House vacation rentals in Kalyves

We stayed there during the autumn holidays and can highly recommend the house. Since we had a rental car, the place was easy to reach. You have a private parking space and felt very comfortable and safe, as the houses are additionally secured by a gate. The location is a bit secluded, but very private and quiet. The view of the ocean is breathtaking and the private pool was just great. Everything was sparkling clean, the beds were cozy and the decor in the house perfectly adequate and very modern. A dining table is not available in the house but that didn't bother us in any way, as the weather in October was still so good that we could always eat outside. Maria helped us check in and gave us good excursion tips almost daily and inquired if everything was okay. The photos in the description are true to the original and reflect exactly what you actually find. We were super satisfied

We really enjoyed our stay. The accommodation is very lovingly furnished, clean and has a fantastic location right on the beach. The surrounding area is perfect for sightseeing (close to Chania, Aptera) and hiking. The hosts were very easy to reach and very friendly - there were even some Greek delicacies to welcome us. We would love to come back and can highly recommend this place! Thank you very much!

The villa is absolutely gorgeous. It is in a small town with no facilities (apart from a very informal cafe next door), but the quiet area was exactly what we were looking for. Yes there are some dogs etc, but not excessive, the noise is just local life in the town, which was actually really lovely. The hosts were extremely communicative, we had a few minor issues, but they were sorted in a matter of minutes! Loads of tavernas, beaches, supermarkets within a very short drive, spoilt for choice for loads of amazing food. Highly recommend a stay here, the villa, area, food and people were all fantastic.

Especially Ourania - Dafnis mother and Malfada (Dafnis dog under the care of Ourania) really made us feel at home. She showed us what Cretan hospitality is including local food. Coming home in the evening and sometimes staying there during the day was always a pleasure - both under the wonderful Maulber tree in the courtyard and in the beautiful house. There were plenty of excursions - beautiful beaches and good food too. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Beautiful villa in a wonderful setting, the outside space is really spectacular. Everything you could need is available at the villa. We were staying with a 10m old and there were loads of baby items which made our trip so much easier. The hosts couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating and helped us with recommendations when we asked. Would highly recommend this villa. It’s also within easy driving distance to lovely places on the island.

We were a party of five, my wife and I and 3 30 year olds, our two twins and a son-in-law. We all couldn't say enough good things about this home: the view has to be one of the best on the whole island, relaxing, extremely private and immediately felt right at home. Starting and ending each day with that view, I didn't need anything else, but there is as much to do as you want. For example, just 6 minutes down the hill, you have the great little town of Platka with a few delicious local restaurants, market and a nice sports bar if you want a cocktail...like me. Another 10 minutes down the hill you come to Alymrida, the small coastal city that has nearly a dozen varied restaurants right on the water. 40 minutes away is the charming city of Chania, the jewel of Crete. This home is centrally located, 20+ minutes from the highway to go anywhere you wish to go...but keep in mind your leaving this view behind. I hope you enjoy it half as much as we did.

We had a wonderful week at Lina’s villa. It really is a beautiful place with a fantastic view. Close to some fabulous beaches and countryside. Lina was super helpful and friendly and really responsive. The pool was gorgeous. Bedrooms really comfortable. It is about 3km from the village and the road does turn and wind but we got used to it pretty fast and it is not so narrow and mostly lit at night. It is semi detached and the other villa had visitors but they were pretty quiet and we did not feel disturbed. Very glad we chose it

A clean and tidy place to stay. Christos was very responsive and gave great tips for the visit. It's a bit of a challenging location, but the car is fine.

We are returning from a 10 days stay at Fokion's house in Almerydas. We arrived late at night and Michael had sent us a video that guided us to the house without difficulty. The house is very nice, very pleasant, located on the mountainside with an exceptional view of the sea and the mountains. Located near the shops of the city and in a very relaxing calm. Michael is very responsive and has good advice, he intervened immediately for a small repair in the bathroom. When we arrived he had prepared fruit, honey, olive oil, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. Only downside, the narrowness of the bathroom but we accommodate it. We would definitely recommend this place to explore the east side of Crete. Thanks to Michael for all the information shared on strategic points to visit. Crete is a gem and we'll be back again!

Our family stay was even more enjoyable than expected. We quickly felt at home. The house (Polymnia) is exactly as described and illustrated by the photos. The view and environment is amazing, while the pool enchanted the kids. The house is perfectly maintained and clean. The beds are comfortable and the air conditioning in the bedrooms are very efficient. The overall amenity is complete. The kitchen has all the necessary equipment for cooking, also with basic condiments. Chrysi is an extremely available and pleasant host in contact. Very responsive, she always responded to our requests, no matter how small. She loves her region and does not hesitate to share her knowledge through valuable advice. We would recommend this simply magical place without holding back.

Our stay at Niko's house was just great! The rooftop terrace offers a breathtaking view that you can even enjoy from the hot tub. The location is quiet and relaxing without feeling restricted. The house is spacious and full of loving details that create a special atmosphere. We felt completely comfortable and can highly recommend this house!

We had a great stay at Michalis's place! The location of the accommodation is ideal, with beautiful views and a quiet environment. Michalis and his son welcomed us warmly, even though we arrived a little later because we had taken the more beautiful route through the city of Rethymno for us. A carafe of raki and chilled water was waiting for us to welcome us – a very nice gesture from Michalis. We particularly enjoyed breakfast on the balcony, overlooking the Cretan Sea and surrounded by chickens, ducks, cats and the friendly dog Bruno. Our son was thrilled and would have preferred to take all the animals with us! The house itself is large, cozy and perfectly equipped and we felt completely comfortable. Michalis’ father even surprised us with fresh eggs, a really loving attention. Overall, this place is a place to relax and enjoy. We will be happy to come back. Highly recommended!

Alexandra’s place finished off our holiday perfectly. It was better than the photos, with everything you needed. Cristina was great, very friendly and helpful, happy to welcome her to Australia if she comes for a holiday. There are quite a few restaurants around and it is only a short drive into Chania Old town (depending on traffic). The location was great as you could book tours or hire a boat. From this location we went to Balos, winery, olive oil tour and got to know the area. Would definitely stay again or recommend friends to stay. Thanks for making Crete so memorable.

Had a fantastic 6 week stay at Nektarios's flat. It was perfect for our needs in terms of comfort, space, and location. Nektarios was super responsive on the few occasions that we needed his help with the flat. Location is quiet but close to fantastic assortment of restaurants, cafés, bakeries, the Old Lighthouse and harbour. Really enjoyable stay and would highly recommend.

The host was great, he was there when we arrived too early and gave us his recommendations of great places / restaurant / supermarket / bakery to visit. The place inside is well designed and clean. The host gave us as well a good private place to park our car.

We felt very comfortable in the stone, small summer house. We loved the courtyard covered by an old vine. In the evening you could illuminate it comfortably and beautifully. We were pleased that there were all the necessary spices in the kitchen and a bottle of red wine was on the table to welcome you. The location in a quiet side street but still only 2 minutes walk from the beach and the old village center of Colombia is ideal. The handover and communication with Dimitrios was very nice and straightforward. We are happy to recommend the place! We felt very comfortable in the small stone summer house. We had an amazing stay in this beautiful villa. No car needed as within walking distance of local tavernas, small shop and beach. Bus stop just a minutes walk away with regular service in Chania and buzzing village of Platanias. We didn't have children with us but villa was child friendly with option to gate off pool and stairgate. The villa itself was spotless. Pool was cleaned regularly and was spacious. Had several sitting areas in outside space. Although we didn't do any cooking the kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need. The bedrooms were clean and spacious. The shower was amazing, powerful with no issues with hot water. A lovely touch was having some supplies waiting for us on arrival such as juice, fruit, spread. Sophia was easy to contact and responsive. We would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone. Thank you so much Sophia!

We stayed at Thomas's house for a relaxing, car-free beach holiday at the end of September. The house was very comfortable, with a lovely garden overlooking the sea that was perfect for outdoor meals. Bakery, supermarkets, a few neighbourhood restaurants and sandy beaches all within walking distance -the nearest beach is about 10 minutes' walk with two more slightly further. Chania is a short bus ride away. Thomas was a charming and helpful host, who made us feel very welcome.

We had a fantastic stay at Seaside Villa Lavrys. The villa itself is spacious, well-maintained, and located in a peaceful area with a lovely view. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxing getaway, but do keep in mind that you’ll need a car to get around as the location is a bit remote. Taxi transportation from Chania costs around €30. What truly made our experience special was our host, Alex. From the moment we booked, Alex was incredibly responsive and attentive, always available to answer any questions we had. He went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable throughout our stay, offering great local tips and assistance whenever needed. His kindness and willingness to help made a huge difference in our trip. Alex’s family was also very warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a peaceful, family-friendly stay in Crete, and Alex’s hospitality made it even better.

Eleni & Michalis’s apartment was perfect! Very roomy and modern! Crete is huge, so their apartment was centrally located and easy to drive to all the beautiful beaches and important points of interest that tourists would love to see! The apartment is near some beautiful beaches and great great affordable restaurants to dine at!! I found Crete absolutely beautiful with so many things to do with all types of activities!! (something for everyone) Crete is very family oriented so lots of choices for children as well! Michalis & Eleni are very helpful and really easy to help you when you need it! Thank you me and my family had a wonderful time!!!

A beautiful, functional, new and clean house in a colourful and a peaceful village. The village located on a mountain and the weather there is amazing. In a 15 minutes drive you will reach beautiful beach - so you win tow different geography in one stay. The communication with the owner was excellent - fast responded for every question and need we had and helped use get along. Warmly Recommend!

As a young family our stay at Gianna’s was exactly what we were looking for. Plenty of space in the garden for the kids to play and a playground to use, A grill in the yard, sun beds and a hammock to rest and read a book. A 10-15 minute walk to the main beach and restaurants. A great location to start the incredible hike to the gorge with Monastery.
