Cottage vacation rentals in Holy Island

A very peaceful and quiet retreat in a lovely part of the North East. It was so quiet and relaxing spending time in the hot tub and inside the cottage. Although this is no fault of Rachael's and/or the cottage please be wary that if you're over 6 foot you will be ducking a lot! I banged my head twice coming out of the bathroom when going during the night and still half asleep (again, this is nothing against the host or the location - just a pre-warning!)

The Studio was lovely, all fixtures and fitting are of a very high quality, the pictures of the view didn’t really do it justice, it is truly beautiful and the valley changed continuously giving a unique vista on an almost nonstop basis. We had to arrive a day late due to a fallen tree on the approach road to the property, our host was very communicative and kept us informed about the progress. They also kindly allowed us to check out late on our departure day. We would highly recommend this property and are already planning to return in the future.

Our stay was absolutely perfect. Paul & Debbie are amazing hosts who are willing to help with anything we asked. Although just a short drive from Newcastle, we felt as though we were in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful countryside. The cottage is gorgeous and extremely comfortable with everything you need including the most amazing private hottub. But the most amazing experience is with the alpacas who you can see from the cottage, have the opportunity to feed them and even take them for a walk which was just incredible. We were sorry to have to leave but will most definitely be returning! Thank you Paul & Debbie 😀

Had an absolutely amazing time here! 5 of us squished in nicely for the weekend and had an amazing time. We got the hot tub working and it was nice to be able to having something to do and watch whilst chilling, did find it a little tricky to maintain the temperature throughout the day. We cooked loads and there were loads of pans, pots, cutlery and everything else we needed to cook. Only thing that was tricky was the smoke alarm kept going off despite the doors and windows all being open. Was solved by wafting a tea towel at it but was still a little annoying. The place feels really spacious despite being quite small because of the skylights and windows so that was amazing. The hosts were wonderful and great at replying so we honestly couldnt really fault the place and are hoping to come back again for another little weekend away!!!

Peaceful cottage to relax and chill in. Beds are THE most comfortable ever. Literally didn’t see another soul - perfect getaway from city living

Four of us have just spent 3 nights in Peewit Cottage. From the moment we arrived, we all felt right at home, the place was spotless, beds very comfortable too! Everything you could possibly need for a self catering stay was provided. Having the private hot tub was fabulous, we loved it after full days of being tourists in the local area. On a separate note, we would highly recommend a visit to Beamish Museum which was about a 30 min drive, we also spent a day in Durham City & booked a 2.5 hr History/City Tour with walkaboutdurham - highly recommended. Tour Guide Peter is very knowledgeable & so passionate about his job plus he gives everyone a "free" cocktail voucher for Turtle Bay - well deserved after 2.5hrs walking around the City 🤣🤣

Lovely property and beautiful surroundings! Well worth visit and the amenities are great! All four of us (Mum, Dad, Baby and Doggo!) loved our stay! Thank you to both Trudi and Chris!

Amazing from start to finish. Philippa is the perfect host - we stayed with our children and forgot our stroller 🙈 she kindly left us one to use during her stay. The cottage was lovely and clean, everything there you needed! Comfy bed and very spacious! Views were stunning - a real treat waking up to the Northumberland countryside.

A beautiful place to stay inside and out. The views were breathtaking! Our little dogs loved playing in the garden which was well fenced (even our mischievous Westie couldn’t find a way to escape!) The fire was such a nice touch, we loved having fires each day. Wood was supplied if you didn’t use the heating which was great! Coming from a city we don’t have a fire so happy to not use the heating! Kate was so responsive and really friendly. We even had some fresh eggs from her hens which was so lovely. We were thrilled to see the property in snow on our last night/day it really just rounded off our stay perfectly! If you are thinking about booking..do it! Also the shower is great! (Always something I judge! Haha) Can’t wait to rebook!❤️

Superb cottage in a superb location and wonderful to have the hotel around the corner. Staff so helpful and friendly, it really made a difference to our stay.

We love this property, it’s our second stay now. Just right for accessing Sunderland and minutes from the seafront. We shall be visiting again.

We have had the most wonderful Christmas at the Garden Cottage. We spent Christmas Day walking on the beach. A peaceful, rural location with a big enclosed garden. Perfect for our dogs. The cottage is trendy and has lots of space with Beautiful furniture. Truly a home from home. The hosts were amazing! Thank you Macy and Seth

Had a wonderful stay at Mary’s Cottage. A perfect place to stay and explore the Northumberland coast. The cottage is really cosy and has everything you need. Julie and Nigel are great hosts. What a great find this is. A beautiful little cottage with everything you could need for a few nights away. Rothbury is a gem of a place, lovely pubs, nice restaurants, cracking butchers and a bakery. Terrible for the January diet but worth every calorie 😁 we’ll definitely be back.

We couldn't be happier with our stay at Sunrise Cottage. The house was cosy, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Peter kindly provided tea, milk and butter which was so helpful. Would highly recommend and we would love to stay again!

We would definitely recommend to stay here! This cosy cottage is the perfect place for some peace. The log burner is well equipped and very warm. James was a great host and made us feel very welcome. He was attentive, happy to help and share advice/ recommendations on the local area which had plenty of walks, places to eat etc. If the sky is clear you will be in for a treat with the sky! 🌌

Toasty warm lodge, despite wintery conditions. Very well thought-out accommodation meant that we were extremely comfortable. The added welcome goodies were much appreciated. We’ll stay here again when we are next in this stunning part of the UK (if it’s available!).

We had a great stay in Fraser Cottage - much bigger than expected, beautifully decorated, well equipped, warm and cosy, super close to the beach and fab restaurants and easy to both get into town and to all the lovely nearby beaches and coastline. We really appreciated the welcome pack and friendly, responsive host too. A great find!

The cottage was heavenly! Beautiful surrounding gardens and extremely private, making it the perfect getaway to escape the day to day grind. The cottage felt so homely, it was hard to leave, and would definitely love to stay again.

Fantastic holiday in a stunning location. Eildon was super-helpful and arriving to hone-baked cakes after a long trip was wonderful. The cottage was perfect for us and it is tucked into the most beautiful valley with stunning walks from the door. In addition, there are loads of beautiful beaches and castles etc all within easy reach by car. Thank you so much!
