Vacation rentals with lake access in Halifax

Doris’ place was excellent. The house and yard were beautiful, quiet and private with access to the lake. The place offered Something for everyone in our group (7 of us between the ages of 11 and 75 years) to keep entertained and relaxed. We had the best time and would love to stay again. The amenities were as described in the listing and she was a very responsive host!

We decided to do a staycation for a birthday with a few friends and we couldn’t have picked a better place! Perfect spot between dropping into the city to do some shopping to a relaxing atmosphere on the lake. We will definitely be recommending to any friends who are travelling to the spa for a getaway! We want to thank Chris and Anna for hosting us and for being very quick to reply to any questions.

Our family had a fantastic Christmas at Deanna’s. It looks exactly as advertised, and is just really comfortable. Deanna was very helpful and timely in responding to questions, prior to, and during our stay. She was very flexible and accommodating to meet our timing needs. Awesome location and view. The accommodation is great, well taken care of and great for a family stay. Will definitely stay here again if back in the area.

this place is amazing. not only is it a perfect getaway for relaxing and if you like to fish. this is the place. I feel like host was super friendly and the place is perfect . my only complaint would be that I didn't want to leave. Just amazing. thank you to our wonderful host.

Abigail’s place was great! Close walk to ferry terminal and downtown Dartmouth. She allowed early check which was great! Would recommend!

Great place

Great location for our stay. Apartment was clean and spacious with most comfortable beds. Jin was easy to contact and responded to requests quickly. The lake was a bonus with dock for swimming and plenty of outside seating. We would definitely recommend for an enjoyable stay in Dartmouth!

Beautiful basement suite with full kitchen, bathroom with toiletries, washer and dryer and a lounge room with streaming services and cable. Lovely setup with separate entrance for privacy, easy to find and easy instructions to get in. Snacks, juice and bottled water also provided. Would recommend. Only thing that would’ve been nice to have on hand would be a fan for the bedroom and a hair dryer, otherwise everything was great.

We stayed for a week at Treena’s place in Lakeview while visiting relatives in nearby Bedford, NS. We found the accommodations very nicely furnished, clean, modern, and well-equipped. The kitchen is small but functional and has most equipment one would need. The situation is very private and quiet, and we were able to use the wood stove, firepit, and gas grill. We found enough supplies like coffee pods, paper products, and dishwasher detergent to easily get us through the week. There are some lovely walking trails in the area, which feels more remote than it really is, but keep in mind that a car is necessary to get around. We would definitely stay again next time we Visit Nova Scotia.

Thank you for being such lovely hosts! We immediately felt right at home. The surroundings are beautiful, peaceful and quiet. It was a wonderful place to wake up to the snow. Thoughtful amenities, lots of space, comfortable places to eat, drink, read and watch Christmas movies. We didn't want to leave. So much generosity was extended to us due to the storm, and I look forward to returning! We very much were well taken care of.

This was the most amazing place. We spent a week here and Everything you needed or wanted was right in this place. The surroundings were peaceful, very inviting. Gillian checked in with us halfway through our stay to see if we needed anything. The beds were very comfy. The firepit is beautiful there was a fully stacked wood pile to use for the fire. There were lots of chairs all around to sit outside or out by the the dock. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you Gillian and Scott for your hospitality.

The cottage was exactly what we were looking for. Great communication great service. We were there longer than most, but it was a very comfortable cottage.

The cottage is adorable and I loved the comfy beds and just the coziness of the cottage. The view is great and the sea breeze was so relaxing.

We Had a family reunion “staycation”!! This Was a perfect spot. Open space for the play pen and baby toys! Beautiful view & yard. We brought our own groceries and stayed in. The kitchen was very workable and had all the kitchen tools we could have needed. The wood stove was such a relaxing mood setter. The outdoor hot tub was lovely! (2 ppl) The deck was perfect for enjoying the outdoors with babies! Host had loads of little fine touches. Washer & dryer worked great! Parking was good, right next to the door and no stairs needed. Felt right at home and very comfortable! This is a perfect location of longer stays!

Beautiful spot and has everything you need!

We had a wonderful stay at Doucette Lodge. The setting is beautiful on Lake Echo and the home is lovely. We enjoyed the comfort of the home and all the amenities it offered. It is conveniently located near the hwy to both Dartmouth and Halifax and a 10 minute drive to the ocean. We have been there before and plan to return. Nicole and Peter are very friendly and helpful and make you feel at home. We would highly recommend this home to anyone who enjoys a peaceful surrounding and beautiful scenery. First time visiting Nova Scotia and we couldn’t have chosen a better home and location. Beautiful home, 10/10 view and location, and very communicative and helpful hosts. Highly recommended for anyone looking to visit the area!

Every year my family and I rent a cabin out of the city you get away and enjoy the quiet for Christmas. This year we found this location. From the moment we arrived we took note of the Bay and tall trees surrounding the property. Inside the home had a beautiful layout with space and a brightly lit tree for our christmas. We hiked, sledded, took photos, saw every star in the clear night sky from a soothing woodfire hot tub, and sat at the edge of the property and watched a couple seals Bob up and down in the waves. 10/10 Christmas and we hope to go back again in the fall. We highly recommend checking it out!
