Highly recommend Emily! The homestay is brand new, not old converted room, with a one-family construction design, and the interior is clean.The layout is reasonable, the first floor is the living area, and the second floor is the tatami sleeping room.The mattress is moderately hard and very comfortable.Like the drying function in the bathroom for rainy and snowy weather, the clothes will dry for a while.The whole house also has excellent cooling and heating.The location is excellent, with living facilities such as Aeon and convenience stores within a 5-minute walk, and it takes only ten minutes to get to Kyoto Station, which greatly saves the cost of transportation.The surroundings are quiet and safe, and the snow outside the door is super healing when it snows. From the moment you book, you can feel the care and enthusiasm of the host.“Anything you need help with, feel free to ask me anytime, just like home,” she says.(It was warmed up), I met a lot of snow when I left the store, I couldn't take a JR, and I couldn't get a taxi, Emily actively coordinated, and finally asked a Japanese uncle to take us to another station to take the airport bus.In the heavy snow, Uncle helped us drag the suitcase all the way, and the glasses were damped by the fog many times, but in total politely stopped waiting for us to keep up, and patiently taught us to buy tickets to the station, and I didn't feel comfortable leaving until I watched us safely board the car.This touching and unforgettable! Such a warm and thoughtful homestay, must go to Kyoto in the future.

We really enjoyed staying at Yu place! It was a beautiful home in a very calm and quiet neighbourhood. It was close ro the train station also close to mini mart just down the road. The house was very cozy and comfortable. The host was super responsive, we are recommended Yu place for your next holiday to Kyoto.

A very cosy and comfortable apartment with lots of modern conveniences. The host had gone to quite a bit of trouble to provide helpful instructions and responded quickly when we had queries. Located in a nice neighbourhood, we would recommend it as a very pleasant place to stay.

I stayed at Shan’s place during the coldest time of the year. The location is super convenient, with easy access to everything. The house itself is spacious and well-designed, spread across three floors: 1st floor: The entrance opens directly into the dining area, with no living room. 2nd floor: A full bedroom and a separate bathroom. 3rd floor: Another full bedroom with a large en suite bathroom, plus a laundry washer and dryer. The host, Shan, is excellent—quick to respond and very helpful throughout the stay. The house has heaters on every floor, but even with them running, the extreme cold outside still made it feel chilly in winter. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, and the beds were very comfortable. There’s no stovetop, but the microwave is convenient. The detailed house manual and instructions were very helpful. Overall, a great stay, with a spacious home, responsive host, and prime location—just be prepared for the cold during winter.

Amazing, well-designed space. Much bigger than I was expecting. We stayed only one night, but this would be a great place for a longer stay, felt right at home. The outdoor bath was the highlight.

The house is beautiful and large. Great for a lot of people. There is no main communal seating area but the two master bedrooms have lots of room with couches in them. You can slightly hear the BBQ restaurant next door but not too bad. Google maps places the location on the house located on the corner of the street. It’s not correct. Additionally, the “350” address is not located on the door or entryway so it was a bit tough to find at first. Overall a great stay. It’s a very nice, stylistic home.

Perfect location for exploring Kyoto, away from the crowds, but with loads of great bars and restaurants nearby. The building is truly unique and is even nicer than the pictures with lots of luxurious touches. Very highly recommended! One word of warning (not a complaint!) this is a traditional Japanese house and so is not designed for tall people. I am 6’1” and cracked my head on the doorways a lot during the first few days!

A most amazing home in Kyoto, felt really authentic and it was the experience we wanted. I would give it a completely perfect rating, I just wish there was a coating/covering on the walls, I looked it up, and apparently its called “Tsuchikabe” it looks beautiful but also produces a lot of dust. It could be protected with some type of sealant, but might spoil the aesthetic. Aside from that, it was really clean, I would definitely book here if I visit Kyoto again. The location was convenient too. Taxis/Cabs seemed to be instantly available there as well. Thank you for providing us with this experience Onjo-san! We all appreciated the stay!

Although the walk back never got quicker the apartment had enough space for our 11 people to relax after a long day. Be prepared for some people in a big group to sleep on tatami mats. But otherwise a lovely stay! Will be highly considered on our return trip.

The house with the Japanese style was great. With a very beautiful and relaxing garden. The area is very pleasant and quiet to rest after a long day. The host is very responsive and attentive to requests throughout the stay. If I come back to Kyoto, I plan to take over the same place.

Takeshi’s place was a great place for our family of 5. It was a great size and had lots of room. The stairs are extremely steep and felt like I was climbing a ladder- slightly concerning for small kids in the middle of the night to get to the toilet. The location was easy enough to get to, however Takeshi’s address provided does not match the location on google maps. Thankfully the photographs provided in the ad helped us locate the property. The shower room had black mould on the walls, but it is quickly forgotten as the shower is possibly the best I’ve experienced from an air bnb- the pressure is perfect and instantly hot hot hot! Not knowing the Kyoto area at all (first time visitors), we would have liked to have been closer to tourist areas of interest and a more traditional Japanese neighbourhood (but this is our error for not having done enough research!) Overall, We loved staying in this traditional Japanese town house, and would recommend it to others.

The location is near Kyoto station, and the place is very clean and beautiful. It was an amazing stay, and the bed was super comfy. But You can hear the train in the daytime and in the evening so if you would like an extra quiet stay inside the bed all day, it might bother you. I’m a bit of sensitive person but it was totally fine for me. The host is very communicative. Thanks!

A lovely home stay. Definitely for a more relaxed experience. Not many places are open late nearby but the house and facilities are excellent for staying in. The trains are loud but you get used to it and they stop around midnight. An overall wonderful place.

It’s a very traditional Japanese house with a big yard , just not easy for public transportation better with a car But can enjoy a quite local like Japan experience

We had a fantastic one-night stay at this Airbnb with our family of eight. The house was fully equipped with plenty of amenities, making our stay very comfortable. The location was ideal—just a short walk to the train station, and the surrounding area was quiet, offering a peaceful retreat. The spacious hall was perfect for family time, allowing us to gather and relax together. We truly enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a convenient and comfortable place to stay.

Good location, easy to go everywhere.But the whole family walked around Kyoto, and there was no car, and Arashiyama itself was beautiful.The unit was very clean and all of that had all the amenities and had a very comfortable stay!Feel warm at home on cold freezing days.
