We stayed at Little Halo for my fiancés 25th birthday and absolutely loved it! It has great facilities and is in an excellent location for star gazing and walks in the countryside😊 It was a lovely and relaxing stay, just what we needed after a busy few months! Charlie and Neil made it extra special by decorating the pod for Patrick’s birthday! We hope to be back soon and will be recommending Little Halo to our friends and family! Thank you so much!❤️

Incredibly peaceful rural setting overlooking Garrigill and the Tyne valley. Excellent location for just walking out with options in every direction whilst only being 20mins drive from Alston. Cottage was snug, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Host provided essentials like tea bags, milk, dishwasher tabs etc which is great, meaning you can arrive and just get on with settling in and not need to go and do a big shop. We had a wonderful week of walking and exploring, there’s plenty to see without needing to get in the car and the views are spectacular.

My first AirBnB and what a place. So friendly and welcoming and access to maps and local places to see and amazong to see the wildlife wspecially red squirrels. Brian gave me some lovely places to walk and all in all it was great. Well stocked kitchen, very comfortable and the access to the garden for the dogs was fab. Will def go back

Well, what can I say other than wow! Our time here was truly wonderful! Jim and Susan are the most lovely, warm and welcoming hosts. The cottage was absolutely beautiful! The pictures really don't do it justice and show how spacious it actually is. I couldn't stop taking pictures! I even had to video call my family and friends to show them how beautiful it was. Susan had also provided a delicious array of (top quality) goodies; which we didn't expect but were ever so grateful for. You can tell how much pride she takes and that she wants you to feel welcome. it was above and beyond. The beds were extremely comfortable, I had the best night's sleep I think I've had in years, there's also a little stream running behind the cottage which helped me drift off. Absolutely amazing location, with lovely restaurants, cafe's, views, walks, the Roman army Museum (with a lovely lake and walk just over the bridge on your right), Vindolanda, we also did a tour of Northumbria honey co Haltwhistle.

A lovely stay in a remote area. Very peaceful and was perfect for a short getaway. The cabin was clean, tidy and had all of the amenities we needed. The hosts were very friendly and responsive - we would stay here again!

Beautiful little hideaway. Located in a very peaceful village. We had 3 days here getting away from every day life and couldn't of asked for more. Very easy access to either the Pennines or lake district. Exactly what it says on the tin. Couldn't of asked for more.

Jill was very friendly. We loved the shepherds hut, very cozy. Lots of walks to do in the area and plenty of places nearby to visit in the car. We booked this for a relaxing break and it was definitely that. Loved the outdoor garden space with it bring fenced off so could let me dog out without being scared he run off. Will definitely be back 😀

We had a great time at Low Moss Cottage. The location is super rural and we had lovely walks with our dog. The cottage itself is super clean and has everything you need. We hope to come back soon!

We had a wonderful time in Alston, it's a really friendly town surrounded by breathtaking countryside. The cottage is lovely, very well equipped and decorated to a high standard, with great walks from the door (and some nice pubs to stop into on the way home); we particularly enjoyed our evenings snuggled in front of the fire. As keen walkers with an enthusiastic labrador pup / otter, some highlights were Cow Green Reservoir / Cauldron Snout, Allendale Banks and Staward Gorge, Slit Woods and Issac Tea Trail (we did the stretch from Alston towards Nenthall). We would also recommend finishing a walk with the tasty olives, warm bread and balsamic vinegar on offer at Alston House. The local Spar is very well stocked, convenient for petrol and has a good butcher and deli counter. Thank you Kay and Jon for a lovely stay!
