We had an amazing few days at The Thistle. The van is beautifully kitted out with everything you could possibly need. Everything is catered for, down to cooking oil, tin foil, kitchen roll. All the things that are normally forgotten. The beds were very comfy and linens of a high quality. It was a home from home. The van is right on the shoreline and the beach and views are beautiful. Dornoch is only a few miles away and has some lovely restaurants but there is an onsite restaurant and pub too. Tanya went over and above for our stay and we greatly appreciated it. We had the most wonderful stay at the crab shack! As a family of seven, it can sometimes be tricky to find a place that ticks all the boxes, but this home exceeded our expectations in every way. The house itself is spacious, beautifully kept, and thoughtfully designed to offer both comfort and style — there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax. What truly made the stay special was the peaceful setting. Waking up to the sound of the waves and having the beach just steps away felt like a dream. It was the perfect place to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy some quality time together without any distractions. The views were breathtaking, and the fresh sea air was a treat. We left feeling refreshed, recharged, and already planning our return. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a serene escape by the sea :-)

Great place to stay. Perfect location with walking trails, a beautiful beach, and a great little restaurant all minutes walk from your front door. Our host was wonderful and extremely helpful during our stay. 100% reccomend staying here.

The location was great, very modern interior and easy to get around. Although a little dusty but all is made up with the amazing vibes and atmosphere! Sam (The host) was super responsive and helpful as well! Appreciate the responsiveness and the flexibility of his.

This place was perfect. The views over the loch were incredible and the area was so peaceful and quiet. We had everything we needed at the house - and all the extra items left as welcome treats were a lovely surprise. Being able to make a cup of tea straight away after a long journey is an underrated bonus! The kitchen was well equipped, including dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher and detergent for the washing machine. There was no shortage of things to keep us entertained in the living room and we were positioned pretty much perfectly for all the day trips we wanted to do. So, in summary, a perfect trip in a perfect location. And the hosts were so responsive with all their messages and very helpful with additional information to make our trip the best it could be.

Absolutely beautiful house, gorgeous furnishing and loved all little extras around the house that made it home from home. Beautiful setting with the beach down the lane. Warm Welcome to the home and the best welcome pack ever! Recommendations on the area and we were going to Orkney’s for day so got some extra tips. Absolutely perfect couldn’t fault this house at all and would love to stay again.

Had a great couple of days at Little Maus. Eric and Alison were lovely hosts, making us feel welcome and the home baked bread and shortbread were amazing! Lovely part of Scotland would definitely recommend! Thank you

We absolutely loved our stay here, everything was just as described! It was peaceful and the views were lovely, and even though it was next to other cabins it felt very private which was nice! Michelle was a great host, highly recommend her pizza & cocktails!!

A lovely stay (2nd time) and everything we needed for a restful break. The accommodation is top class and the view is unbeatable. Linda was also really helpful when I had a query. I can’t recommend enough if you want a relaxing stay in quiet, gorgeous surroundings.
