished!

**An Absolute Gem!** This Airbnb was everything we hoped for and more. The house was clean, comfortable, and beautifully authentic to the area, with thoughtful details that really made it feel special. What really stood out was the peaceful setting—surrounded by nature, it felt like the perfect escape, yet it was still just a short drive to town for anything we needed. Our host was fantastic—super responsive, friendly, and made sure everything went smoothly from start to finish. Communication was excellent throughout. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway in a stunning location with easy access to town, this place is a gem. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

This is an excellent place to stay in La Fortuna. Host was very quick to respond & friendly. The house is on the same road of La Fortuna Waterfalls, only a 4-minute drive from the waterfall entrance. And only a couple minute drive (maybe 5 minutes max) to get to downtown La Fortuna for many restaurants. Home is exactly how the pictures show & very clean. The pool is pristine and large. There is also a natural pond on the property, along with a second fish pond. Sounds of running water and waterfalls when sitting outside. Very nice... honestly better than the pictures. We saw birds and butterflies. Very relaxing, a mini oasis! The host helped us at the last minute when plans at another hotel fell thru. I am so grateful. Air conditioning is strong and cold. Kitchen was clean & had everything we needed. Host even has a little welcome pack of goodies in the kitchen upon arrival. Perfect location. Location is near "down town", yet quiet and private. Great place. Very clean and spacious. Quiet neighborhood, but walkable to shops and restaurants.

I stayed here with my husband and 4 kids. Rossy met us to check in and showed us around. The yard is beautiful with a back porch that is serene and a wonderful spot to drink coffee in the mornings and relax in the evenings. We did not bring a car so Rossy helped us book a couple of tours and a taxi to get to them. There were at least 6 restaurants and a grocery store within a 10 minute walk. We walked over to the butterfly preserve which was really fun. The weather was hot while we were there but Rossy had several fans set up and the house cooled down at night with no trouble. Rossy even let us pick some blackberries from her garden which were delicious! Overall we had an incredible time in Monteverde and Rossy’s house was a perfect jumping off point for us.

The Villa was exactly as shown and described and provided a very comfortable stay for our three nights in La Fortuna. The host was proactive with instructions and responsive to messages and also provided recommendations upon request for our time in the area. The location is great in the sense that you are near all of the La Fortuna sights, the only thing to be aware of is that you are next to the main road and traffic can be quite loud - there are noise machines provided in both bedrooms.

It is a place to rest but at the same time there is a lot to do very close to the property. Good location, cleanliness, well equipped kitchen. A place to enjoy the Fortunately. Brooke was always attentive.

Location location location !!! Walking distance from restaurants and bars. Peaceful day and night. Had some futebol matches and hung out at the pool. Could not be happier!

We were two families with teenage kids and really enjoyed the sleeping arrangements and that each adult couple and sets of kids had their own bungalow. The area was peaceful and just outside of town but quick and easy drive/ride into town (no problem Ubering to town). It’s a very authentic accommodations but still had AC and full kitchen. The owner was very helpful and responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We loved our time here! With that said, be prepared for all the critters and sounds. Yes, there will be bugs, but we didn't mind. Yes, there will be wind at night, but you get used to it. And yes, there will lots of animal sounds! Birds in the morning, animals on the roof at night, embrace the fun in it and sleep when you get home! The home had everything you will need; we cooked every day. The beds were comfy, the showers hot, it was a great stay.

Beautiful place in a secure gated community!

Our group of 8 adults and 2 teenagers stayed at Allan & Jorge’s villa, and it exceeded all our expectations. The villa offered the perfect balance of privacy and a shared space, ideal for our group. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, and communication with our hosts was seamless. We especially appreciated the thoughtful welcome gift of fruit and drinks. Thank you, Allan & Jorge!

We really enjoyed our three-night stay at Villa Roger Arenal in April 2025. When we arrived, we were greeted by don Rogelio, who gave us the keys and walked us through the house. He provided fresh fruit and cake from a local bakery, all of which was delicious. The property and the views are even more stunning in person than the pictures. We enjoyed lounging in and by the pool with its amazing view of Arenal. The covered patio has plenty of comfortable chairs where you can relax or read in the shade. We really enjoyed watching the birds feed on the fruits left for them. The location was very convenient to downtown La Fortuna and served as a great home base for our adventures (zip lining, rappelling, hot springs, etc.). Lester gave us recommendations for local restaurants for dinner and the meals were excellent. Villa Roger Arenal is one of the nicest AirBNBs we have ever stayed at. Highly recommend it as a home base for the La Fortuna area. It was perfect for our family of 5.

We had a great family vacation at this beautiful property. The setup is ideal as the great room is large enough for everyone to spend lots of quality time together. There's a pool table, large TV and lots of seating. The location worked well for us and was about 15 to 20 minutes from most of the activities we decided upon (which William and Laura helped arrange). I would highly recommend William and Laura's place for a get together with a large group.

We had an absolutely incredible stay. The place was gorgeous—beautifully designed with such attention to detail. It was spotless, peaceful, and felt like our own little private retreat. There’s something truly magical about it; it’s one of those rare places that feels even better in person than in the photos. We didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a serene and unforgettable escape!

Super recommended place. Quiet. It has everything you need to have a pleasant time. The hostess left some amazing present for our enjoyment and comfort. Really a wonder of place. I would definitely come back. Trip with dogs and also for them the place was great and there were things thinking about their comfort. Thank you Patry for all the attention.

Kim and Gary, they value every detail of what they offer, very comfortable, for us the air conditioning is always something very important and I surpass as well as the house with all expectations, very nice the house, comfortable, tidy, and with everything at hand to get through as a family. The place is quite nice and with an unbeatable location. My children very happy.

This villa had everything we needed for our stay in La Fortuna. We were able to walk to shops and restaurants. The location was private and quiet. We spent most of our time in the home on the back patio or lounging by the pool. Our host was incredibly responsive.

Loved our stay at Peter's house! Location is perfect - close to town yet extremely private. Peter was very responsive and met with us for a smooth check-in. His home looks exactly like the photos. It was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. By far the best part of the property is the gorgeous backyard, patio, and pool. We spent most of our time there enjoying the lush landscape and wildlife. Would absolutely recommend!

Great space , close to all the attractions.

This Airbnb greatly exceeded my expectations. John was very responsive and would check in on us to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Beautiful place with beautiful people!! Lovely huge garden 4 large bedrooms with 3 ensure bathrooms and some amazing outdoor spaces. Exceeding expectations. Marco also kindly gave us a lift to town and waited for us in the shop. Short uber ride to town less than £2. Great value for money had an amazing stay. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality and friendliness. Would highly recommend especially if you’re looking for wildlife. So many different birds humming birds, and howler monkeys. Great wildlife watching spot on the covered patio and outside kitchen area especially first thing in the morning. Thanks again to Leticia and Marco. Pura Vida!!!
