Cottage vacation rentals in Helensburgh

Flew in from Toronto, Canada to this beautiful home away from home. Barbara, Graeme (and Rosie) were extremely hospitable and welcoming hosts. The cottage has everything you need. Lovely, comfortable linens and beds, clean and modern bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, and great and private hot tub. The location is very rural, but easy to find with google maps. The town of Kilburnie is close by with a grocery store, gas station and pharmacy among other amenities.

We had an amazing stay! The hot tub was the highlight of the stay. Amazing location with superb views. We all had a very relaxing weekend☺️

We enjoyed our stay and would be pleased to go back. Handy location for popping into Glasgow and for Loch Lomond. The games hall was an extra we weren’t expecting

Rachel’s Farm ‘The Cottage’ was exactly as advertised. Perfect for the wife and I to have a last minute romantic weekend away. Booking was so easy, the property was very homely and welcoming and we immediately felt the worries of the world disappearing as we relaxed into the hot-tub listening to the wildlife. Also after a day of exploring the area to be able to slip into that awesome rolltop bath. I’m one of the larger built gentleman, and to have a bath that I can lay in and fit was sublime. You almost had to charge me for the cost of that bath as I was tempted to bring it home with me. 👍and then to climb into that bed. I haven’t slept that well for months..! Honestly, if you are considering staying here, I would 100% recommend it. You will not be disappointed.

We had a great stay over the new year, really good location, close to good walks but also great to stay in and keep cosy!

Stayed here for a weekend getaway and it was just what we needed, very out of the way and peaceful but close to lots of places if you needed anything. Host was super helpful which we really appreciated, would definitely come and stay again!

We felt very much at home in this cosy, lovingly decorated cottage. Every practical need was taken care of, the heating system worked perfectly. We liked our meals at the big kitchen table and the quaint staircase leading up to the bedroom and bathroom. Personally, I found it hard to sleep because the mattress was worn out and very uncomfortable

We loved our stay here. The cottage itself is beautiful, the photos don’t do it justice- cosy and thoughtfully converted. The location was perfect for us, quiet and surrounded by countryside but only a 5 min drive to the nearest town and nearby to family we were visiting in the local area. We were travelling with our toddler son and dog, so the fireguard and stair gates provided were much appreciated! We felt really relaxed for our whole stay and David was friendly and helpful. We would love to return and stay again.

Two adults and two children, we had a lovely three night stay. John and Dora were very friendly and welcoming. The ‘cottage’ was well kitted out, everything was of high quality. We had no issues with heating at all, we were very cosy and comfortable. The stoney beach was a short walk down the hill, shops a drive away. Such a beautiful place to stop when exploring the lochs.

This was our second stay at this wonderful property, and it was just as fantastic as the first! The house is absolutely spotless and beautifully decorated. Kate is a truly exceptional host – responsive, helpful, and so friendly. The thoughtful welcome pack was a lovely touch. We can't recommend this place highly enough and are already looking forward to our next visit!

Altquhur Byre was a perfectly charming little cottage. The kitchen was modern, spacious and well equipped. The living area was warm and cosy, especially with the fire going. My daughters slept on the sofa bed and found it very comfy. Bedroom was warm with a comfy bed. The bathroom had a powerful shower. The location was very peaceful and there are plenty of walks in the area. I would recommend a stay here and may even be back myself.

The lodge is a gloriously secluded haven surrounded by beautiful countryside. We went with our 4 and 6 year old boys. They loved exploring the extensive grounds. They would have spent the nights sleeping in the tree house if we had let them. Still it was February so a little chilly. Not in the lodge where the wood burner pumped out much needed warmth and proved a focal point for our evenings. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds meant that we wanted for nothing. Amy could not have been more welcoming. Highly recommended.

Lovely little cottage with everything required for a short stay (or longer if you’re lucky enough!). Victoria was a lovely and communicative host from the second we made our booking. Very quiet and comfortable accommodation with easy access to the centre of town and just 30 seconds from the sea. A sweet welcome pack was very much appreciated.

Fabulous & comfortable house with the best enclosed garden for our dogs, loads of birds & wildlife. Saw many red squirrels & even a pine Martin! The surprise is the wee sitoutery at the bottom of the garden with the wood burning stove. There are great walks all around with stunning views. We’ve arranged to go back again, Peace perfect peace. Brenda was an excellent host. Her place was absolutely gorgeous. She was very responsive and helpful when we had questions. The house was absolutely massive and had more than enough space for 7 of us. We enjoyed the seating space in the kitchen and being able to sit outside with a coffee in the morning. Would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat not too far from Glasgow, Loch Lomond and Stirling!

I've just returned from a week on the Isle of Bute, where I stayed at Ettrick Cottage. The accommodation is fantastic and really high quality with great views across Ettrick Bay. The hosts were very helpful with their communication prior to arrival and were very discrete. It was a wonderful stay in well appointed accommodation.

We've had a lovely stay - it's a well equipped cottage (including kitchen utensils, reliable WiFi, easy to use heating), with plenty of space for two people, wonderful walks available from the doorstep, and great hosts! Would happily stay here again.
