Family-friendly vacation rentals in Joe Gqabi District Municipality

This is the perfect midway stop over for a family or group (including dog) travelling between Joburg and the Eastern Cape. Celeste has gone out of her way to make the place quirky and memorable while at same time ensuring your comfort and safe surroundings. The stoep is a perfect place for an evening braai and to relax after a long drive. The huge interior has many interesting objects from past days while the 4 private bedrooms (2 en-suite) are large and comfortable. The road infrastructure along this route is in excellent condition for travel and passes through magnificent scenic locations. The historic town of Aliwal North with its rejuvenated hot spring spa is a 20 minute drive away. A must visit for the adventurous traveler!

Really lovely little cabin. Everything is as advertised, and the hosts are wonderful. Would 100% recommend.

Wow.. what amazing ppl..Judyand Roger where so kind . the road toothedcottage was washed away...but they immediately offered me a room in their home....with separate entrance and all the other things you'd expect. even offered me dinner and breakfast. thank you Judy and Roger..I will be back.

We had the most wonderful stay with Phyll. Her cottage is homely, neat and tidy, with super comfy beds and linen and set in the most beautiful and peaceful surrounds. Unfortunately we only had one night here, due to our travel schedule, but would absolutely have loved to stay longer ! We can highly recommend this farm stay...we'll be back for sure!

The location is firstly the highlight of Katherine's place. Nestled in the mountains and surrounded by mountains. Amazing. There are some nice spots you can walk / hike to such as going to the stream or up the mountain. Loved the remoteness, peace, and quiet. The cottage and in general Reedsdell has a lot of history to it There are dogs on the property and it is pet friendly After Barkly East, it's exclusively gravel roads, a high clearance vehicle is necessary

Simply superb! Our second visit and there will be many more. Exquisite location, attention to detail, and a very engaged hosting team. I cant recommend Karoo Ridge highly enough.

Maria and her father were amazing hosts, their instructions were clear for the team to find the property and all was as advertised. We will most definitely use them again in the future. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings.
