Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Kiawah Island

Spotting the Dragon Tree overlooking the marsh brought home the magic of St Helena! Raia's home was very comfortable and stocked with all the mod cons (a beautiful shower in the master bath, well-set-up kitchen, comfy beds). Nonetheless this place felt lived in (in the best, most authentic way), from the wonderful wicker bed to the vintage porch furniture to the Jonathan Green prints on the wall. It helped us get a sense of the community that surrounds it ( made even more vivid by our introduction to St Helena's Gullah history with Gullah-n-Geechee Mahn Tours, which we highly recommend). Because the road to the house is long and winding (and because Google Maps etc struggles with rural neighborhoods), we suggest you follow Raia's excellent directions (not your phone) and try to arrive before dark. I could sit on this screen porch forever and never feel I'd wasted a moment!

Finding a affordable place to stay to visit Charleston at a affordable price is extremely difficult. That is what I discovered. You can either get scalped downtown paying thousands - maybe a night - for a mediocre hotel, or take a chance to get a vrbo or airbnb close to town and get junk house in a slum neighborhood. I had to go to a wedding. So did other family members. I tailored my search for highest guest ratings and this property came up. Yeah it took 30 minutes to drive to town. but again - anything closer was a slum or a 1000+ a night in town. I was pleasantly surprised. This property is a older ranch in a middle class neighborhood that has been COMPLETELY remodeled - and I mean COMPLETELY. New appliances, new flooring, new paint, the furniture may be original but it was comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and safe, and it was easy to travel to the city and easy to get back. My other family members picked a airbnb rental in Mt Pleasant - spent $3000 on a dump.

We had a fantastic time at this Airbnb! Exactly as described—very clean, spacious, and served all our needs. Our hosts were very responsive and kind. We really enjoyed our first time in Beaufort and this location had us a few minutes drive from all of the action. Can’t recommend highly enough, we will be back!

Nice, welcoming home in a very quiet neighborhood. Had everything we needed and more and was located close to all the sightseeing we had planned.

The table in the carport was great for the family to gather and have dinner outdoors. The central location makes it convenient to visit the beach and downtown. This was a great spot for exploring Charleston with our family.

Loved this place! Spacious and in a good neighborhood which over the last few years, has been rapidly improving! Felt very safe for my family, though driving maps may take you some routes which may make you wonder as you get there. Again, it's safe and in a good neighborhood! Good location to things without being in the heart of downtown or Mt Pleasant, which would quickly increase the price ... this is a good value. Host was super easy to work with and even worked with us to allow an early check-in based upon our arrival. Emily was very responsive and communicated clearly. Place was clean though there were some carpet stains upstairs that one can live with. Only down-side was lack of window treatments or shades in the Master BR which made it impossible to block out the light. Even with this though, it was a good, clean home that I would recommend and would stay again.

We had a great stay! The location was perfect, the property was clean, and I loved the modern design. Alexander and Olivia were excellent hosts—very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a stay in Charleston.

It took us awhile to pick our Airbnb for Charleston, but we were glad we picked Bohemian Darts hosted by Brett. We came to Charleston for a girls weekend with long time high school friends. The price was reasonable. The location was excellent; we could walk to North King and easily drive into the historic section. The apartment is a single second floor unit above a design business. The apartment was clean and spacious with simple, tasteful decor. The kitchen was well equipped, including a drip coffee maker and dish washer (and 8 coffee mugs!). The living room was comfortable for four of us to hang out in between activities. Brett was quick to respond to the wifi/Internet issue caused by a local outage. Parking is available onsite for one car. There is a coffee/smoothie/breakfast/wine shop across the street and a bagel place a block or two toward King. We would stay here again! (and yes, there are darts, but we didn't play)

Kenneth was very helpful and allowed us to check in early. The place was very clean and perfect for our getaway. It was in the center of all of the areas we needed to be. Thanks for a great stay!

This was a nice, well stocked place within walking distance of a bunch of great shops and restaurants. The host responded quickly and provided all the necessary information. I would stay here again and recommend to others who want to explore Charleston.

Highly recommend. The apartment is beautiful and clean with stunning views. The location is great as it is next to a restaurant and coffee shop. Downtown is a short drive over the bridge. Tom is a great host and provided lots of recommendations for the area.

Absolutely loved my stay here. I came for the Cooper River Bridge Run and it was quick and easy to take the shuttles and get to and from Mt Pleasant and downtown. It was close to all the Beaches and 10 minutes from downtown Charleston and Close to restaurants and shopping and all around a great stay. They were kind and very responsive to my needs. Very clean and organized stay. There is a back patio to enjoy a glass of wine , while my son watched Disney. Loved the setup.

Great location, parked the car and walked everywhere. Nice to have the patio and 3 bathrooms with a large group. Quiet location at night.

Matthew's place was great! It was comfortable, clean, well appointed, as shown on-line, and centrally located in downtown Charleston. The bed was comfortable and gave us a good night's sleep every night (not always a given...). And Matthew was very responsive. We had a light bulb out in the bathroom; it was fixed within a couple hours. Last, but not least, when we left a phone in the apartment, Matthew saw to it that we received it the next day. He really took great care of us. We will definitely stay there again!

I cannot say enough great things about renting from the boys of HHI. They were so responsive thru out my booking process, leading up to the trip and during my stay. The house was wonderful and they had so many touches that made you feel right at home. The house had everything we needed and more for our stay. It is so rare to stay at an AirBnB and have the luxury of staying at a hotel (shampoo, body wash, coffee, snacks etc) but that’s what they provide. Highly recommend!

This condo was absolutely beautiful! The location was peaceful with a great view and right by a beach boardwalk. The inside looked to have been recently updated and it was done with exquisite taste. The kitchen was gorgeous and the bathrooms had a spa-like feel. It was decorated beautifully and tastefully. I appreciated that it had everything needed, but was clutter-free!

An excellent location with a great view of the lagoon, this condo was the perfect place to unwind with a week of Spring Break biking and beach walks. Comfy furniture both inside and out and a well-appointed kitchen made for an easy rainy Sunday as well as a few lazy evenings in. Night Heron Park and the beach are only minutes away by bike or on foot, making the Park Villas a convenient location for couples and families alike. We'd stay at this condo again.

We really enjoyed our stay. This was our first time to visit Dataw. Its a pretty posh gated community. The outdoor pool with bar is amazing. The views in the community are beautiful. We have stayed in the area before, but the Dataw location was very convenient to Beaufort and Hunting Island Beach(which is a must do). The area is very pet friendly with many restruants with pet friendly patio dinning. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a peaceful and relaxing vacation.

This was a perfect spot for my family! We were right down the street from our grandparents house on the island. It was clean, comfortable and just as it was described. The location is beautiful with the most gorgeous view of the sunrise. We will definitely be staying here again should we need another place in the future.

This was a great spot for our group of three women. We all had our own bedroom and bathroom. We were able to prepare some meals there and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable with great linens. The family room was a great space to hang out together. This was a great location and a quick walk to the private beach area.

We absolutely loved our stay at Vicki’s villa on Seabrook. The location is perfect, private and peaceful, nestled in the Live Oaks with beautiful views from each of the FOUR outdoor areas. It is an easy walk to the beach and the club, which has a great pool and lounge area on an embankment overlooking the ocean. We love to cook, and the kitchen is fabulous, well appointed with all the equipment you need to make meals. Vicki and the management were also incredible with communication. We couldn’t have asked for a better week. We highly recommend Vicki’s villa—you will experience a peaceful escape and right at home.

What a gem! We had the best stay here. It is so lovely - everything is extremely high quality, from dishes, to linens, to bikes, etc., it is a luxury experience at a great price. My kids had the best time in the outdoor shower every day - it heats up so quickly and helped us keep sand out of the house. We also love the sunroom overlooking the golf course. The area under the house with ping pong is so fun! I loved working out down there. Grayson was extremely responsive and friendly, too! We would absolutely love to stay here again!
